Just got the update 30 minutes or so ago, but it keeps causing my phone to restart at random. I figure I'll factory reset it, but has anyone been having the same issue?

Done. Also reset settings, network settings, access. settings. No luck yet. Still random reboots every couple minutes. S10+ is the worst Samsung phone ever at launch. S9 wasn't perfect at launch, with some battery issues; but S10 is both unstable and has battery issues.
H/W is great, but no doubt this phone wasn't ready for launch.
early adopters get ****ed the hardest, that's not news.
hell knowing my luck motorola will make the razr v4 foldable a flagship model too, now that for once i finally came over to the darkside to find out just how bad samsung is, just to spite me, i was so dead set on it when i found out clamshells were finally coming back, i had the original a1200 and loved the hell out of it back in the day, had it rooted, custom firmware, was impossible to dial 911 or view ads on it, that's the way android should be still, but i digress, i only ever buy flagship phones, i wanna be able to coast for the next 5 years on my overpayment for electronic devices, plus stop making phones thinner, they're uncomfortable to hold at this point already in landscape.
of course if that does happen i'm totally coming up with the money and who knows, either i'll have two lines or i'll sell one and not tell the carrier, god the concept renders were sexy too, plus i won't lie, i love the snap sound when you hang up on someone when using a clamshell, so long as the razr v4 is flagship specs and can be opened one handed we're golden.

Well that's strange, never had any issues with reboots or battery issues after the update on mine. Tried to flash back your stock firmware and start fresh again? That should really fix it.
I've taken the phone off the charger and it seems to have stopped randomly rebooting for now. Strange. I'll still facreset it when I'm more free.

I've had Note 5, S7, S8 and Note 9 at launch. All were way more stable than the S10+.
I flashed it via Odin, before it was released on OTA and have not experienced anything like that. I did have a reboot but programmed every 3 days for optimisation.
The only thing I noticed was the IG mode on the camera is gone now? Mines been running great so far otherwise.

I've had my Note for under a month now. I've been ever so careful with it. My heart skipped a beat when one day, all of a sudden, the screen just went mad!
I scoured the Web but couldn't find any other instance of this but the other day, in another thread, a few people have said that they've experienced the same problems. It's happened to my friends phone as well. I thought both of us were sold defective pieces to be honest but it looks like a global issue.
This is not just a case of screen flicker and screen changing colours on a white background. It goes haywire! Almost like the old television sets with their rainbow effect.
This has happened pre and post ICS; so it's definitely not a software issue. It has to be a hardware defect.
When I tried taking a screen shot of it, it just took a screen shot of the app I was using before the madness began.
It happened again last night. This time, fortunately or unfortunately, the screen stayed that way till I hit the power button. I had enough time to take a photo of it using a friends phone. Check it out :

+1 I don't use live wallpapers either. Phone's not rooted either. It's probably an issue with the graphics chip. And it seems to be a global issue and not limited to any region as such.

I sure hope you're right because the same thing happened to my laptop once. The screen started flickering this way occasionally and it the frequency increased. In the end, I was told that the chip and the screen needed to be changed. Luckily it was still under warranty at that point.
Just hoping the same thing doesn't happen to this AFTER the warranty lapses!
never experienced this.. i used ICS for 2 days, no sign of this issue back then.. and now im back to GB...
is this what they call pixel salad?
flicker or pixel salad, whataever you name, mostly happens when you end the call or call disconnection...the same happened to me and gone through the logcat and reproduced the same once again..

So is this then a hardware issue? Something to do with the graphics chip? Can't be a software bug right?

I am currently running Rocket V7:crying:
funny i have never experienced this before... i've had my note for almost 3 months now
have upgraded to official ICS then root then went back to GB root..
just wondering for those of you who experienced this sort of pixelation, where did you get your note from?? mine was from the the telco when i renewed my contract and seems to me that it is more likely a defective unit..

Honestly, I thought my friend and I were sold defective pieces here but as I mentioned earlier, from the kind of response this thread is getting, it's definitely a global issue.
My unit was manufactured in Vietnam. Bought it at a store here in India. It's probably a case of a batch of defective units. Samsung needs to take stock of this. With their over zealous selling spree, it wouldn't surprise me if someone at the quality testing team was made to look the other way. Conspiracy theory maybe but who knows eh?

Have you tried goin without any apps for a day or 2, just to see if its a naughty app not getting along with the V20/7.0. Try a factory reset and run barebones (dont reinstall any apps)
I found an app that breaks read receipts & notification sounds twice (1x stock,1x rooted). Factory reset was the only way to fix it.

This was happening to me the with my first V20. I was also experiencing SiM card signal drop (as if the simcard tray was damage). Sometimes when i called someone the call would drop and the signal icon will show an empty icon with an "X". . Tmobile didnt want to believe me until i showed them that it was happening. i have a LG-V20 and my phone sometimes randomly reboots when i lock my screen its irritating. any fixes?
LG G4 , LG V10, LG V20 and even G6 have same problem is a very poor build the motherboards go bad as they heat . best solution stay away of LG for a while.
Had a G4 replaced 3 times bad board, LG v10, random reboots , and my wife got the v20 with random reboots, within 10 days of purchase. replaced with a s8 not a reboot
btw LG will replace the motherboard free of charge if still in warranty, but forget about your phone for up to 14 days
this idiots they replaced my motherboard got the phone and got fried within a week, cheap builds at a premium price,
I'm having some concerns. I got the essential phone a few days ago. The first one had a 6 hour screen time, but over 2 days it would not activate on Sprint so Sprint and I agreed to exchange it. The replacement got hot and now I got the 3rd one. This one is really odd now. When it boots up it doesn't automatically download anything. I have to physically unlock it so it can get my emails and all. Then yesterday it had the shortest battery life and demanded downloading apps over WiFi. I let it download all night and it still didn't download everything... and I found the battery really used up badly without even touching the phone. It also won't download software updates claiming it's the latest. Security update is September 5th.
Also... Anyone else notice it states encrypted without actually activating encryption?

I've not had any battery issues, but I just got the phone again yesterday, had to return one because it had a bad microphone. I have noticed, however, that I tend to get notifications when I pick up the phone. Now, like I said, I just got it yesterday, so my experience pool is shallow, but I can't think of a time that notifications were waiting for me when I picked it up rather than showing up when I picked it up - like the movement is kicking something into functioning again.
As for encryption, I think all Android devices are encrypted out of the box now, and have been since Marshmallow? They tried with Lollipop, if I recall, but performance was hurt too much. I think it's a requirement to ship a device with Google's app infrastructure now.
Can anyone confirm that it shows encrypted on thiers too?

I suspect that it's like Nexel and Pixel phones. If so, have to wait for SuperSU and/or factory images, so one can extract the kernel and modify it.

As stated already, all Android devices are encrypted out of the box since marshmallow. So every device running marshmallow and up will say encrypted because it is encrypted be default. There is no way to disable it without a modified boot image.

So I think I found a way to actually feel some slow down on my phone. Have an uptime of 4 weeks straight, no restarts, no drained battery. [emoji23] After a quick 20 second restart, it's back to normal. I think I usually get the monthly updates around that length of time anyway. So it's hard to go past 30ish days unless you skip one for a while.

So I think I found a way to actually feel some slow down on my phone. Have an uptime of 4 weeks straight, no restarts, no drained battery. [emoji23] After a quick 20 second restart, it's back to normal. I think I usually get the monthly updates around that length of time anyway. So it's hard to got past 30ish days unless you skip one for a while.

Heh I never make it passed the latest Flash Kernel update.
I restart at least once, if not twice a day
Mostly because of changing substratum themes and a little bit because of OCD lol
I've gotten like 2 or 3 months before on 6p running pure Nexus... I think.
Once every few days because of Adaway or Kernel Updates. With my 6p before you had to restart once every 60 Seconds because this piece of junk was unusable otherwise performance wise.

After every monthly update, otherwise my phone is on 24/7. I think I've only run out of battery life once since getting it that caused a reboot.

Is there a way to check it on Android P? I can't find the option ?
Yeah it appears to be they removed it from the settings. I'm sure there's probably an app but I'm not going to install one just for that. LOL.

Pixel 2 XL, Android Oreo, uptime: 5800+ hours.
System works ok, only camera begin to show some problems (some pictures are blank - not saved - or there is some memory leak / instable or my internal storage is corrupted). But overall, after all that hours i'm very impressed with how well system works.

Eh, i would like to see when system will go down, because of memory leakes or similar. It's really stable, only camera is now pure gamble - i never know if picture will be ok or not (see attachment). I will try to achieve 6K hours (another week and a half), then i will reboot & update the system Only because of camera is now really unreliable, other is fine.

Maybe they'll magically appear on Pie. [emoji23]

No, they are lost, because camera app has a problem. Im gonna unistall/install so maybe this will fix it
Edit: doesn't help. But turning HDR+ off helps. Seems postprocessing not working as it should. Ehhh.
I give up, i need a working camera.

Yeah I'm liking beta 4 and all the new looks and features especially the gesture navigation. It'll get even more improved with beta 5.

I don't use Magisk so don't know how it's been. Dark Mode is very nice.
