can anyone confirm this? as in do you have personal experience?
not those who say i have friends who say that their phone is locked or someone told me its locked.
as in do you have a personal experience of your O2 Exec being locked?
also, it would be great if you could list the date and location where your exec was purchased so that the users here can get an idea.
using it with a variety of carriers in the US so it must be unlocked.
I got mine from the o2 online shop and it was despached on the 17/10/05. I can confirm that it is unlocked.
I purchased a Exec three weeks ago and it was unlocked.
I'm living in Ireland and the gimps at O2 Ireland haven't even heard about the Exec so can any of you - in particular lbendlin since you're not in the UK either tell me how you managed to get an Exec?
Any informationat at all would be greatly appreciated.
i got my xda exec from o2 online on the 1st december and its unlocked

O2 Ireland get's it's stock from O2 UK.
Ergo the Exec will be unlocked - assuming the gimps can get it for you. Time to call the CEO Danuta Gray and tell her to pull finger methinks

My friend from the UK bought my EXEC for me last NOV 10 and it is unlocked! I love this baby!
I got one today and it's unlocked. I got one three weeks ago and that was unlocked.
I hope rumours of them moving to locked SIM are untrue.

seems like there are no users who have a SIM-locked Exec at the moment. hopefully its not locked too coz mine has been bought by a friend on November 26th and is currently in shipment. the shopkeeper told him it was sim locked but he couldnt confirm it as he didnt have any sim card to try it out.
If anyone who has a vodafone desire HD in the UK, can they confirm is the phone is supplied unlocked or locked ? Could they also tell us where it was purchased from. Many thanks!

I don't want to hijack your post but ditto on the T-Mobile phones, any information on if their phones are locked or unlocked.
If you buy from carrier retail shop they are normally locked, but if you buy from a third party they come unlocked most of the time. Just ask who ever your buying from.

My friend got his from Vodafone unlocked. The guy at Vodafone said that due to the short supply they were just getting them unlocked from the manufacturer and sending them straight out to customers. This was about 2-3 weeks ago so the situation could have changed.
I received my replacement from Vodafone last Friday, its completely unbounded and unlocked

I got my DHD directly from Vodafone - it is unbranded and unlocked - per my own experience with Vodafone - over the last 2 years or so I got the following phones from Vodafone:
- Touch pro2 - branded but Unlocked
- Windows 7 Trophy - unbranded and unlocked
- Desire HD (DHD) - unbranded and unlocked
so far all phones have been received direct from Vodafone and all have been unlocked - so I think I can make this healthy assumption that HTC phones are pretty much unlocked from Vodafone.
Hope this helps.
Can confirm mobiles.co.uk was unlocked
Got mine from Vodafone online 1 month ago, unbranded and unlocked

Luving this site which I've just stumbled on and answered my question straight away, so here's some info that I've been told from two different T-Mobile UK staff.
Phone is SIM locked but the firmware hasn't been touched (this site has confirmed this too)
The phone will have some kind of T-Mobile logo branding but that's it. I can't wait for my new DHD to turn up now, no stock with T-Mobile and may not be for 3 weeks or more ...... nevermind hay I'll just have to wait.
Hello everyone!
I'm planning to buy a Note 4 from a guy who is coming from Germany with a phone bougth from vodafone germany. He is telling me that vodafone sells samsung devices unlocked. Is there any sim lock and bootloader?

Anyone received it yet?
No I still .170
Yes, i got it yesterday on my z5p.
Only Orange and SFR in France, 3 in Sweden, EE and Vodafone in UK, and unlocked phones in Italy have it available. The rest of us have to wait. This is based on info with XperiFirm. My unlocked UK phone doesn't have it yet.

Can I ask do you have Wifi Calling access on the EE firmware, I bought mine sim free but want wifi calling so I am looking at flashing the EE Firmware.
Available today in Sweden on Tele2 via OTA. Installing atm
Still nothing for me on EE in the UK. Either OTA or via pc companion. Strange...
Scrap that. Downloaded the latest Xperifirm and found 32.0.A.6.200 / R7B on there. Downloading now.
Also available for O2 and Customised UK
Just got it today. UK sim free from Clove.
No noticeable difference.
Got it 1-2 days ago. Too early to tell, but it seems it may have solved some really odd battery life/wakelock issues I was having.

hello, just bought a cheap note 4 but it's locked to 02 but i'm on EE, just wondering if it's best to root and put EE firmware on it or buy an unlock code and just pop my sim in,thanks

If you root and put EE firmware on that doesn't mean it's unlocked and will accept your sim. It's needs network unlocking. Usually if you call 02 they will onlock it for about £25. Maybe cheaper
hi,cheers will pop into 02 this week
I ran into this problem. Got my mother in laws old phone....locked to O2 and I'm with Three.
Went into my local O2 store and was told that I didn't have authorization to do it as their records showed the owner of the device to be someone else. Was told that I'd have to get the 'registered' owner to have it unlocked.
