Need help with my carrier not showing up... - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Sorry if this topic already has a thread in advance.
So ive rooted my Galaxy s7 Edge and flashed a custom ROM (Blackdiamond NFE V2.0), Its now booted up correctly without any errors but one. My carrier setting wont show up and its telling me too insert a sim card. My sim card is already in and ive tried taking it out and trying another sim card and still does the same. Everything was working before this.
Could it do something with the CSC?
Also in advance im not very technical but have rooted and installed many roms in my lifetime
Any help would seriously be appreciated

I was in your shoes bro. Searched and searched but couldn't find a proper rom to flash but then I got lucky . **** sammobile. The download was super slow even with a fast wifi network and with IDM. Glad to help. I only came here to share the links with people that lost hope.
Btw I've also rooted it and flashed my region carrier CSC file to get voLTE through custom rom. So if carrier doesn't work by default. Flash twrp and use "The Galaxy Project" custom rom to get it working. That rom provides you to install additional features without having to install the rom itself. There's a list of regions in it and choose your region CSC through its installer. Make sure you flash nothing except that.

I got centre clock mod and voLTE through custom rom i mentioned before.
Also removed bloatware completely

Try to reflash a stock rom. You will have to get it to one service center if stock rom don't recover your IMEI. Good luck :highfive:

SM-N915W8 Canadian NOTE EDGE

Hey just got my edge today, looks like there is very little going on as it was just released a few days ago despite it being out in the states for quite some time, the only difference I believe is the LTE in the Canadian version.
Anyways, coming from the note 2, 3 and 4 and the trtlecan version always being close to the trtletmo I decided to risk it and flash the tmo cf auto root and recovery despite there being no stock firmware laying around on sammmobile the others..
annnd I'm happy to report that I now have a TWRP recovery, rooted, SM-N915W8.
go ahead and follow the very detail steps in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
MAKE SURE TO READ THE PART ABOUT IT FAILING (to flash cwm) AND THAT BEING OK being flashing TWRP
and then the BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS inside recovery which will look like you have sleep lock if you don't fix them before letting the screen timeout
and have all 4 files on hand before you start!
Awesome, thanks for the info, I was debating it but just was being a chicken. I'm glad everything worked out. Did you make a nand? If so did you flash the nand just to make sure everything was OK? Are your root apps working without issues.? I don't mind taking the risk...just wanna be sure

Thank you for your insight @gundal
Awesome glad it worked out for you too, now we can experiment with which kernel and os will boot without fear of bricking
Yes, I tried reflashing the backup and all is good.

Haha, i was reading through and just found it funny.
Glad you guys are having luck with the Canadian model. I jumped the gun and imported one from Korea as soon as it was released and it's an awesome device!
Enjoy!
Were you guys able to flash a custom ROM? Which ROMS will work with the Canadian version? And which US Model number is 'equivalent' to the Canadian one?

Anyone try any T-Moble stuff? I didnt look myself but I ask because we all used the tmoble stuff for our old Canadian Note3s ... could be the same senerio. I think that Tmoble kernels should work..
There might be a version of Hyperdrive for tmoble..

What recovery are you using cause Im on twrp and I cant make a backup, cache partition cant be mounted either, are you having this prob too?....
Dont worry about it, someone else who had this problem fixed it by formatting cache - did that and everything went fine.

Tried flashing Hyperdrive Edge for T-Mo with both twrp (2.8.1.1) and cwm (6.0.5.1 Xiaolu) referenced in the root guide by OP. They flashed without error but I got bootlooped both times. Luckily backup/restore works for both recoveries.
Does anyone know of a way to get back to stock recovery after flashing cwm or twrp? Any known location of a stock image?

Go to sammobile web site...download the original firmware for your model and flash it. When u flash original firmware everything will be back to stock including recovery..and you will be able to receive ota update. To flash stock firmware...just use odin. Search this forum for instruction on how to flash using odin.

Yeah I know about sammobile, flashing via Odin etc. There's no stock firmware uploaded for the Canadian variants yet so I was wondering of an alternate method to flash the stock recovery. I tried extracting the recovery from the stock image via ADB shell, converting to tar.md5, then flashing with Odin but it failed....likely because I'm rooted. Guess I'll have to wait until the firmware gets uploaded. Thanks anyway.
Try contacting the sammobile team...and their forum..they maybe able to help..

Not yet. I check daily. I'm hoping someone will be able to capture it via Kies when Lollipop rolls out. It's only matter of time before sammobile gets it.

FIX Refreshing SIM Data

OK, all started about a month ago when i decided to buy my current Note 4 N910C. I had a Note 2 N7100 on Cricket Wireless and everything was working just fine, when i got my Note 4 it came with Uzbekistan Android 4.4.4 N910COXE1ANK5, after setting up my new phone i went ahead and rooted it , everything was perfect while i was on Kitkat ANK5 rom. Then i flashed the latest 5.0.1 Lollipop rom which is B0C5, and on the bottom of the screen a REFRESHING SIM DATA popup stated to appear, every 10 minutes, or anywhere where the phone had poor or no signal.
After almost a month searching and asking i never got a solid answer but i really appreciate all kind of people who tried to help me, it was really frustrating reading all over the internet about this annoying REFRESHING SIM DATA message. After trying to flash latest firmwares thru Odin, changing APNs, setting network mode manually, after buying a new SIM, nothing really helped , i thought i had a faulty device. Finally i asked alot of times if can even flash a KitKat Modem into Lollipop Rom, but like before never got a solid answer, that it will brick my device, that it cant be done, so i didnt want to try cuz i have no warranty on this expensive phone.
After asking again to my friend and awesome developer @not-i i got a solid answer that i can really flash KitKat modem in my Lollipop rom, here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-nj4-4-4-4-t2923953/post56398444#post56398444
The FIX
So finally i flashed the old Kitkat ANK5 Modem into my Lollipop B0C5 5.0.1 rom, and TA DAAAAAA no more annoying REFRESHING SIM DATA, my speeds went up, i got a much better signal now, i can use LTE,
CONCLUSION
There are still thousands of people of a 100s forum asking and looking for a way to fix this annoying message and i really hope this thread can help them. Cheers:fingers-crossed:

Can't see more SD after flashing on Verizon-CID11, hardware fault or ROM problem?

Hi all,
When I bought the phone the SD was working and under about I was reading this:
G900FXXU1BOC7
Kernel: 3.4.0-4782027 [email protected] #1
build: DONGCHAO.A816
Hardw version: 1.06
security softw: MDF 1.1 r4, VPN 1.4 r4.1
After I realized it is a Verizon with CID 11, but I had already changed the ROM to PB1, and since that time I couldn't see more SD under lollipop and Safestrap.
Now I have a G900VVRU2DPD1, unrooted, obtained after flashing by Safestrap.
My question is oriented to experts, is possibile that flashing to PB1 (that I suppose is written for CID 15) didn't allow me to see more SD? Does it ever happened to you? There can be a part of wrong bootloder that give access to SD still running on my phone?
How can I fix that?
I've few days before guarantee ends and I need to know. Thank you!
I formatted it FAT32 and I always see this SD working on PC and other phone.
Anyone can help me? I really need urgently this info, if it's because of ROM I'm not going to bring to assistence. Thank you

Is your device a verizon branded phone?
According to your OP you have a G900F.
The verizon phone is the G900V
Have you tried to Odin the stock firmware?
yes, flash mode shows I've a 900V, I don't know how before it was G900FXXU1BOC7..
Anyone had SD problems with 900V?

Never have but could just be a bad SD card or the software isn't allowing it to read for some reason.
Odin the stock pb1 firmware found at sammobile and see if it still does the same thing.

thank you for answer.
As I see the SD works perfectly in other readers, should work even on phone. The exactly same sim card, and not formatted, was working before updating ROM.
Do you have a 900V with CID 11? That's may the question IMHO
PS: reflashing all/replace root for checking that is not easy.. but if nobody will reply me I have to.

Flash the stock pb1 Odin package to be definite that it is a software issue and not hardware.
It's not hard to do.
If you don't want to do that then good luck figuring it out.

I flashed PB1 several times and SD never worked. The phone came with G900FXXU1BOC7 and SD was working.
So u have the same phone I have and with PB1 worked for u, that's very strange it doesn't in my phone.

Have you flashed the g900f OC7 firmware?
It sounds like you have an international variant rather than the Verizon variant.
What does it say on the sticker underneath the battery?
I fixed it, it was electrical problem. Not that easy to correct the position of golden contacts of SD slot, but it recognized it.

SM-G935U Question ....

.
I have been looking around and reading a lot about this model phone G935U. I am wanting to run a custom ROM on it,
but I would need a custom recovery in order to flash the ROM correct ??
I do not think there is a custom recovery ( TWRP ) at all for this model G935U because our bootloader is locked.
So with no recovery we have NO CUSTOM ROM's right ??
Or is there a way to flash a ROM via Odin and not have TWRP ? I can not believe I got this expensive phone and I can not flash ANYTHING.
Thank you for any ideas or tips. BTW I am rooted and running ......API3 boot-loader.
.
I can't believe it either. You'd think you'd read up first.
