With battery optimisation in semi-airplane mode (I can recive only calls), during the night it drains 0,8% per hours. It could be improved.
I took mine off at 1030pm at 100% and woke up at 530am and it was at 100%
I felt as if mine drained on standby quite quickly, then improved vastly after the .124 software update.
Before the update it was as if the phone drained at the same speed regardless of whether the phone was on standby or if i was using it.
It doesn't drain at all. Because NOTHING is left running. Which is ridiculous. There are tasks that I want to keep running for various reasons, and they are killed almost instantly. It seems like the phone doesn't support multitasking.
I get great battery and near no drain with screen off, I have a few apps exempted from being killed, I'm averaging 26 hours battery life with about 8.5 hrs screen on time.

What exactly is that you are using? I am struggling really badly with battery life so would like to give it a try.

That image is completely non ledgible. In any case, Ive also noticed Gallery and Themes keep running in the background under battery usage details, however if you check running apps in developer menu, they are not listed. So who is telling the truth?
Hello all. Well I got mine P30 pro yesterday. Was charged 100%. I wake up to test it.. because I read here about battery lol. And it was at 99%. Then used it off and on today. Right now 5pm 91%. LOVE THIS PHONE!

There are days when I had experienced close to 40% baterry drain (I don't use wifi) . On an average 10 to 15% drainage happens. Will double check this.
I have stopped using all good to have sensors and software features so that battery drainage is reduced. Hoping future software updates makes battery usage efficient.
Have managed to get satisfactory performance from battery now but at the cost of disabling Bixby, always on display and many sensor driven features including face unlock
No battery drain at all get 9 hours screen time on!

I have observed Battery drain before as well as after Oreo update on Samsung A8+.
From 12 midnight to 6 AM, I have observed at least 7-8% drop in battery level. It also happens even if phone is in battery saver mode. At this time my phone is in Do Not Disturd mode and AOD is also disabled. Any solution for this issue?
My earlier handset Moto Z Play was dropping only 1% at night for same duration.
This what I got for about 7 hours

I did notice that the battery would drain more in standby than when i make a phone call. also if i disable all of Googles permissions the phone gets too hot. The battery will last less than one day while in standby. My oneplus one can still beat the x2a in terms of battery life. I hope AOSP or sailfish 3 will fix this.

we need root
UPDATE ROOT METHOD OBTAINED ?
Standby mode is decent for me but then I use Doze to turn off some apps when in standby.

Use Naptime. No root and AMAZING battery life.
And Use Better battery life to understand which apps drain it in background

I've heard really bad things about standby drain with this phone -- gsmarena's review indicates it's really horrible.
Can anyone with the phone elaborate on how it is?

I charge my phone during the night and remove it from the charger when I wake up during the night (usually at 3am). After that it's just laying around until about 10am(weekend) and if I pick it up it usually has 99 or 100%(wifi and Bluetooth enabled all the time). Of course there is more drain if you are on mobile data but you will have enough juice for one day for sure. I'm currently on 5,5h SOT with 22% left. Phone has not seen a charger for 13h and 34min, I had wifi for 10h and no time without signal
Well, after I disabled gallery sync, standby is really good. ~1%/hr which is for me perfectly fine

You are right, forgot to tell that, that mi sync stuff drained the battery a lot
(Test done with sync disabled)
During my sleep time (11PM-8AM - airplane mode active) it lose around 1% every two hours.
Else it lose around 1% every hour.
I'm currently at 86% of battery after doing 45~60 minutes of internet (estimated at 3% of battery use) and 15 hours and a half since last charge

Not the best, I loose around 8% a night. Have seen better
Even in airplane mode I lose around 8-9% a night it is basically 1% every hour on airplane. Do you think this is acceptable? Oneplus 6t loses 2% at night
Wow that's a lot, I don't lose that much overnight, for me it's about 4-5% with WiFi on all the time!

The only app that I have restricted is the T-Mobile app and the rest is as per default.
I restricted most of the apps it worked and I lost 1 percent last night
When I closed all apps and sleep at night, the battery could drain less than 3% even after the Android 10 update...

That's because Android 10 is better at it lol

Very good, comparable to clean Android. Unfortunately it kills background apps that you want to run, lik Google photos wi fi back ups.
I get about 0.6 percent per hour overnight with wi fi and location on.
Everyone should come to appreciate this amazing phone. I had OnePlus. Sony, Samsung etc., all rooted, with trick ROM's, with trick kernels, and everything which the XDA community so generously makes available to users. No phone has ever come close to my P30 for battery, efficiency, smoothness, camera which about sums up what a mobile phone does.
With a light "debloating" (using only ADB), careful use of "Blokada" and "Naptime", without losing or disabling ANY function of the phone except "Health" and "Home" which I do not need, I have 0% drain overnight. If WiFi is on, which I do not need while I am asleep anyway, drain climbs to 2 maybe 3% maximum (the culprit is "sync" I think). This is for 8 to 10 hours (I am old, I need my sleep!), not per hour.
Edit 21 November 2020: Last night I unplugged my phone at 96% and took it to the bedroom. Put it on the stand and went to sleep. I picked it up this morning, a little before noon. No "aeroplane" mode, no wifi or data; but the phone was on -- if anyone rang or messaged me, which is what I need. You can see the screenshots at the end of this message.
P.S. As I noted elsewhere, the app which seems to consume most battery is "com.huawei.hwid", which is Huawei's identity check etc. I found that everything works as well without this app and I have uninstalled it. For more details check the "Bloatware" thread.
P.P.S. I think Huawei has hit on the head with this one. Well done, Huawei! (No, I m not working for Huawei, nor do I want to work for said company; but the truth has to be told.)
