Hey xda,
I've got a small question today I got my Samsung galaxy s5, and after a few hours of using it I noticed that when I scroll through a darkish /black colour there is some kind of purple glow.. It's kinda hard to explain.. But when I scroll through a black page with some pictures in it I get some kind of glow it kinda looks like ghosting.
Does anyone has the same kind of experience?
Sorry for the bad English.
Yeah, it is normal in the super amoled since they turn off the pixels in black images and they have a bit delay bettwen off and turn them on when the images change.
Yo.
I'm still wondering if my S5 screens is as good as it's supposed to be. I have 2 major concerns, screen uniformity and purple trails.
I come from an ancient S1, and nothing of this happened. I have attached a single color pic that shows clearly how screen have a soft gradient from top to bottom on my phone. When I put basic colors (RGBYWB from test modes or apps) nothing of this is apparent at all, and screen looks gorgeus, but this color and some other grays show what I'm talking about. I would be grateful if you load the pic in full screen mode and tell your impressions. Offscreen shots would be welcome too.
Also, about the purple trails when moving on screen pitch blacks, it affects every screen or only some unfortunate ones? S1 never show anything similar. Max bright reduces it, but nor completly.
Greetings.
Hi
When i zoom the camera to the maximum on a dark surface, i see some pixels playing to white and black on the screen, just like dead pixels on lcd. Did you realize anything like that ?
To test, set the brightness to maximum, put the phone on a table or something, on camera face, set the zoom to the mximum, and see the playing 10-15 pixels on the screen
Is it normal ?
Thx

Sounds like high ISO noise, try using pro mode and setting the ISO to 100.
You might get litres noise.
I wouldn't worry though, it's not like this is under normal shooting conditions. If you weren't zoomed in all the way on a dark surface you wouldn't get the issue.
I'd be more concerned with black pixels when zoomed in fully on a brightly lit white surface.
Some pictures of what you're seeing might help us help you better.

Agreed.. besides OP, how on earth did you discover that... that could be any number of things... as wiccan said, could be ISO, could be laser reflection from the surface, could be phase detection or auto focus error... could be anything...
the only time you should worry about dead pixels is.. if your standard images have white/black squares on them or your LCD has empty pixels.. but other than that.. putting your phjne on a surface, lense down over with the camera on... well that could show anything...
Thanks for the replies. When i zoom on a white surface, there is no dead pixel, that is a good thing. I just wanted to share it, because my old one m8 does not have anything like that and everytime same pixels on the screen flickers. Anyway, trying to joy of using my ultra.
Thx

If you're colorblind, please disregard this thread. Rate this thread to express how you deem the color saturation and accuracy of the Xiaomi Mi 8's display. A higher rating indicates that you think that color accuracy is very high and saturation is excellent.

Yesterday i got a mi 8 6/128 and i found for now 2 issues till now the first one is that when i want to take slow motion video it flickers a red light like hell, the second one is the screen itself when holding the phone and looking at it straight in front the color of the screen seems a bit yellowish also the colors are a bit under saturated when i see the screen from a side view even from bottom or from any side the colors pops out and the white backround is white as it should be i think it has something to do with the front glass that covers the panel and i don't know if there is a way to fix that, i use cool color reproduction on settings but it still annoys me.

I haven't noticed any screen issues on mine, but i have taken a lot of slow motion videos (both in 120/240fps and in 1080/720p) and i've not seen a red light at all.

good evening, today I'm here not for a problem (strangely) but to ask for help, you know a good camera with which I can photograph beautiful sunsets without the colors being distorted, like if the sky is pink I would like to see it pink in the room and not orange, if you know what I mean.
