Problem: Safe mode whatever I try - J730F - Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Questions & Answers

Phone version J730F and SW version is J730FXXU3BRK2. It somehow boots constantly to safe mode even after factory reset. I tryed turning it off from notification option, rebooting normaly, clearing cache from recovery and everything that I could think off. How can I see and check what is making it to constantly boot to "safe mode"?

[Q] Spica doesn't turn on

I had Cyanogenmod 6.1.1alpha8.1 on my spica. Recently it got a little bit laggy so i decided to flash it with odin to restore the original firmware and install everything else from the beginning. I tried to flash it with I5700XXJH6. The flashing went fine, but when spica started booting, only the first, static bootlogo showed up and there was even no progress bar. After 20 minutes nothing had happened so i tried to flash it with 1.5, then install Lk10 to get into recovery mode, so i could get access to the phone's shell. Unfortunately, after flashing everything was the same - static bootlogo and no progress bar. Installing LK10 went fine, but the phone still wouldn't boot into recovery mode. I tried many different ROMs and one of them worked - the system booted properly, everything seemed to work at first glance, but when i inserted the SIM card and input the PIN code, the phone got stuck on "Unlocking SIM card". I tried rebooting many times but it didn't work.
Once again i tried to flash it with odin and everything was the same as before. I tried a few times, but now there's no download mode and when i connect the phone to the charger, nothing shows up on the screen.
Is there anything else i can try to do?
i had and solved the same issue yesterday.
I think part of the issue is maybe with a previous FileSystem conversion and another part with data/cache from previous Roms.
Try to make an install as clean as possible.
- I5700XXJH6 with Odin
- LK2.08 with odin
now you have an acessable recovery.
- boot the phone and put the CyanogenMod 6.1.1 alpha8.1 (found on 'forum dot samdroid dot net') on the root of the sdcard.
- shutdown the phone.
Important: disconnect the phone before booting in recovery, else it will boot normaly.
- boot in recovery (Volume down, accept call, on/off button)
- apply the downloaded zip.
reboot normaly, if it loads normaly, yay!
If it doesnt load (wait 5 mins to be sure) pull out battery.
reboot in recovery, and wipe data/cache (factory reset)
reboot normaly, if it loads normaly, yay!
If it doesnt load (wait 5 mins to be sure) pull out battery.
reboot in recovery, and make sure data, cache and system are rfs.
to change it to rfs 'advanced>filesystem conversion'
reboot normaly, if it loads normaly, yay!
if not send me a PM.
I already tried installing I5700XXJH6 and LK2.08 but neither the system nor the recovery mode would load - only the first, static bootlogo showed up. I can't try again because the download mode doesn't work any more and when i connect the charger, the screen remains black.
As I wrote in the first post, i managed to get it working once, but it had problems with the SIM card, so i tried different ROMs, which seems to have broken my spica entirely.
Is there anything i can do to restore the download mode?
im assuming you tried starting downloadmode without it being connected to a pc.
I dont know how to restore downloadmode, perhaps the guys at the samdroid forum can help you out.

[Q] cannot boot because of visiting recovery mode

Hi,
I have succesfully rooted my new S5 G900F with CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar.md5 and odin.
Before installing a custom recovery mode (TWRP), I was curious to see the original recovery mode, so I have rebooted my S5 with volume up, home and power button.
I have choosen the option "reboot". Now, I've got messages on white bacground, juste after the samsung logo, no access to the user interface.
Removing and replacing batterie is useless, because it comes again.
Theses messages says " multimédia service is goinf to stop" " MTP is going to stop". All services (deamon) stopped one after another.
Finaly I have tried the hard reset, and I can boot normaly, but if I come back in recovery mode, I must do a hard reset..... is there a raison ?
I hesitate to install TWRP now ...

i9505 unable to stay on

Hey everyone, I recently got an i9505 that...Is unable to boot and stay on. It doesn't get past the splash screen and reboots itself, the only way to let it stay on is booting in recovery mode or download mode. I tried flashing various Odin packages and PITs, but nothing changed, except for the fact that before it wasn't able to boot in recovery, while now it is. I tried booting with another battery, but the result is the same, and the problem isn't the power button since it doesn't reboots while in recovery or in download mode. Any suggestions to make this old thing work again? Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.
Hi,
Start by booting into recovery mode. Then clear the cache, after restore factory settings. Reboot the phone and give it 10 to 20 min to boot.

'System UI isn't responding' and 'Process system isn't responding' w/ restarts

(Moved from general discussion)
Hey all,
I've run into a bit of a pickle..
I replaced the screen on my S8 (SM-G950U) and after booting, it immediately gives 'System UI isn't responding' and/or 'Process system isn't responding'.
Shortly after (1-3 minutes) the phone will reboot. The errors may appear 1-2 more times before rebooting.
A bit of info:
Model: SM-G950U
OS: G950USQU4CRE9
Steps taken:
Clearing cache does nothing.
Factory reset via recovery mode has no change.
Flashing stock ROM (same version) with ODIN does nothing either.
Before restoring I was able to go in and see the RAM was reporting what I assume is normal (~30% usage)
Also the front camera was no longer working, but I've replaced that as well and haven't had the phone on for long enough to get through the initial setup to test.
Anyone have a potential solution / suggestion? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!
Edit:
It might also be worth noting that the shutdowns only happen after booting. There's no issue when entering recovery / download mode.
Havr you tried safe mode?
I know this is an old thread but hoping to get some guidance. I am facing the exact same issue on my at&t s8+ snapdragon as mentioned above. The device is unrooted and was with stock oreo rom. suddenly started showing either "system iu isn't responding" or "process system isn't responding". Later the device started hanging and kept restarting. It restarts from samsung logo instead of the device model name unless force restarted. This cycle keeps happening. I am able to access download mode and recovery without any problem. recovery initially shows "installing update" followed by "no command" but then works normally. The device doesn't power off even from recovery, it keeps rebooting. I have tried (1) cache wipe (2) factory reset from recovery (3) safe mode (4) installed stock rom without problem (5) installed latest stock s8+ unlocked xas pie rom without problem (6) installed latest stock s8+ sprint version pie rom without problem but i am unable to even end the initial device setup as the device keeps hanging with these errors and restarts. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Stuck on "Starting Android..."

Hi Guys
I used Odin to reflash my Galaxy S10+ dual sim (duos) as it was experiencing some slowness. I used the Singapore firmware as it uses the same "G975FXXU1ASBA" model name.
The process completed successfully but when the phone boots, it gets past the Samsung logo screen and then gets stuck on a blank black screen with "Starting Android..." showing in the middle. I can swipe down from the top to show the toolbar, but it is limited in what I can select from it and the phone doesn't get to the point where the home screen boots.
I'm guessing this could be an app optimization process but after 4 hours, it was still on this screen.
I've tried re-flashing (redownloading the firmware files), clearing the cache and rebooting the phone.
Does anyone have any ideas?
In case you do want to start clean anyway, have you tried doing a reset in the recovery menu (where you are wiping the cache)? This will wipe all data.
I may have to try the full wipe, which is something I wanted to avoid but seems I have no choice.
Hopefully that at least solves the problem.
I have the same problem but I cannot get it to boot into recovery or download mode. I was flashing Magisk at the time. Odin said it worked but now it wont pass the initial stating android... Odin detects the phone but can talk to it. ADB does not even detect the phone. Phone power and reset come on. if i hold both volume the assistant comes on and if i hold bixby the safemode tag appears in the bottom corner but it still wont boot past Starting Android or boot into download mode
