I bought a 6P and a TL-WN722 (V1) to get Andrax or Nethunter running. I've rooted the device using Magisk and have Andrax working but i cant get the wifi dongle to recognize or green light. Ive read about modprobe and custom kernals but im not really sure what im meant to do and in what order. I dont want to brick my new 6P.
Also i failed to install nethunter (via Magisk dl) - i point to the kalifs-arm64-full.tar.xz file (i rename that file) - it seems to install but then when i go to Install & Update and select Nethunter the chroot seems not to have worked and i go round the install chroot loop again. Maybe this is linked to my incorrect kernal???
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

I've been trying to build FTDI_SIO module for my Nexus 7 - unlocked and rooted 4.2.1 (Linux version 3.1.10-g22b4fcd ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) )
I've used different toolkits (arm-linux-gnueabi- / arm-eabi- / arm-linux-androideabi-) with .config from Nexus ( with enabled ftdi_sio module) but everytime when I try to load freshly built module Nexus says... "insmod: can't insert 'ftdi_sio.ko': invalid module format"
I am not sure where I make mistake... wrong toolkig/kernel/other. Could someone point me to correct combination? or maybe someone can cook this module for me?
Thanks
I HAVE ALREADY POSTED THIS TO XDA ASSIST. THEY REDIRECTED ME HERE.
I am basically a noob, but I know my way around computers and I can do a few advanced things. I can follow instructions well. So, could you please tell me, could I install a Custom ROM onto my device? (See title).
I HAVE FOUND AN APK INSTALLER FILE HERE: light-science.com/cyanogenmod-installer-apk-download/ . I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS SAFE OR NOT. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THE GUYS @ CM PULLED THEIR OFFICIAL INSTALLER BECAUSE OF SOMETHING CALLED STAGEFRIGHT. I don't think that bug should affect my Tab, because it will not be receiving MMS messages.
I am looking to install CyanogenMod (12). My device is rooted. I am unaccustomed to installing Custom ROMs, in fact this is my first attempt. If there are already instructions on this, please point me that way. I'm new to these forums, but I have used them to solve some of my problems.
Stock SAMSUNG ROM is installed.

Edit: these flags are based off of QA6
Edit2: I wonder if we could find a dev with the Qualcomm version of the s7 (china), grab the Odin files, (AP,BL,CP) (flash your own csc carrier) and use CROM SERVICE

Look guys, I know things look bad for the QUALCOMM variants, but with a good team of devs, we can do this! I'm tired of this crap that our OEM'S give us.
Stuff is too advanced for me but seems like some good ideas. I agree, we can do it if we work as a team.
I'm not a developer but, let me know how I can help. Can do basic odin flashes and such.
I wouldove to help in anyway I have been wanting this phones bootloader unlocked for a while now. I have the Sprint variant SM-G935P. please contact me.
There isn't a lot of info here, but this might be a lead.
http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwvuP0_Tk
Now we are getting somewhere, Let's attempt use bootstomp on 6.0.1 odin files all the way up to the latest 7.0
I would be glad to help and do some research, i dont know too much lingo but I can figure it out
@Devman-0903 , we can't use China's firmware, different partition sizes :/
Some new apps are not compatible and won't download. I want to get this device updated/upgraded to a very recent Android version. Can someone direct me to the procedure?
Note that I have never hacked this device, nor any other device. But its my favourite.

Lou

A good starting point is search for your model device on youtube on installing twrp, which is a replacement for the stock recovery.

BTW I have a background in computer design so I understand terms like "ROM image" and "rooting", but a few clarifications will help:
1 - How do I back up my tablet's data so that it can be "imported" back into the upgraded device? I assume there is Win 10 software for this?
2 - After much reading, does TWRP Recovery replace the Android v5.1.1 or just its recovery software or is 5.1.1 still there? Must I choose a TWRP version for a specific device or Android version- like my T330NU?
3 -How does LineageOS fit into this? It appears to be a custom ROM that is installed after TWRP Recovery. Does TWRP Recovery help load LineageOS?
4 - After installing TWRP recovery, MUST I install a (custom) ROM? Is the ROM where the functionality and GUI reside that replace the old Android version?
5 - Is milletwifi a custom ROM? (Its not on a list?) Do the custom ROMs typically have WIFI or must I look for ones that do?

Hello, i have an old android car device and i updated it because it became very slow and i couldn't use it anymore... But it seems i put wrong firmware, now its working faster but the problem is that the resolution is not correct and it cut off the screen. The problem is that i don't have much information for the device, i tried to put many different firmwares but i get the same error message: "Fail, please check usb and files" This is the information that i have:
before the update:
Model:
8227L
Android version:
9
Kernel version:
3.18.79 (gcc version 6.3.1.20170404 (Linaro GCC 6.3-2017.05)) [email protected]#72

Custom build version:
alsps-mo-o1.mp5
And the screen shots are after the update. I tried to update it trough the both usb ports but it didnt work, should i try to do it trough the SD card? If someone has similar device or problem please let me know if you have any solution, also if you have the right firmware. The pictures are after the update. Also i cant find much information about the device because i bought it 4 years ago..
