I am on linage os 16, upgraded the os today but each time i upgrade i have a habit of cleaning up internal storage that's why i wiped internal storage from twrp but each time this caused me serious problems like settings fc, ring tones don't play etc. If i don't wipe internal all seems to be fine can someone let me know what am i missing here? formatting data doesn't help.

I've recently noticed that my phone internal memory getting low (20MB) even though I had partition-ed my memory card to get Apps2SD.
I have a 8-GB card and the setting is (~512 MB EXT3, ~30MB linux-swap) and the rest is FAT32.
have a look at the attachments to analize the the problem.
Did I do something wrong? or this is normal !
regards,
nayyak
It's normal. Data caches fill over time and take up that internal memory. You can regain much of it back by opening up your app manager and clearing the caches of any app that allows, especially things like browsers, gmail, market, etc.
That'll free a bunch up. I highly recommend an app called CacheMate - it does all that with the push of a single button. You can also boot to recovery and clear your Dalvik cache.
Also, if you're rooted and install a bunch or different ROMs without wiping, this will happen.
Thanx for the response
but I've already tried wiping the cache folder and it didn't help coz it gets filled up immediately.
My Defy is once again throwing "Low on space, phone storage is getting low" error messages. When I view the list of all applications and their storage usage, the bottom of the screen displays 1.26GB used, 5.1MB free. However, if I scroll down the list and add up all of the storage being reported by the system for each app, the total is only about 191MB (I don't have a lot of apps). So, is there some type of internal storage memory leak somewhere?
I've been happily running a nightly CM7.2 build from April, and I haven't installed a new app in months. The last time this error happened, I eventually had to do a factory restore and reinstall everything to fix the internal storage limit. And after restoring all my apps and settings, the total internal storage used by the new build was less than 200MB.
Anyway, I'm throwing this out there for suggestions prior to rebuilding everything, again. I already tried wiping caches and updating to the lastest 7.2 nightly, but I'm still getting the error.
I ended up doing a factory reset and reinstallling apps from backup, but would still welcome suggestions for the next time this happens. I wasn't able to try SDMaid, because even after freeing up 130MB of internal storage, the installation would fail with an insufficient storage error . However, I did install SDMaid on the new build, so now I'm ready.
Dears,
I just bought my S5, suddently unpgraded to Lollipop.
Briefly, I can install 50% of the apps I had before, it's going out of storage.
I did a full wipe after upgrade, so there's no wasted space in the storage.
I couldn't find a partitions scheme, some I'm here to ask if this numbers are normal:
There's a lot of data in the cache, I need to frequently wipe it.
But overall, tapping used space I see in detail 7.5GB of applications, while going to application manager and summing all applications' size I arrive to 3.4GB only: it seems there's 4GB lost somewhere:
Anybody noticed the same?
Where can I check partition sizes for the S5?
Thanks everybody and best regards.
Factory reset after upgrading to Lollipop, KK leaves rubbish files behind and cause more problems than just lack of storage
Also remember now with LP, it uses ART instead of DALVIK, which means app sizes will be bigger
Well, I've been doing it, same problem after several days.
Also, I actually have 350MB of cache, 800MB free, but of I don't clear the cache I can install nothing, Play returns not enough free space...
Possible it partitioned 4GB for "private mode" I forgot to disable it when I rooted and now everything is showing I only have 12GB and trying to find out how to recover that partition and add it back to the internal storage partition currently. Try turning "private mode" on and see if your storage page shows a chunk of space used for that
Hi, I have a problem. I own an LG G2 (D805).
When I open the Camera App my phone prompt the message that I have not enough space on internal storage. The problem is that the phone shows me that it has 6.49GB available.
I'm running CloudyG2 3.3 (5.0.2 Android Version).
Kernel version 3.4.0, Build LRX22G.
I think there is someone wrong with the info that the phone shows in the app of Storage but i can't find where are this files that are consuming me space and don't let me take photographs.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thks,
Try wipe camera app from settings, if problem still remains try wipe cache & dalvik cache in recovery.
Solved
OK. Finally I solved my problem.
I did a wipe cache & dalvik cache in recovery several times but nothing happens. My camera prompt the same every time.
I did a wipe of internal storage and voila! My camera started to work again.
I think that something inside my /sdcard (internal was wrong).
Hey I'm currently on a pie rom and I want to switch to another pie rom, I've formatted my sdcard as internal storage, so if I install the ROM like normal- wiping data, system, dalvik, will I lose my adopted storage. Please help me. Thanks
