HERE and seems the unique method atm.
Hey guys. I just bought a Verizon S7 Edge today and I've read online I can convert it to a full T-Mobile version with wifi calling, get updates, etc. Is there a guide to do this anywhere? I searched, but couldn't find it.
I wouldnt recoomend it. Once you flash the T-Mobile rom, you cannot go back to Verizon due to different bootloader versions, which means you will lose your warranty.

Wouldn't you be able to flash back to Verizon after? I'd like the wifi calling and upcoming updates for better lte speeds on T-Mobile.

No you will not be able to flash back to Verizon because T-Mobile is on bootloader v3 and Verizon is on v2. You cannot go down versions. It's entirely possible, in fact it's exactly what I did but I do regret the move. I would recommend flashing the U firmware which is the US unlocked version of the s7e. That will unlock pretty much all of the bands and you should be able to get wifi calling and you can flash back to Verizon.

Thanks, do you think the u firmware will get the updates for the 4x4 mimi etc that are coming to T-Mobile shortly for faster speeds? Also, is it possible Verizon will eventually go to a v3 bootloader and thus be able to flash back again? Do you have a link to the guide to be able to flash the U firmware?

Yes 4x4 mimo should be twice as fast as Tmobile. There's a chance that Verizon and U will be updated to bl3 but there's no way to know. Honestly I would flash U and stick with it.

Do you think the U version will get these updates? http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...speeds-takes-dump-verizon-sprint-att-process/
Also does flashing U firmware void warranty or trip knox?

I don't think U will get mimo but do you realistically need it? I dont know about warranty, but it will not trip knox.

Not really, but faster speeds are always good in some slower areas.

Fair point. Just know that if you do this, you cannot go back and it will void warranty. If you want to do it, just download the tmobile version firmware, download odin from that post that I linked to and flash using the instructions from the post.

Yes, that's what I did originally. You just can't go from T-Mobile -> U.

No. It won't. 1 S7 has had issue and the story had very little details. Also, almost 30 of the 92 Note 7 issues reported in the states turns out to be bs.

Yes. I have an unlocked S7E which is the firmware in question and I'm on TMO. It does work. Nothing TMO offers right now has had issues as far as I can see. :good:

Where do I turn on wifi calling? I couldn't find it in the settings.
-edit- Nevermind, I turned off the phone, put my sim card in, and restarted and it popped up. It wasn't showing up due to the fact I put the sim card in while the phone was on I guess.

Hii,
Sorry for the questions, but it would be really nice if you could help me.
I recently got a s7 edge verizon model as it was way cheaper. I wanted your inputs on flashing either the unlocked or tmobile version. i understand that U version is better as there is chance to revert to verizon ROM.
Sorry i do not know certain basic things.
Does verizon model have all bands and just verizon did not open them up??
Do u get all bands on U version that tmobile uses once you flash with U-version
Can u get tmobile wifi calling HD voice features on the U-version
Any other advantages and disadvantages of either version?
other than the bootloader v2 vs v3.
will i get get updates with tmobile and what about samsung pay and android pay?
will samsung pay and android pay work on flashed Unlocked ROMS, i do not intend on rooting the phone.
If i flash the tmobile version will it be tmobile sim locked ??

I have the U verison you do not get the video calling but you get HD voice, wifi calling, and etc. You get all the bands that each carrier uses on the U model.

Exactly what i wanted.
Thanks, what about samsung pay and android pay, will they work?
Hello all,
Apologies in advance, I have been away from the flashing scene since Nexus 4 days. I recently purchased a US unlocked S7E from Best Buy. I am wondering if:
1) Can I flash the AT&T firmware so that I can gain wifi calling, and other at&t features like HD voice?
2) Would there be any drawbacks to doing that?
I purchased unlocked since I am considering switching to T-Mobile soon. I heard that T-Mobile wifi calling and HD Voice work out of the box with stock, unlocked firmware, but apparently AT&T doesn't work without the ATT firmware... Is that correct?
Thanks,
Flashed the AT&T firmware on a TMobile S7e to get those features and have had no down side to the change.

That's good news, are you able to use Samsung Pay, or does flashing trip KNOX? Also, do you know if it is possible to flash back without issue?

I've gone back and forth a few times no Samsung pay issues either. This does not yep Knox. If you are on the U phone make sure you flash the correct version of the att firmware. Not sure if the U phone has V4 bootloader or not yet.

Hey guys... I have an S7 edge duos and I want to switch to Verizon but my phone isn't compatible... so I was thinking about selling it and getting the US unlocked version (SM-G935U). Is there a root for this phone? I'm thinking kingroot might work but I haven't found any posts via google search to confirm. Thanks ahead of time.
There is using a engineering kernel, but it give bad battery life and performance.

This appears to have all the information needed to root this device. I didn't try myself since not being able to use a custom recovery due to the locked bootloader leaves little to be enjoyed.

At&t s7 edge can be rooted but the bootloader cannot be unlocked. So no twrp and no custom roms.
