after using the "Odin3 One-Click Downloader" my i9000 only loops the att logo on and off, recovery mode and download mode are no longer working... had anyone experienced this?
well this is f...ed up..... my i9000 was unbranded, and that one click crap must have flashed the captivate fw or smth, should i let my phone die in peace now?
There are different oneclick apps for different branded SGSs. Which one did you download? Sounds like you downloaded the AT&T version.
You have to boot your phone into download mode again to flash the correct ROM for your specific phone. There are many different ways to get the phone into download mode. Check the dev forum or instructions.

"[STOCK ROM] Odin3 One-Click Downloader and Drivers" I've downloaded this one... and i cant boot into download mode, the 3 button methods died on me
Its for captivate.... And your phine iscompletely bricked. Needs a new mother board.
Why people download weird **** from untrusted sources?

Phone is completely bricked. Happened to me, and a few others too. Seems that these one-click odin downloaders do more harm than good. Hahaha...
Anyway, phone is bricked. Samsung replaced the motherboard for me. Luckily it's under warranty at no cost to me..

What untrusted source? He went into Captivate forum here in XDA to download Captivate stock ROM. What do you think the outcome will be?
it might cost you around $150 or so, if i remember reading a recent post about a guy replacing his mb too. I think he had the same problem as you.

well, so far, i've found out that by flashing the i9000 (unbranded) with a captivate FW remapped all the buttons except for the power button, so download mode or recovery mode is impossible via any button combination. But if the phone does show something on the screen, its still only semi-bricked, in my case, its stuck at the bootloader. its fixable with JTAG ... i hope the service i took it to has a jtag device and will reflash to the i9k FW. and it would only cost me 10$ for the repairs
who had a similar experience?
I had exactly the same problem, after updating my phone through kies which failed halfway through i downloaded odin which at the time i didn't know was the wrong one and not for the i9000. in the end i had to get a new phone.

well my sgs is not fully bricked, it does not need a new motherboard... it just needs to be reflashed with jtag or smth >.<
a fully bricked (faulty) device would not turn on at all
allright, so just by flashing the phone with that one click odin crap, the repairs are going to cost me 250$
Hello guys! I need some help
I was flashing a stock firmware with kdz updater on my LG E400, following all instructions
Flashing goes through all the way and at the end i get:
Upgrade
error WParam: 100, LParam: 6
Phone boots and all but when i fix in my USB cable i don't see the icon in the status bar hence can't send files from computer or do Adb commands
I guess its USB bricked
Looked for solutions all over but they don't seem device specific and i fear bricking my phone for good
Any help is much appreciated!

have you try to do a hard reset after kdz flashing?
Code:
in off position, press n hold home + vol down + power buttons together. be sure you press that power button at the last one...
will be wipe your data, cache and internal sd partitions by doing this. if you have any important files in int-sd, then back it up first ( move it to ext-sd )
let see if it work or not.....
Cool. I'd done a factory reset and didn't fix it, let me the hard reset and see what comes out of it

let's hope that'd software problem. you just install any custom roms you like, and your problem should be fixed. but if it's not, then you have to send it to service center for fix that hardware....
good luck
OK. Thanks

Fixed it!
finally managed to fix it. Problem was with the firmware I was installing. I chose a firmware from another country of origin with a version that wasn't released for my phone's country. got the right kdz for my country and flashed it successfully fixing the brick.
I even managed to root it this time round! (the whole reason I flashed a different firmware in thw first place was because of failure to root)
Everything is good now. thanks to all that replied

if u did what I did and got USB brick, its from flashing the wrong kdz file. there's an app for finding the right kdz file by giving it just your serial number of the phone. it's what I used cause I wasn't sure of the right country of origin of my phone. try using that app, and flash the kdz like before. and make sure its a COMPLETE download. watch it all the way. try that
Using advice from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34700586&postcount=4 you can determine which firmware version to use based on your phone IMEI.
Hello,
I bought a Samsung Note 3 and I did factory reset and now when I put my sim card it doesnt work it says "Invalid IMEI" I tried some number tricks for engineer mode ect. , but it says invalid imei. Can someone please help me?

Sounds like your IMEI has been blocked, youmay need to revisit the shop/person you bought it from.

If you have it then find a repair shop with an octopus box, they can rewrite it.

No-one here will tell you how to do it with a step by step guide as it is illegal in most countries.
If the IMEI is blocked and you bought it from a shop then take it back...
If you bought from someone then you have a phone that's been reported stolen and/or has been replaced by insurance. Either of these thing can get you in trouble with he law as you are using stolen property (it is the insurance companies property if replaced under insurance).
Good luck. But seriously, I wouldn't stuff around with it as you may get in big trouble... Get your money back...
Hi.
It is weared that after a factory reset you lost your IMEI. this is written in the efs partition in the root of your phone and usually gets lost if u flash custom roms.
Have u unrooted your phone and install any rom right after that factory reset?
If u r rooted, install x-plorer and look if u have any backup of your efs folder. There are some methods to restore and first save your efs partition. That is the the place where your IMEI, ip, serial no, Bluetooth and wireless no. are written. Without this u can not use your phone with your network.
I had the similar problem with my s3 and very hardly restored my IMEI. On xda are a lot of methods about this, and on other forums. For me it took 2 weeks of searching and I finally did it with a method but at least I had a efs partition saved. There are methods how to do it if u do not have efs saved but not all will work.
Try this steps:
1.If u never rooted your phone u might go back to the shop for repair.
2.if u are rooted u can flash back the stock rom, stock recovery, use Triangle Away that u can find for free on xda to reset the counter of your device to 0 so u get back your warrantee and bring it back to repair.
3.if u want to try for your own just search on xda and in Internet(youtube) about restoring imei.
4.There is a guy from Poland that can restore it through team viewer for 10 euros,if your model do not require a special cable. U can find him on xda or I might give u link but I am not home yet.
5.there is a program to install on your Windows that allows you to rewrite your IMEI in the phone but if u write another imei is illegal. I could not do it just bcs my windows 7 do not recognize the ports in device manager so neither the program could not see the phone connected even if in my computer I could see it.
6.u may try to go to a normal repairing shop to restore imei. They have that cable and a small electronic device and with a click they restore it. In Bruxelles cost me 45euros but in London and US they say is about 10-20 DOLLARS or Pounds.
I wrote u a lot but let me know in which stage u r.

Can someone pls. help me. I have a rooted Lenovo IdeaTab A3000-H that accidentally got soft bricked after I edited build.prop on /system/build.prop
Info:
Model Number: Lenovo A3000-H
Android Version: 4.2.2
USB Debugging: Disabled
Currently Bootable To: Stock Recovery and Fastboot
(I could boot to ADB but it could only do sideload commands)
I have a recovery.img (CWM) that I can't flash since my PC can't detect my tablet while it's turned off
(And also if possible, can someone give me an original unmodded Lenovo A3000-H build.prop.bak and CWM flashable zip compatible for my tab.)
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you can get in fastboot mode you should be able to flash a CWM recovery.img, no need for a CWM flashable zip.
You can also try adb pushing a copy of your original build.prop to replace the faulty one, you can extract it from your stock firmware if its available for download and use the extracted copy or you can extract the build.prop from whatever custom ROM you were on if you had Custom installed.
I'm not saying these are your definite fix, they are just some things for you to look into.

1) it says that my tablet doesnt support flashing partitions through flashboot
2) my backup for my build.prop is in my internal storage(phone storage). And that is why I'm asking if any of you guys have an original copy of build.prop.bak so that I could try to flash it using my stock recovery
3) whenever I try to do adb commands, I always get the error "error:closed"
PS: I only have stock recovery and I can't flash using SP Flash Tool because I don't have my USB Debugging turned on
BTW sorry if I sometimes/always reply late... It's because my timezone is different, because I live in the Eastern Countries...

That's because you don't have USB debugging turned on, without that turned on your only option is to restore your device with your stock firmware. I don't think you are going to get much as far as answers here at XDA, you should take the device to a repair shop.
If you can boot to fastboot then you should be able to flash your stock firmware and restore the device.

well... I could boot to fastboot but it says that it doesnt support flashing partitions using fastboot...

I don't believe flashing a custom recovery through your stock recovery is even possible. You can't flash custom through stock recovery, you can only flash stock files and updates through stock recovery.
If you get the build.prop how do you plan to put it back where it goes? You said that USB debugging is not turned on so adb won't work, thats probably why fastboot isn't working either.
If you want to try the build.prop then download your stock firmware and extract the build.prop file from the firmware and use the extracted file.

If you mean to flash it through stock recovery I doubt it will work, you can see if there are any stock updates in zip format for your model that can be flashed in stock recovery, if you were rooted it probably won't work though because you have to be unrooted and have an unmodified system partition to apply a stock update.
Your device isn't hard bricked yet so there should be something you can do, I just don't know the details of your model. You may have to take it to a repair shop.

I don't think so but don't quote me, it'll either flash an succeed or fail, I doubt it will make things worse.
Have you looked at the possibility of using an extsdcard and a debrick.IMG or its equivalent to boot from a bootable extsdcard the same as PC does with a bootable USB? If it works on your device like it does some other devices you can boot into system from extsd and then do what you need to do to fix your device then return the sdcard to normal use after you are going again on its own.

An admin won't be able to help you. All android devices are different, they vary drastically from one model to the next, no one here knows about every device, you are going to have to find other users with your device or you will have to find a developer that works on your device, they will know what you need, we aren't all experts with all devices, we each know the devices that we have personally owned and used.
The disconnecting every three seconds is because you are still in a bootloop, it boots to flash mode then loops and boots again, over and over, it can't find the right stuff to boot the way it needs to.

First of all, thank you in advance for helping me!
I got an GT-I9505 for free because the guy didn't want it anymore, but there's a problem.
It's flashed with the rom of another S4 model, SGH-I337. Because of that some things don't work really well (WiFi don't work at all)
Trying to flash the correct rom with Odin, or with the rom on SD in the recovery menu, both fails.
Someone can give me some directions on this? I would really appreciate!
Thank you all!
Use the original cable and the rear USB ports.
Try every Windows and Odin version possible.
Flashing a stock ROM through the original recovery is not possible.
Boot into download mode and confirm that the model # is gt-i9505. What is the Odin error?
It shows "START [224, 1440]" in download mode, and Odin says "Can't open the specified file".
Yes, I have admin rights, the file is on a folder located on C:\stuff\, yes I have redownloaded the file, and shows the same error.
Boot into download mode and confirm that the model # is gt-i9505. What is the Odin error?

No point doing that, as I said it's flashed with the rom of a different model. In download mode shows SGH-I337 but thats incorrect. Behind the battery says i9505 and i'm pretty sure that it's correct, since it's the model sold on my country.
Thank you all!

I managed to install ClockWorkMod using Odin to see if I could install it from there, but no luck...

You're wrong.
That sticker can be easily replaced. You can put the sticker of an S7 on it, but that doesn't make an S7, does it?
Anyway, download mode is not affected in any way, shape or form, by a software change.
If download mode says it's that model, then it sure as hell is.

That sticker can be easily replaced. You can put the sticker of an S7 on it, but that doesn't make an S7, does it?
Anyway, download mode is not affected in any way, shape or form, by a software change.
If download mode says it's that model, then it sure as hell is.

I had seen the phone before the guy that gave me mess it up.
It was I9505.
-edit-
I think I started to understand what is going on here...
Right now I noticed a really really small sticker that says "Serviço Técnico" (Technical Service) like a small warranty...
I think someone repaired this thing and replaced the main board! Is that possible...?

Yes, it is possible.
As I said, no matter how many times you change the software, the model in download mode will not change.
Download mode is hard-coded. I'm pretty sure it's not possible (or very very hard) to change the info displayed there. So if it says it's a I337, then it is a I337.
Info in "About phone" or stickers can be easily changed or replaced with something else.
Looks like the phone is an i337 as I suspected which means you will need to flash the i337 rom via Odin or flash fire, depending on whether the bootloader is locked.

He already has the correct ROM. He says it's a GT-I9505 flashed with a I337 ROM.
But download mode says it's a I337. So it means he has the correct ROM.
If the phone is flashed with the correct at&t rom, the wifi should work. The wifi may need a complete reflash to work or the wifi chip defective.
Thank you all for your time. How can I mark this as resolved?
I don't think you can. But you can change the title and add "Solved" to it or something.
