how to use the 48mp feature - Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Questions & Answers

dear black shark 2 user
How to activate the 48mp camera features?
I tried the pro mode, but I cant find 48 mp button like the redmi note 7 or mi 9 camera app does
mine is black shark 2 6/128 chinese version
thanks

It's a 48MP sensor, but the images are 12MP. It uses quad bayer filtering (images are 1/4 the MP count as the actual sensor). "Pixel binning" is the main term everyone uses for it.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that's discussed in another thread already. This thread was asking for info about the sensor being 48MP.

Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus - 6GB RAM, Triple Cameras

Hello! Xiaomi Mi5s Plus was launched recently and here are the features: 5.7-inch FHD Screen, Snapdragon 821 CPU, 6GB RAM, and Triple cameras with two rear cameras (source: http://www.chinaphonereview.com/xiaomi-mi5s-plus).
The dual rear cameras is a unique characteristic in which it features a 13MP colored camera and a 13MP black & white camera. I'm not sure how this would translate. But I'm certain the 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 821 processor would definitely provide an excellent performance.
Any thoughts on this smartphone?
If a decent developer community forms and this gets the ability to work on Verizon then I'm sold. But I have to hold out hopes that the Mi5 progress keeps advancing and can easily translate to this device.

Be careful, the mi5s plus cameras are old sony imx258 and not the new imx378 on the mi5s. Also the mi5s plus lacks of ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Yah, they gimped the plus so much.. if you like larger phones, neither are good buys. If the plus had 2 x imx378 and ultrasonic, best phone in the world easily, by hardware.
The pixel phones use the imx378, I believe, and the pixel is rated best camera phone by DxO (take with grain of salt as they're apparently biased), but it still shows the prowess of the imx378.
Would the dual rear cameras make any difference in terms of picture quality? How can the additional black & white camera help?
Just got this phone today.
It is amazing fast, super high performance.
With default setup, it can have 4G RAM free
However, it only have chinese stock rom at this moment.

Well, sadly enough that the imx378's sensor is large and I assumed that is why the dual camera setup with that sensor is not achievable.
Same goes to OIS, most probably due to sensor size issues. (Pixel phones have no OIS thou)

From what I've read, but I'm not an expert, the B&W camera should be capable of capturing more light.
So combining images from both cameras it should capture better pictures on low light conditions.

So I guess it will result to much clearer pictures and lesser noise compared to the single color camera. That's nice. :good:

I have it and for me there's 2 things that I don't like. MIUI 8 , I'm a stock Android guy I hope somebody bring cm or something like this to this mobile and the other thing it's the camera, it's a camera for me from the beginning of 2015, that perform well in optimal light conditions and in low light even with the stereo option it's not very well.
Conclusion, I'm not a photo guy so there's no problem but I can't support miui even that it runs fast in this mobile. So until we have some development to this mobile I'm going to stay whit my axon 7.

[request] HDR+ with 2x optical zoom

Will It Be possibile to use Google Camera and his mighty HDR+ with our Tele camera (2x optical zoom)? Is there a way to switch between the two cameras and decide to use Wide or tele lens? I'm sure we could get a true and reliable optical zoom in almost all light conditions.
I don't think Google camera supports dual cameras at all and that was most probably the reason why xioami chose to use their own camera apk for this device..
Google Camera doesn't support dual camera. My question is: can we force Google Camera to use only telephoto lens? Can this be done by a magisk or xposed module? We could have two apps, one Google Camera using only 12 megapixel Wide lens and another one using only 12 megapixel telephoto lens.
Cstark27 made a Gcam version that uses Lgv30 Wide angle camera. That's exactly what i was asking. A Gcam using our telephoto lens is possibile! Is there anyone able to do the same for Xiaomi mi a1?

I've not rooted the phone so I can't see the info, but I doubt whether the front camera is ov16880...
From Google, we can see the other phones which uses ov16880 module as back camera can even support 4K video and the result is much better than the one in front camera of Max Pro M1 6GB.

You're wrong in both cases.
Check the last line of the screenshot. It says fixed focus for front cam. The focus modes written in the middle is for back cam. Both are described in the screenshot.
And second, yes, I can take photos without turning HDR or HDR+ on.

Of course I know the fixed focus is for front cam. I'm just asking why the same sensor in other phones can have many focus modes while it only has fixed focus as front camera here.
Because in my old phone I can tap to focus using front cam, and now when I tap the focus is still fixed. I can focus on specific object in front cam of old phone but not for in max pro m1. When I am close to the camera enough the things in back is naturally blur in viewfinder, not fake one synthesized by alogrithm. It was a phone made in 2015.
Can you take photos for both front and back cams without turning HDR or HDR+ on using this gcam?
Are you using custom rom? I'm 6GB variant phone on stock Oreo. Thanks.

The cameras of the 3GB/4GB variants are disasters.
The sensors of 6GB variant are good overall but a bit weak in low light in some cases. This can be solved using gcam when you takes photos.

As far I know, ZB601KL has 16 MP front camera on 6 GB variant, which is probably for Indian & Indonesian markets only.
On the other hand, International variant has 8 MP front cam. But this model also has NFC, which is not available in 601KL variant.

Back Camera has only 12MP, Resurrection Issue?

Hello Guys,
i have the Problem that no App can make Pictures with 48MP Resolution.
I had to wait for 196 hours until the Mi-tool has unlocked my Fon. It is an insolence from xiaomi imposing such a compulsory break to the customer. Some of the older Redmi Customers must wait 1440 hours, i had read. But i say nothing, the Price for the Hardware i bought is good
So i tested the Fon for 196 hours and the Pictures i made with 48MP they were very good an big (14-18 MB/jpg File).
Since i installed TWRP 3.2.x.x and Ressurretion (RR 7.0.2 from 29th Aug.) since then i can make Pictures with maximum 12 MP (3000 x 4000, 5-7 MB/jpg File). There is no way to make higher Resolution. It doesn´t matter witch Cam App i use.
I have not found any Kind of fix or People that has the same Problem.
I am not sure if i have installed the right OS. I installed RR-P-v7.0.2-20190829-lavender-Official because i had read that lavender is the right Software for Snapdragon 660 and Adreno 512 GPU.
violet is not the right one, isn´t it?
Questions over questions..............i hope you can help me.
Sorry for my bad english !
Best regards from Germany
48mpx photos can only be captured with MIUI Camera which is available only on MIUI rom. For custom roms there is Miui camera port called ANX camera 48mpx works but pictures arent as good.

Who has tell you this? It isn´t the Truth.
The Pictures with 48MP (8000 x 6000) look very good. I can´t show you Pics because i can´t Post attachements and i can´t post external Pic-Links.
The Pictures has a Size over 10 MB, and on the PC they look really good!
The Files i installed with TWRP are:

- ANXCamera94_48MpFixed.zip (this Thread is helping you)
After the installation you have the App "ANXCamera", start it and be happy
Redmi Note 7 doesn't have a real 48MP sensor. It's 12MP (primary sensor). That's why third-party apps only offers you 12Mp as the max resolution.
The camera software (Stock ROM) applies a binning effect (technology), combining 4 pixels into 1 (big). Then, the software resizes the image to generate an equivalent image as 48MP (size), from a 12MP.
If you take a look at the specifications of the CPU (SoC) the device uses, it doesn't allow cameras with higher resolution than 25Mp. So, Xiaomi, and other brands too, needed to use this technology to allow the device to generate "virtual" 48MP images.
If you want to take good photos, I would recommend you to go for cameras (not compact if possible), not smartphones. As their sensors are much bigger, so better quality and light they can capture. Sorry.

That is not real. Indian RN7 has 12mp Sony sensor but chinese Redmi Note 7 has Samsung GM1 48mp Isocell, so there are 48 million physical pixels BUT in Quad Bayer arrangement (4 pixels are in the same red, green and blue filter), technically you can shoot 48MP photos in stock camera and YES, the soc (SDM660) allow 48mp photos in normal mode, not in ZSL (Zero Shutter Lag), photos in 48mp looks sharper in bright conditions (i tested that) and contains high noise levels on low light, anyway that 48mp are not the same as a 48mp regular bayer filter.
I hope this helps, i could be wrong. You can find [Samsung GM1 48MP] and [SDM660] specs on google.
(Google translate, sorry for my english bla bla bla)

48-MP-Camera or not?

While all descriptions (including those at Gearbest, where I bought the phone) of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 speak of a 48 megapixel and a 5 MP camera, all system info apps show me that my phone has one camera with 13.2 MP and the other with 12 MP. My Redmi Note 7 is the Global version. Have I got something wrong?

The sensor mounted on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is the combination of four small pixels to obtain a larger pixel size. Specifically, CU 1.6 starting from CU 0.8.
The sensor included in the ultra-cheap phone is a Samsung ISOCELL S5KGM1. It has Tetracell technology, a technology that combines 4 adjacent pixels to work as a single pixel of larger size, thx to the Snapdragon 660 may be able to process the captured images generating a 48-MP photo.
If you want to take photos in this mode, in Miui you have the option of 48MP in the camera app.
