Just got my new phone yesterday. Been out of the modding game for a while. I went from t mobile to international sim unlocked. Have TWRP installed 3.2.3 blue 9.91 and magisk 19. Everything went smooth. I installed some modules and didn't pass safety net. Disabled modules rebooted still didn't pass. I Uninstaller magisk 19 so I can flash 18 because I read there is a safety net fix for v18 but when I go into TWRP my files are random names. What exactly do I need to do to get everything running good with safety net and how do I prevent safety net from failing? Also which TWRP should I flash so I don't have this problem. At the end of the day I just want to be on stable OOS with magisk and safety net passing. Thanks for all the help in advanced.

This may help.
Start with this post for TWRP : https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3861482
SEARCH for flashing with Android 9.xx, onePlus 6 & Our 6T have TWO slots A & B and a whole bunch of partitions, things are 'different' from the old methods and require relearning to successfully flash recovery, ROMS, keeping root and encryption, etc;
It took me a couple of attempts and the MSMTool but I think I have some grasp of what the process' are now, we live we learn, we search.
All Devs have my utmost respect and thanks for their hard work, efforts and sharing of the spoils.
THANKS DEVS

I was just about to flash anew twrp. Downloaded everything on my pc and then turned off my phone now it is stuck on The bootloader is unlocked screen. What do I do? Also windows tells me that the device I connected has malfunctioned
Edit: Ok so I got out of that screen by holding Volume up and the power botton. Then it shut off and booted normal. I can't hide magisk because as of right now magisk is not installed but the manager is. So I'm trying to flash twrp and then flash Magisk 18.1 stable instead of v19. Do I just fastboot twrp and then flash twrp and then restart twrp back into recovery correct? And then flash magisk?

yes you can fastboot TWRP and then Flash the latest TWRP. reboot back to TWRP and flash 18.1, I recommend v19 though, but try that first.

OK as I stated, go to Magisk hide from Menu under Superuser, hit 3 dots top right and show system apps. Check everything that has Google in the name. Then go into Settings and toggle Magisk Hide off then on again. And then test Safety Net.
Thanks I hid everything google man it was kinda a pain lol thank you all. Anything I should be aware of to lose safetynet?

Flash the modules you like then reboot and toggle Magisk Hide, it's usually something you have to do after every reboot. If it fails SafetyNet just remove module.

When I used v18.x, SafetyNet would initially pass but after some time, usually a few hours, if I check again it would fail, even if nothing changed in that time. Toggling Magisk Hide off then back on would get it to pass, but I found myself obsessively checking several times a day & it got really annoying. I reverted to v.17.3 and don't have this issue. Only problem is Google Pay no longer works. I read that the latest Magisk fixes the GPay issue, but I don't want to deal with the SafetyNet issue just for that. Rather do without GPay.
Once I get the OOS update, I'm gonna completely uninstall Magisk & XPosed, run the update then try v.19. Hoping everything will work as it should, SafetyNet passes consistently & GPay works.

So now that I have magisk and safety net is good I'm rooted I have TWRP and I'm on Oxygen Os 9.0.11. This is a T Mobile 6T but flashed to the international. How do I install Ota? Do I need to update a certain way or disable anything prior? I'm only interested in stable builds.

I'm Posting this because of all the confusion I see on the different forums on how to get this working. This WILL WORK as I've personally tested on three different versions of Android on the Nexus 6p, Samsung S3 and HP Touchpad.
The underlined steps are the gist of the process....
How to Install Viper4Android 2.5.0.5 on 6.x 7.0, 7.1
Download ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip
here's a personal google drive link
DOWNLOAD IT HERE https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3qV-scfklSkZEg0MDdZY3J4ZXM/view?usp=sharing
Boot into TWRP recovery and install/flash the ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip from recovery.
Reboot phone.
Use a file explorer with root access (Root explorer)
Go to the /vendor/etc/ directory on the device and rename audio_effects.conf to audio_effects.conf.bak (IF THE FILE EXISTS)
Open ViPER4Android FX
You may get a notification to install V4A driver. Select YES.
It may take some time to install V4A driver, it's doing its job and will finish soon. If Android gives an error that the app has stuck/stopped, select the wait option, don't force close it.
Make SURE that you've given Viper4Android Storage permissions
or you won't be able to load or save profiles
Check under Driver Status (in Viper4Android) to make sure it's enabled and processing. Like this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3qV-scfklSkbGJMb0JkOWdwX0E/view?usp=sharing
Once the Driver installed message shows on screen, reboot.
CREDIT TO guitardedhero and androiding.how for making it simple and me for being pissed at the confusion to get this simple mod working for folks.
Most of this guide's steps were modified/originated from http://androiding.how/install-viper4android-nougat/
I attempted to simplify the steps because of all the confusion I see on forums, and make the instructions less wordy and more precise.
This works for you please just give me a thanks I've been on here for too many damn years to not have more than 17 thanks. Good luck everybody enjoy Android it's awesome

Never needed to do anything with that file other than rename it before installing the Viper4android driver. If it's a fresh flash you should be good to go. Or you could just reflash the rom on top to fix any weird stuff you might have done trying to get it to work. It's really not that difficult to get this mod installed/set up.
My current ROM doesn't even have that file in vendor/etc if that helps.

It should, if not do a backup of your Rom, your apps and a backup with your launcher's backup utility and there's no worries. Then do a clean flash of the rom.
I just switched to Nova launcher from Apex and it will basically restore your widget locations even..it really makes it easy to clean flash. I'll dirty flash sometimes but if there's any funny business, back up and get a good clean rom flash going..
You should provide a download link. Had to search a bit to find it.

The package I use is much simpler. It was provided by guitaredhero and doesn't include all of the other config files. I've not had luck with those nor tested those. The ARISE ZIPS simply haven't worked for me. If those work for you by all means use them. The smaller package has worked for me on numerous devices and android builds.
Simpler is better in my opinion. The old viper zips didn't require 20 + files to function.
Good luck!

Hi, just sharing. Installing viper mod has been slightly tricky for me since nougat. I like Leviticus 1.3 and have it running with nmf26f. I always install viper after setting everything up and doing a back up since it's near impossible to get rid of the files once installed.
1. Install busy box stericson. Reboot.
2. Rename audio effects.con.bak Reboot.
3. Finally install 1.3.
4. Install black player from play, insert headphones and press play.
5. Open viper app and hooray, no drivers not installed message.
If I do not reboot after every step, it's almost guaranteed.
When enable for first time, music will disappear for a sec before hearing a slight difference. Adjust to your liking from there. I noticed if the music doesn't mute for that sec, Dolby atmos will just be lifeless when enabled or when switching to speaker mode and back to headset, no processing after.
Really weird.
Also, if developer options not enabled before installation, drivers won't install.
Learned from plenty of wipes and restoration.
Alternatively, there is a way to do this the systemless mode using Magisk.
Just install the Viper4Android module thats on the Magisk Manager app,
then I made a module that changes the "audio_policy_configuration.xml" file for the one I modded, using this reference http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68859212&postcount=23811
It works for all except on soundlcloud.
I have 2 diferent modules for 7.0 and 7.1.1 stock images if you need them

Basically magisk is similar to Xposed in that it can add mods to your ROM without having to flash entire Roms.
Magisk does not touch system, so magisk modules are systemless. Read the forum to find out
You basically flash magisk.zip and Magisk PHH Superuser in recovery,
Then install PHH Superuser app from play store
Then magisk manager apk from XDA
But please read first

Thanks. I flashed superSU to root via twrp earlier on. Don't know what it means to flash it systemless. If I flash PHH superuser, will I be able to continue to use chainfire's flash fire to install official ROMs later? Been using it to upgrade since 7.0. I've used xposed mods a lot previously, so this magisk manager is like xposed app where you can download modules and install and enable them?
Prerequisites:
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked
Make sure you are rooted and have latest SuperSU installed
Make sure you have the latest TWRP installed as your recovery
Once the prerequisites are complete you may proceed at you own risk.
Download Xposed 3.1.1
Apkmirror link
Install Xposed 3.1.1 FIRST
(Do not flash Xposed first or you might bootloop!)
Download the uninstaller (xposed-uninstaller-20160829-arm64.zip) from here.
Direct link
Download the installer (xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip) from here.
Direct link
Transfer the files downloaded above to your phone if downloaded from PC.
(Skip this if all files have been downloaded from your 1+3t)
Reboot to TWRP
(Press the volume up button at boot, scroll down with volume down to "Recovery", press power to select.
Flash xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip
Wipe cache and Dalvik cache to be safe.
Profit! :good: You now have Xposed, but remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
TL;DR for experts:
Get root and TWRP
Install Xposed 3.1.1
Flash xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip
Keep the arm64 uninstaller in case any module(s) misbehave.
Troubleshooting:
If your phone is thrown into bootloop after installing/activating a new module, simply flash the uninstaller downloaded above.
If you guys would like to see a list of modules that work, let me know!
Big thanks to Rovo89, OnePlus and XDA
Here are the modules I use:
Amplify: Battery enhancements
Assistant Enabler: Google Assistant, not just for the Pixel
DisableFlagSecure: Screenshots everywhere
FingerprintEnabler: use fingerprint to unlock after reboot or when a device administrator app locked the phone
GravityBox: Circle battery, center clock, hide Vibrate icon, double tap to sleep status bar, force media volume control.
Notification Slider by Seveilith: change the slider functions (only app that worked for me, others did not overwrite system settings)
RootCloak: hide root from most apps
SNAPPREFS: Snapchat with extras
Vibration Tuner: change the intensity of vibrations
Partial Compatibility:
Android N-ify: quicksettings are not modified, and white screen overlay appears at volume change but notifications do get N-ified (including direct replies!)
Modules I have tried but do not work:
Hide VoLTE Icon
NFCIconRemover
What do you mean by do not flasg xposed first or you might bootloop? You can flash xposrd first as well. But the best wah is always, Install from xposed app itself. No need of flashing anything manually.

My 1+3t bootlooped quite a few times while trying to install Xposed on it. Just giving a heads up and sharing the way that worked for me..
Thanks, that was indeed quite helpful !
I had quite some struggle with getting Xposed (based on systemless Magisk) to work without bootloops - without success.
With your instructions it worked out very nicely, albeit not systemless. But at least I have a working phone

Alright, so now that a hand full people asked me how I got over 12h of sceen on time, I'm writing this post.
First of all, SOT depends on your usage, so the result might be different for you.
Anyway, here is what I did:
!!! You need a unlocked bootloader !!!
1. Clear all phone data.
(I used stock Recovery to wipe internal storage, since TWRP is bugging in wiping the internal storage and my PC didn't recognize my device's storage)
2. Flash TWRP (I used the blu_spark version)
3. Install the latest stable OOS (4.7.6 for me) in TWRP from here
( https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ficial-oxygen-os-roms-and-ota-updates.686610/ )
4. Once the device booted, do not start to set it up. (Stay at the Welcome screen!!)
5. Power off your device.
6. Reboot in fastboot mode, flash TWRP again and reboot directly into recovery mode.
7. Once in TWRP, connect your device to your PC and drag the latest Magisk.zip and NewKernel.zip to your devices root directory (I used NewKernel v1.08 and Magisk 15.2, NewKernel can be found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/newkernel-t3710363/page43 )
8. Flash Magisk first, after that (without rebooting) NewKernel.
9. Then wipe cache, dalvik and reboot.
10. After set up and you installed the Apps you need, charge your phone to 100%)
11. Install Greenfiy. (Just go for the version found in the Playstore) If you don't like Greenify, I know what your thinking, but trust me.
11. Greenify the apps that are draining your battery. (I attached a screenshot of my greenified apps)
12. Boom, enjoy your new battery life!
(If you have any problems with internal storage, (which shouldn't happen) fix contents in TWRP)
~Use NewKernel v1.08 because 1.09 has wifi issues.~

That's with Stock + Greenify before coming across your guide.
Had issues with third party Kernels on other devices in the past so I stay away from them now.
If the kernel recommended supports Oreo then I may give it a shot.
lol im so confused. i flashed stock boot.img then new kernel 1.08 then magisk 15.0 and my wifi didnt work.
so i restore a backup of my working boot.img and tried your way.
Downloaded stock boot.img flashed it, then flashed magisk 15.2 then new kernel 1.08. (im like wtf how will i keep root but it did. coz i though magisk "lives" in the boot.img)
but it worked. wifi works with safetynet intact

I think the problem was with Magisk 15.0. I also had trouble with this version, but no wifi issues. My phone took almost 3 min to boot. This was fixed in 15.1 and 15.2 was more optimized.
I'm glad it worked

Use NewKernel v1.08 because 1.09 has wifi issues.

Some browsing, watched a movie (that I downloaded earlier), read things on xda, some social media
For that you dropping a donation link? C'mon bro. You only using your screen. No apps, no games nothing. Just Chrome was used. Everyone can get this good SOT with that app-usage. Actually its better to hold the apps in ram than force close it
Everyone wants money for minimum work....
I use Greenify Magisk Version.
Naptime and Servicely, Naptime Doze is advanced than Greenify Doze. all pro versions
Hibernate the crappy system apps and you're good to go.
I get around 8h SOT with heavy usage.
currently on OB1.

I'm having a ton of issues playing Pokemon Go. It's somehow detecting I have root, and giving me **** for it.
Without root, it wouldn't play at all for me. With root (latest Magisk), it barely works for me. When it doesn't work, it tells me my OS is incompatible. I have to kill the app, restart it, and keep trying to log in until it does work. Eventually though, it always detects root and tells me my OS isn't compatible.
How the **** is it detecting that I have root? I have latest Magisk installed (version 19.3), latest Magisk Manager (version 7.3.1), latest beta OS (Beta 11). I have Magisk Hide enabled. I use Shelter to put Pokemon Go in the work profile. What the **** am I doing wrong? Plz

Is this a setting in magisk manager or something? I can't seem to find it. Could you elaborate a little please?

Yep yep! In Magisk Manager, go to settings, and it's the last option under the "General" section. Enabling this seems to have helped. After enabling it, I haven't had PGO detect root once today.
After a day, this seems to definitely have helped. Thanks for the suggestion, Darrenc81

Mine is not processing any tips how to make it work? I just flashed with magisk.
That's weird, that's the one I flashed yesterday bc it's sitting on my download folder. After flashing, both of my SIM couldn't be detected, phone number and all were gone. I don't think my FS partition were corrupted. Had to wipe the phone down with recovery. Just downloaded the version posted here and it's the same in my download folder. Didn't work for me.

same here.
reboot phone - sims both ok
Just want to share some thoughts and ask some questions.
Both SIMs sometimes not being detected is true, just reboot the phone, sometimes rebooting doesn't help, after I shutdown the phone and little later start again the SIMs are being detected properly again.
I would like to ask something else, after some random Bluetooth device reconnects or after certain time, V4a stops working with Processing: No. A simple ForceStop of V4a and OPEN again solves the problem but it's just annoying because this happens to me almost every half an hour and with every BT (headset) reconnect.
On previous "pittvandewitt" official V4A Magisk module we were greeted with something like "VOL-Down: Use alternative method, only use this when having issues!"
After selecting this alternative method I recall that it kept processing for days long in the past.. how could we be able to achieve this on Android 11???
hii
all the issues are due to android 11. no option we have to wait until we get all these bugs fixed. i am using dolby now. not viper. in that also sim issue is there unfortunately. thanks
It works. Thank you
Hii all
In magiks viper is available.install it .but don't install drivers. Install viper and reboot. Don't touch it.now come once again to magiks install audio modification library. Reboot. Then go to viper install drivers.reboot it.check driver status.it should have been installed.
Thanks

Didn't work for me. Seems we have to wait for an updated version.
Is it because the OP8 update? Anyone have a version that works?
So anyone found a fix to SIM Card not being detected on boot? And that I need to reboot multiple times for it to work.
The Viper mod in the magisk manager works fine on Android 11 if you switch SELinux to permissive.
