[Q] Compass not working in GPS Status

I got my N10 about a week ago. Updated to 4.3, unlocked & rooted, still running stock ROM. When I run GPS Status, it gets a GPS lock pretty quickly however the compass doesn't work. It just points forward with no orientation or pitch/roll. I installed another compass app that I've used before & that doesn't work either. Is this happening for anyone else? I'm concerned it could be a hardware issue, but I did notice that when I use Google Maps, the compass seems to work and the orientation is fairly accurate. Google Sky Map works as well.
I've restarted the device several times. I've uninstalled/reinstalled GPS Status. I've wiped cache/dalvik. I want to assume it's just a app bug, but I haven't seen anyone else reporting it. And the app was updated just last week.
Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestion on other ways to test my N10 to rule out that it's a hardware issue?

I have the same problem on my Nexus 10. Upgraded to 4.3, device not rooted just stock. Have you found an answer?

No I haven't. Even emailed the developer but never got a reply. However I discovered that if I go to Menu > Radar, the compass will release & rotate. Switch back to Status & it continues to work, at least until you close and restart the app. Hopefully if enough people report this, an update will fix it.

Thanks for your help. That works OK until you restart the app or reboot. At least I have a working fix and I'll put a comment on the developers web site. The app works fine on my Samsung S4 - maybe its a 4.3 related problem.

[Q] S5 crashes

Good morning android experts
I have recently bought my s5 model Sm-G900F)
The phone has an issue which it randomly crashes and auto restart it was happening alot but after I searched many forums what i did to the phone was trying hard format,installing latest firmwares (i did that alot) i even installed CM11 for the phone and it still did keep crashing randomly and auto restart but after the firmwares it was fewer it crashes about 10 times a day now which is something really bothering me especially when you buy a last model phone and it is still new and does that you get frustrated i know have installed back the latest firmware of samsung back because CM didnt stop the issue plus that on CM there is no use of the finger print scanner and i tried uninstalling and disabling the bloatware apps
And an another issue is that there are many applications which when they start the instantly crash the phone like trix (card game by mayslawrd) and hitman go (the game)
Please i need some help because i am really frasturated and i am starting losing hope that it is a software issue on the bright side i am waiting for the lolipop update maybe the device will stop crashing

Google Maps working slowly

Hi all,
Anyone noticed Google Maps app working slowly (laggy) with Note 4? I tried stock rom or custom rom/kernel, but I don't understand the reason.
It's not a big trouble because navigation works fine, but it's a little bit annoying. Does anyone found a solution?

Just checked and it works normally for me, no slow down at all.

Strange, what Rom and processor type do you have? I'm Snapdragon with POF2 stock. I just don't have any lag with it at all. It's totally smooth.

SimplRom v4F - N910F
Just only one time had NO issue, it was the first time I flashed SimplRom v3.2F and obviously I don't know why! but after some apps installation (in particular missing bloatware on the ROM) gmaps lags came back.
UPDATE: I've just take back my device after some hours charging with no connection and voila lags on gmaps disappeared! For verification I rebooted phone and lag re-appeared! totally NOSENSE.

I'd think that there's something removed in the ROM that maps needs or Is trying to use. As I said, on stock it's fine for me so that suggests there's something missing in the SimpleRom.

Unfortunately I already wrote also with stock and unrooted ROM gmaps ran slowly, but ok not a very big issue. Maybe one day I'll find the reason and a solution

I am using N910U exynos ver. and i observed that the google maps app laggy is causing by Note 4's 2k resolution, it seems be the GPU not powerful enough.
If you need smooth experience in google maps, you may try to enable the "Multi window" function, open 2 apps by up and down side in the screen (1. Google maps; 2. Chrome...etc.), then you can feel google maps run smoother than you run it by full screen.

GPS Concern

Hello guys,
What is your feedback on the Moto X GPS ? I have mine for about 7 month and it's total trash loosing the signal every 4/5 minute can't locate me, it just horrible, been the same with offical rom 5.1 and official 6.0.1.
And on every gps maps, google maps, waze, here map
How is your GPS working ? I'm wondering should I sent it back in warranty or completly change phone, please let me how your gps is working

I use Runtastic Pro on an almost-daily basis and haven't had any issues with the GPS at all. When I've needed it, Google Maps has been pretty flawless as well.

try GPS test. On a cloudy weather my MXP seems to have trouble with the GPS. And this started to happen when I've removed few motorola apks from the system

I'm having GPS gliteches as well, it started with the 6.0 or 6.0.1 Update...

My XT1563 seems to have GPS issue as well. If I don't use GPS for a few days then the GPS is very spotty, can only get 5-6 fixes at most, and the signal would be lost every minute or so. But after using the GPS for about 20-30 minutes then it becomes very stable. I'm not sure what's going on.

GPS Problems

Hi there my GPS was very quick under Kitkat with immediate fix and perfect compass. Under Stock Lollipop it still worked well enough. Since I use [5.0.2][D802] Google Edition 1.5 my compass doesn't work anymore and GPS doesn't fix at all or takes 10 minutes shows wrong location and looses signal again
I don't know whether the problem is the ROM or that my phone fell down hundreds of times.
Anyway I already tried the apps fasterGPS, gpsStatus and TopNTP without success and did the cardboard mod hardware wise.
Please help I want to play Pokemon Go
