Please advise how to ROM my Zenpad 10 - Asus ZenPad 10 Questions & Answers

Its been about 5 years since I put a ROM onto anything and even then I did not know exactly what I was doing. However with help and patience of the kind peeps on this site I was successful.
I am hoping to breath new life into my trusty and faithful ASUS Zenpad 10 and was hoping for advice on how I could install a ROM.
I can confirm that the Zenpad is NOT rooted.
Or is it best to leave well alone and don't break it if it ain't broken?

Hey I'm in the same boat with the clone of your device called the Asus Trio TX201LA. The memo pad shares the same 4.2 rom, same IFIW, Same soc, same droidboot version etc etc. Basicly its just got an all alluminum case but same exact tablet. Mine can run ME302c ROM but camera and doc support is lost. I am working on a rom using BLISS. If you are still looking to update PM me. Perhaps we can work on this together.

Team Bliss is a lil less helpful then I thought they would be, I have had little to no guidance being a noob. So unfortunately I have not gotten it off the ground, nor would I be able to with a locked bootloader anyway. I still use the windows half of the tx201la nearly daily as my main machine and love it. I wish the android could be updated and the me302c shares a lot in common. I have asked asus to look into offering unlock because that would allow me to test a lot of builds already available like the one made for the galaxy tab 3 10.1 which shares the same soc and may possibly boot up on my tablet and even the me302c. If we pester asus to release an unlock tool like they have for just about every single zenfone 2, 3, 4 and 5 (all the older zenfones have the same intel soc family) we are half way there to getting a rom since there has been so much development for this soc already in the zenfone and galaxy tab 3 10.1. Asus is somewhat required to give us something since the atom z2560 is susceptible to the spectra variant 3 (newest called next gen) and if they offer any sort of update it would be an upgrade for us. It maybe advisable to start a petition to get this done. Would you want to try that route, we need unlock first and foremost and its most likely we can convince asus to do that with enough signatures or a small claims lawsuit even. thoughts?
Hi guys, We all have the same issue, a beutiful "still" working tablet with no support.
I read several people asked for a petition or to pay a dev to work on a rom.
If you all are thinking it is worth we could **** how many people around the world
Have still this tablet, or should I open another topic?

Is it possible to get pure android on ZC520TL

I'm kind of newbie, so I'm sorry if I posted anything wrong.
I'm used to a nexus 5x with "pure" android, so now that I'm using a ZC520TL I dont like it very much.
Is there a way to have the ZC520TL with android pure? some rom or something?
Please help me out.
I've had a ZC520TL for about 7 months, constantly trying to get rid of the default firmware, or at least root it, but no luck. The mediatek processor doesn't really allow you to do much tinkering. Definitely regret buying this phone
I too was thinking of getting this phone, coming for a nexus 5X but i noticed the one on special is the mediatek variant and we know they are not GPL compliant or allow unlocking bootloader

ZenPad 10 Oreo update

Hi,
Any news if our device will get Android Oreo and if yes, by when?
I've read somewhere that in order for any manufacter to use Android on their device's, Google requires them to update at least twice the Android version of each released device -- is this correct? We got Nougat and if this is true, we should also get Oreo...
Thanks.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 getting its Oreo update... Asus? Helo? Even the security patches stop coming...
here's what I've got from asus :

Need an advice from fellow users

Hello everyone , it's my first time doing a thread in this forum , i hope i contribute in this community a lot in the future.
So i ordered a Max Pro M1 and it will arrive in a week , before that i really did my research on every update that Asus provided this phone since may 2018, the problem is since last month and the pie update, many users didn't seem quite happy with the performance of the software , so is there any chance i can have just the updates without the Pie upgrade? and do you recommend if i install another ROM ?
Thank you for reading and i will really be happy if you give me your opinion on the matter. ?
Just update the phone as usual, but when it tells you there's a Pie update, don't install it. Besides, Pie hasn't arrived until now. It's been released before but it was pulled back because it was very unstable.
Personally, when I buy this device (I plan to) I'll just go ahead and install a custom ROM. I mean, that's the reason I get an Android phone, to be able to customise the software.
I am staying on Oreo. Last version is 340 and it is also considered the best version. My colleague bought this phone last week and received 340 update too, so I think that Pie (050) is not in distribution for now.
