I had enabled mine on oreo, updated to pie last evening and everything was fine even after update.
You can manually enable it again if it didn't carry on from oreo.

Nice option to lock the screen using fingerprint
The gear icon is in your first screenshot.

I dont think that it will happen. Because people who already got it officially must be able to receive the updates in future. they wont opt in for the testing if thats not the case. mostly its the same update that will be official.
if you are already updated dont worry and enjoy the nougat. if not there are few methods in forum to downgrade which you can find easily .

I was wondering if the procedure described in this guide can be used to enable camera 2 API on Redmi Note 4 without installing a custom recovery.
We can install Magisk without installing a custom recovery as shown in that guide so i was wondering if we can enable camera 2 API through adb shell as shown in the Mi A1 subforum. We could just install Magisk, enable the API through ADB shell and remove Magisk afterwards. There shouldn't be any problems with OTA updates with this procedure as long the API remains enabled after updates and doesn't get overwritten.
Of course we don't have to lock the bootloader again.
I tried and it worked, i installed Magisk and enabled Camera 2 API with this method and i can use Google Camera (the scrubber version with API 24).
I'm waiting for first OTA to see if the settings survive the update or get overwritten.

Stock camera works fine for me, with or without HDR.
I'm on last official global beta rom if that matters (8.4.19).
P.s. Google camera is so much better.

Yes he can be locked again, but you can leave it unlocked if you want since it doesn't create any problem with OTA updates.
Remember that this method is permanent only if you don't factory reset your phone.

I'm on a totally stock MIUI Global Beta 8.4.26.
I can't help you with GCam because i have only used the scrubber 24 version which is working fine for me because i have a Samsung sensor, as far as i know the fix for the pink tint needs flashing a file through TWRP recovery so i don't think it can be done with stock firmware.

Camera 2 api remains enabled. Just rember that now in MIUI 10 Google Camera doesn't work anymore, works only in MIUI 9.
I have seen that nobody shared this informations: openkirin is working on lineageos, resurrection remix, carbonrom and omnirom. These are treble ROMs and openkirin has published beta previews that support our device, we have fully working cameras with stock emui camera app on every rom( with all functions), every rom works perfecly, no bugs, no issues, everything works, I only faced with overheating caused by fast charger that I fixed using a normal charger. You find links on openkirin telegram group, keep in mind that these are only previews so things could be even better. (Thanks openkirin)

No. No volte. The openkirin team will tell you the exact same thing. And sorry but those who pay attention to xda about Oreo know these images already exist. They've been discussed here for well over a month.
I don't think the Treble ROMs are working very well. I've Tried LOS Beta 5 from openkirin's website. Factory reset using custom recovery after Flashing the LOS system image didn't work. However the ROM booted and there was some issues like, random google error message pop-ups and both the camera apps aren't working. I've tried this thoroughly by following the installation guide on their website but still had these issues. Any suggestions or help is welcomed.
You should NOT use custom recovery at all.

i have Android 8, emui 4.2 and i want to flash one of these roms. Root and open bootloader is there.
Somebody has an idea what the perfect procedure to flash one of this roms is? First Oreo than the rom? Thanks

You first need to update to Oreo, yes. Neither Marshmallow nor Nougat support Treble ROMs.
Depending on where you live and what model you own you probably need to rebrand though. Or you wait until Honor/Huawei rolls out the update for your region, which shouldn't take TOO long anymore.

Just bear in mind... installation needs to be done through fastboot and not through twrp.. Also its also recommended that you extract the stock files like ramdisk etc. so that incase something goes wrong you would be able to go back to it

Thanks for the tips. And yes I flashed via fastboot not twrp. But if you please, could you write down exact steps to flash this ROM considering I'm on EMUI 8 with stock Recovery... And what would be the exact steps that I need to do next.
Are you using Magisk 16.x? And it works with fingerprint and PIN set on the device?

I'm experiencing similar things.
SD card doesn't get recognized/system says it's corrupted which is obviously isn't, root via ramdisk method works but Magisk is buggy and modules just won't install, WiFi randomly turns off or disconnects with no pattern behind it... I've tried both LOS (twice) and ROS (once) and they both have similar problems. Guess I'll have to stay on EMUI then... *sigh*

hello friends, i have A2 on stock rom with april security patch, not a beta tester.
I was wondering if the beta testers of A2 got the may security patch, and does it have any improvements?
EDIT: live in Bosnia

Still no camera2api
Looking forward for the new bugs.
The update is about 100mb
I'm in deep doubt that Google will allow Xiaomi or other manufacturer the cam2api to be enabled in Andrid One program, and don't expect it to be turned on sometime)
