I bought myself an unlocked AT&T s7 edge (SM-G935A) a while ago and recently flashed it with an SM-G935U firmware. I didn't flash the 935A version cuz I thought it wouldn't work here in Malaysia (somewhere in Asia). After flashing it I had no problems using wifi but couldn't make calls even with a SIM card in it. I have tried flashing the 935FD version but couldn't get it to flash with Odin due to errors. I've even tried to buy an unlock code for the 935A version and that still didn't work. Any ideas?
I'm new here so hi.
modem problem
i had the same issue.
tip *#0011#... see if shows up the imei number and SN... look for CERTI FAIL
if true, just flash your stock rom ( what works normally) and then flash the U version without the CP File.

Hi,
I just purchased a Galaxy s5 sm-g9006v. This is the chinese unicon Samsung galaxy s5. It's unlocked.
I have a t-mobile sim. The phone works fine but the only problem is that it's only running 2g speeds! and i've been reading and i think it's a problem with the bands the phone is working on.
I've also been reading about changing the firm-ware modem but I need a little help.
My question :
Can I change the bands that my phone is using to t-mobile compatible bands to run hspa+ or lte or 4g ?
If so, is it as simple as flashing flashing t-mobile firmware from sammobile (sm-g900t) to my phone via odin?
And if I can fix it without having to flash the whole original firmware by just flashing the modem (which is 5mb), where can i get the modem for that firmware and how do I flash it alone ?
Thank you
I had bought s7 edge G935P , but I am in India , so for LTE bands to work I have been using the G935U firmware and got all the LTE bands, which Jio Carrier supports in India, but It didnt had the VoLTE Option, as I had seen that T Mobile , they support VoLTE, So, I had flashed the latest G935TUVU4APK1 G935T firmware, but this dosent work on Jio sim. But as this dont work, I badly need to switch back to G935U to get the requird LTE bands work as usual and use global mode on U firmware with no bloat of T Mobile . But Later on when I Tried Flashing the U firmware, It always failed, then when I digged into it found that, the installed T Firmware had Latest Bootloader than U and thus I cant flash back to the U, (maybe some efuse lock/trigger issue) . So, I just need to get back to U , is the answer simply NO? or do I need to wait until I get a latest bootloader update for U Fitmware? Or Any other way to get back to the U firmware? Please Help me... I need this BADLY.
Doubt- Can I use the Latest Bootloader of PK1 and flash the U Firmwares PEH1 , AP, CP and CSC ? would that work, or do any help to get back to U firmware?
Which G935U

Which G935U did you flash? I flashed my T-Mobile S7 Edge with G935TUVU4APK1 G935T to G935UUEU4API3 G935U and it flashed just fine.

Currently have a stock N910W8 (Unlocked, Telstra branding), thinking it would be a direct unlocked replacement for my N910T (T-Mobile USA SIM). However the N910W8 can't get 4GLTE no matter how many adjustments I make to the APN
The model number printed in the battery slot is the same, N910T. I thought this would be an easy switch.
I tried flashing the stock N910T firmware via ODIN but was unsuccesful. Kept getting a secure check fail about error using stock N910T DOK2 BL/CP and N910T EPK firmware. Do I not have the right versions?
Is there any other way to do this through ODIN without installing a recovery and rooting? Is it even possible?

Without root its impossible.
You need a modified custom rom from n910t that is compatible with n910w8.
in order to do that you need root and twrp recovery installed.
I beleive LTE bands are different in both models even if you flash n910t rom not sure you will get LTE.
And for wifi calling you will require N910T modem and with N910W8 its not compatible.

WiFi calling I can deal without, LTE I cant.
Just throwing it out there, why can't one flash N910T firmware on an N910TW8? The hardware between an N910W8 model is literally no different, the model number on the sticker of the N910W8 is N910T. It's not like I'm expecting N910T firmware to run on a Verizon or Sprint model.
There has to be some method to essentially brick a N910W8, removing all trace of N910W8 firmware, CP/CSC/BL data, then install N910T firmware and have it wake up in N910T hardware. Anyone?

Were you able to flash the Stock T-Mobile ROM to the W8 or did you have to root? I'm in the US and even after playing with all the settings the max Down/Up speeds I saw were 2Mbps/0.1Mbps on the Telstra N910W8, compared to my previous 50Mbps/50Mbps on the Tmo N910T.
No you will have to root....easy just flast team win with odin....then download su.zip and flash with your new recovery......why wouldnt you want to root?.......hell i still have my n910w8 motherboard rooted with custem rom if you interested in an extra. ..hope i dont get in trouble for saying that
I prefer to keep it unrooted for the OTA updates. Don't get that with root, updating would just be one more thing to keep up with.
Yes but me personally, like to update when i want to not when they decided i have postponed the update long enough and the next thing you know ur phones updated and u didnt get to have a say in it...but thats just me....not to mention first thing after root is removing all the blot and stupid apps ill never use...back ups are a life saver...iv bricked a device 6 or 7 times in a 12 hour period. ...
1. What about flashing the N910T PIT file along with the PDA, CSC, BL, and CP files for the N910T? What will stop this from succeeding?
2. What about a JTAG service?
3. Is there a differencertain between what ODIN does and using an unbrick image from a N910t from the SD card after a hard brick?
Open to anything at this point, except of course, using a 910TW8 firmware on 910T hardware which is all this is.

I did not flash stock t mobile ...i flashed a few custom t mobile roms...and thinking about it now i beleve there is a way to flash with out root useing ADB...so maybe look into that
I'm trying to get a Verizon sim to work in my G935T, have tried flashing the latest Verizon rom (G935VVRS8CRK2) but after odin succeeds, the phone just boots normally to the old T-Mobile software.
Should I just try to flash a G935U software instead? If so, do I flash the USA (T-Mobile) from updato?
hope this is the right category. i have a problem:
- started off with a 930f original factory unlocked (purchased in europe new from an independent hw vendor), eventually updated (itself) to 8.0.0
- used it with many carriers all over the world, no problems ever (love this phone).
- last year, i needed volte on t-mobile in the u.s., so i rooted (super su) and installed csc from cscselection_v2.4.5.zip (the one based on the s8 csc i guess)
- works great
BUT: to my surprise the phone now seems to be locked to t-mobile: tried to insert my european sim, one i've actually used it with before doing the root/csc, and got the locked prompt... (side note: the sim is ok, works in other phone.)
- it does not have the t-mobile unlock app.
- (i grabbed a version of the app from an apk archive), but it says my phone is not supported),
- t-mobile support says there's nothing they can do: the phone never was a t-mobile phone, and was original factory unlocked for most of its life
- how can i network unlock the thing? (i'm not willing to pay for a service until i'm certain it would "work")
any suggestions? thanks
Flash stock ROM and root with magisk.
i am/was on a stock rom. just applied csc. note: i still need volte and wifi calling on tmb, which i onnly get with the csc patch. if i apply stock, wont that revert the csc?

It would but it would also unlock your device, after unlocking your device you can try again with a different CSC.
Alternatvely you can use the codes available on the internet. Here is a full list of the codes.
hmm... i see... thanks. i'll try
