LGUP Chip Erase will wipe IMEI. Surely you knew that. Otherwise why use something if you don't know what it does?
See this page for description of the various LGUP functions:
https://9to5lg.com/lgup-1-15-manual-how-to-unbrick-restore-your-lg-devices-with-lgup/
3) ChipErase: * Dangerous* This will erase IMEI/efs, Do not try this if you do not have a NV backup.

No, because I don't want you to have my IMEI...
I'm sorry, and I do try to be helpful. But IMEI is a sensitive subject on XDA. There are rules about what can and cannot be discussed.
If you still have the box with your IMEI, there are methods to repair it. Google is your friend.

We understand and even sympathize with your predicament, but the IMEI is specific to your device. Every instruction set tells you to record you IMEI before you use LGUP. Because carriers use the IMEI to block and track devices on the network no one on this forum is going to assist you in getting a new one because of the legal issues that starts to get into. Our best suggestion is to try using google for alternatives.

[Q] [L7] Lost imei. How do I recovery it?

Hi,
A couple of months ago I lost my IMEI code due to an intrerupted KDZ flashing (my fault, don't panic, KDZ is a safe tool if you follow the steps). Luckly RIL still works, but when i dial *#06# it shows IMEI: 0 or null, depending on the rom.
I tried a few methods that were originally made for other lg phone but none seem to work. As far as I know, not all network operator allow connecting without IMEI and that's why i'm asking here about this.
Does anyone know how to get back my imei? I also read the service manuals on P700 (PM me for them) and i didn't find a thing. I really don't want to damage my phone and send it to warranty because of this

[HELP!] I think I messed up my EFS partition and I don't have a backup....

I was VERY stupid. I went back to stock Oxygen OS using a fastboot image and now if I dial #*06# the IMEI box shows up but no IMEI number is actually in the box it is just blank. I did post about this before but last time I didn't really know what happened I was asking if anyone could tell me what they thought happened. I am pretty sure I screwed up the EFS partition and I am just wondering what I need to do now. Is there some way I can repair it I mean I don't have a backup. Can I contact OnePlus support? I really need help.

This happened to me a few times in the past, all I had to do was wipe dalvik and cache again and it came back. Not sure if it's the same issue but I would give it a shot. Just boot into recovery and wipe them again and see if it gets you back up and running.

I cannot use that because my device is not hard bricked and it will not install the driver since I can enter the bootloader normally.
Not sure if you've seen this post its based on the post above but I think it just uses fastboot. Don't know if it will work for you, but figured it would be worth a shot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62973446&postcount=2
I tried using the tool and it did not work, I purposely hard bricked the device to try it and still no signal or imei. Another problem is WiFi takes about 4 minutes just to turn on but I can live with that I just want service.
Basically flashing back the stock should bring back the efs. Let's see if someone has a solution. Sorry!
EFS files are unique to each phone. If the EFS is corrupt or damaged, and there is no backup, I don't know of any way to fix it ;_; You can try OnePlus support but they aren't as dumb as carrier warranty or other phone manufacturers. They'll be more likely to know what you did.
It is possible to restore your imei number, I did it on my brothers lg g2. It requires some software for PC (I can't remember the name, you'll have to google it) and the box your phone came in with the imei number. It is possible, so don't lose hope!

As long as there isn't any device check in LGUP then you should be able to flash a t-mobile tot. Also the cellular radio will be the only thing that might brick. You should be able to flash back to sprint the same way that you flashed the t-mobile tot. Also that should fix the radio. Worst case scenario you loose your efs aka esn, imei and meid. However, they can be restored if you know how. In my opinion this sounds like it should work. I don't have a g5 and my g4 is in for repair so I cannot test currently. If someone tests this let us know if it works.

The dll is fine... On the G3 we used to have a dll that would allow flashing different versions from different carriers. That was back in the LG flash tool days though. I am pretty sure that the dll for LGUP allows this already but the only people that know for sure are those that have tried it and @autoprime.

Ok... They have to enter download mode and flash the bootloader partition using dd. First they have to get a list of partitions so they know what partition is the boot loader partition.
Code:
mount
should tell you what most of the partitions are. Then do backup your bootloader by doing
Code:
dd if=/path/to/block/bootloaderpartiton of=/sdcard/bootloaderbackup.bin
of course you have to change /path/to/block/bootloaderpartiton to the correct location. Then just flash the new bootloader using
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/bootloaderyouwanttoflash.bin bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/path/to/block/bootloaderpartition
again changing the /path/to/block/bootloaderpartiton to the correct location.
EDIT: I believe that the bootloader is aboot.bin or aboot.mbn when you extract the tot file. It doesn't matter what the file extension is. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

If you are in download mode you can run commands as root on the phone. The commands can be run using send_command.exe on windows.
OK I uploaded a zip with send_command.exe in it
To use it open cmd prompt and type.
Code:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM4
replacing 4 with whatever your com port is (you can find this under device manager com ports)
You should see a # where you can type commands as root. Also type mount in adb to find the partitions... Then post it back here so I can have a look. I will try to tell you exact commands to use if I can find the partitions. Thanks

you didn't wipe aboot, abootbak, hypbak? right? Our phone has a backup partition for each partition (abootbak, hypback, sbl1bak, modembak, etc), asus included these, so there must be some way to use them to unbrick. Are you able to reboot to fastboot mode? ( i guess not, but still to confirm)
You can unbrick with QFIL ONLY if you manage to find your device's RAM IMAGE (usually MPRxxxx.mbn) and BOOT IMAGE (usually xxxx_msimage.mbn). Other flash files are included in asus fota, only these two are not. @shakalaca might help to find these files or the entire service ROM. I have been searching for asus service but to no avail . I have flashed many lenevo and xiomi phones with QFIL. Here's is a very nice guide http://www.androidbrick.com/unbrick...-you-have-the-right-kind-of-rom-qhsusb_dload/
You can request for ZF2 laser's service ROM on that website/blog. GSM FORUM is also a good forum to request service ROMs

I never cross flashed ram image. Be patient. Don't flash other device's ram image, it may worsen conditions. Keep this as the final solution, but NOT NOW. Also, you need boot image (.mbn) too.

[Help plz] Mobile radio / WIFI / diag mode broken after modifying NV Item QPST/QXDM

Hey guys,
Here is a story of stupid myself and now i need help with my phone Please enjoy and help if you can. Thanks.
I was trying to unlock LTE bands on EEA mi 9t (BAD DECISION, DON'T DO IT!) following any of those tutorials online, and i broke:
1, mobile network
2, wifi
3, diag mode/port
What i did:
- I have root with Magisk, used "adb shell / su / setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb" to enable diag port.
- Connected QPST and QXDM
- In QXDM's NV browers, i put "17592185995263" in both lines in NV item 06828 LTE_BC_CONFIG without backing up the original value (BAD DECISION, DON'T DO IT!)
- Rebooted the phone, and now mobile network and wifi disconnectes every 5 seconds.
What i have tried to fix this:
1, Reconnect QPST and QXDM, now QPST doesn't read phone's ESN number, and QXDM is saying that i can read/write to any NV items. Basically the diag mode is not communicating correctly anymore.
2, factory reset, no good.
3, recovery flashing, no good
4, fastboot flashing, no good
5, EDL/MiFlash tool flashing, (YES, with an authorized account), including persist partition (modified crclist.txt and etc), NO GOOD
I am here right now. I have done so much research on this topic and nobody has seem to run into this.
I am an embedded engineer and have a little bit android dev experience, and here is what i think based on what i have done and what i have read:
1, the NV items are stored in some location in flash memory, and they are loaded in the boot sequence when the phone boots up. But these NV items are not in persist, modem1 nor modem2 partitions as i have tried. And this block is not flashed by any flashing method, even EDL mode.
2, once the modified NV item (LTE_BC_CONFIG) has been loaded, it cause the firmware/hardware of qualcomm to not function correctly, thus the diag mode/port is not communicating properly to QPST/QXDM.
So I am (still) looking to fix this problem in 2 ways according to my theory above:
1, find the location that stores the NV items and try to revert the LTE_BC_CONFIG part back (but i don't know the original, yet possible to calculate it based on phones spec sheet).
2, find a way to reset the diag mode/port so that it talks to QPST/QXDM again.
Please help if you know anything about this.
Otherwise my phone is just a tablet that does not have internet lol
Thank you in advance!

This backup I found from a local forum is taken using QPST tool (2.7.477 I remember). It belongs to Xiaomi Mi 9T device. Only one IMEI is working though (the other one is nulled). Why your phone doesn't talk to tools anymore, can't get DIAG mode on?
https://gofile.io/?c=gxTHSm (IMEI of the backup is written in the name. You can search and change using HEX edit method).

I would have backup modemst1&2 and fsg then wipe those partitions. That might jump start.

They are where the NV items and modem config are located and their backup. Once you purge those partitions, android system will renew it from an inner source. If anything goes wrong, you can always restore those partitions from an image you took previously. I did it numerous times. My bootloader was unlocked and I had TWRP. Those are necessary.
