This is the first time I have asked a question here, but I have not come up with what is happening or if it has a solution.
Many languages have disappeared from the list of languages on Android, and not only that, but also the FM Radio app, the Quick Memo app, and surely there is something else that I have not noticed.
- What I have done that led to this problem:
I made a dd to the system partition from twrp (error, i know.. but it's late) (I remember that until then nothing happened and started well) but when wanting to re-enter the recovery the twrp had been replaced by the recovery stock (something different from the original in bytes) which led to a reset and the loss of the language + the loss of the apps that I have said above. At the moment I am in English, but my native language is Spanish.
- What have I tried to do?
I searched for information but I did not find anything. I have flashed from LG Up again System stock and Recovery Stock and I have not recovered anything.
Now after a long time I made a backup and did a reset again but with the correct recovery stock but I have not recovered anything either.
I do not know where the languages are located and / or why at least I do not recover the FM Radio and / or Quick Memo application ?.
What happened?
Thanks in Advance. And sorry for this Issue and my english.

Hi ..
I had updated defy to the latest cnmod nighty version. ( 110410 ). Eveerything was working fine. i played with the phone for the entire day. video acceleration was awesome and played gt racing.
Suddenly there was problem with wifi connection. I decided to restart the phone. Choose the reboot menu . and now the phone is stuck with the moto logo on startup. Nothing happens after that.
When the bluelight blinks after the android menu , when I press the down button , I get android bootmenu v1.0.5 (By cynongen defy team and galaxy) ,
i was not able to do anything from here. It has these menus :
1)Boot : boot is set to 2nd init
2)cpu settings
3)recovery : in the recovery menu , If i choose latest recovery or stable recovery , I get error in /system/bootmenu/script/recovery.sh (Result: no such file or directory) , and when I choose stock recovery , the phone restarts and is stuck with an exclamation mark )
4)tools: I could understand what to do here.
When nothing did work , I pressed both up and down button after changing boot to normal. there i cleared some cache or something , cleared everything that I could.
After all this my phone is in the same place. A moto logo on startup.
Please can someone help me . This is my first android phone and also the first costly phone I bought and I did something nasty on the first day itself.
i am a normal end user who knows nothing more than gui.
thanks in anticipation
hey
flash a stock 2.2.2 with RDS from bootloader
you gonna need latest defy drivers for windows plus a stable froyo i guess
google this "how to unblick a bricked defy"
let us know what you do and what changes
are you sure this is a case of bricked defy. I had read in many places it is very difficult to brick defy.
its not bricked
but that is what you need to search for to get the solution
i did so too
What "Natsikap" said.
Clear Data/Cache.
Flash Official Froyo 2.2.2 using RSDLite, Use your region correct Froyo (If you are from India use SEA15 Stock ROM -Get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Defy). Everything will be Stock normal. Read everything in the wiki before you flash anything, esp read the "How to get back to Normal in case things go awry" part you will save yourself the High BP!
thanks all for your support.
i have installed the orginal manufactuer android froyo
and flashed it later with cynogenmod 7.1 for defy. The latest stable one that was released yesterday
One more question:
Should I unroot this cynogenmod .. so that I don't mess something.
congratulations
you sorta came from behind and am sorta left behind
question: does the 7.1 have any wifi issues? working properly?
tell me so i can make the jump too
thanks bro
sorry for the late reply..
no it does not have any issues.. at least i could'nt find any.
wifi was working like a charm. used it for around 2 hours ..
Couple of questions..
1) i don't lke the menus flying into the screen. How can i change this animation to the normal fade animation that came with original os.
2)should i unroot my cynogenmod should that i don't cripple it while playing with settings or someother way.
Do not unroot CM7. Make site you make a backup in recovery, that way if you mess something up you can just restore it. As for animations, go to settings> cyanogen settings> display, you should be able to change the animations. If not try spare parts app.
Swyped from my MIUI Defy
i have defy plus.....i havnt rooted it ...its working on original 2.3.6
my phone is starting but power button not working.....when i put it on charing lock screen comes to life but touch not working..
sometimes it remains on moto logo
please help
Hi all. I flashed my stock 2.2 Milestone 2 to the MS2Ginger 3.0 about a month ago. Everything was working just fine. But after one to two weeks of use, some minor bugs started to trouble me. I am a Chinese user and I used Moto Smart HandWriting for Chinese input. Everytime i tap on a message box or anywhere else to input text, the screen goes blank. The machine is still responsive and I am still able to go back by pressing the back button. The only way i can input text now is to use other IMEs.
Another thing is that my physical keyboard started to get double bouncing which was initially alright after flashing the rom.
I figured that it is something related to the data/cache or something else because the phone was okay just after flashing the rom. So i booted into bootmenu and do the double wipe to clear all the setting on the phone. But when i rebooted into the system, everything was still there. Lock screen password, messages, account settings, etc. All of it was still there.
I then tried to flash the MS2Ginger again following walter's post in android development forum. Again, nothing was resetted.
I am very annoyed. Can anyone provide some advice? Thank you.
hi, i think this should fix your physical keyboard problem... worked for me

Come with HK 1.66 updated to HK1.1.124d then flash to EU.124, RU1.124-> RU1.134, Marsmalow too!
I tried reworked yotaflsaher and TWRP, ADB sideload, wipe, format system, without SIM, etc...
I use hungarian language... it's can't be the problem, right?
So... yeh: HELP, HELP!!
I realy want to use that funkction: want to go hiking...
Hello!
I think i found the good ROM. LOLLIPOP RU 1.124, with CN radio files. Don't update. I use hungarian too. / Szia /
I have a nexus 6p, its bootloader is unlocked and its rooted, my phone wouldn't record any audio while taking a video, either was stock camera, snapchat or instagram, none of them could record audio, but the case is, that i was able to do voice commands (Recording voice notes, "Ok, google", making calls and video calls), and since i was rooted i was searching for a solution to my problem.
So i saw a post in the google forums about some one with the same problem, which solution was changing in the command "cam recorder" that is in system/etc/mixer_paths.xml , the microphone that was used to record the audio while using the cam, which was ADC3, and changing it to ADC1, another microphone from the phone.
So i did it and rebooted my phone, expecting it to be solved, but no! It wasnt, actually, now i cannot make calls, nor voice notes, i cant even reproduce any sort of audio/video!
What should i do? I tried changing the command exactly how it was, leaving ADC3 instead ADC1, but it the new problem persists!
I was thinking of wiping the whole system and reinstalling android, but im just not sure what to do
I did a simple wipe of the phone, uninstalling every app, but the basics still remain, and actually that caused another problem, because after the wipe, my phone just doest recognize the sim card :crying:
What should i do?!?!??!
More notes:
While searching, I saw in a thread about how to reinstall android OS with all its drivers and stuff, and someone commented this:
1. Visit Android Forum for Mobile Phones, Tablets, Watches & Android App Development - XDA Forums
2. Search your phone's model.
3. Go in the ROM section and search for stock ROM in the threads and download it in your PC
4. Copy that zip file to your SD card.
5. Turn off your phone and boot into recovery mode by pressing volume up+volume down and power button OR any other combination for your device.
6. Once in recovery mode select install zip option and select the file copied in SD card.
7. After installation reboot and enjoy
I got "STOCK BASED ROM 8.1.0-OREO" from the forums, should it be okay??

See the section about how to return to stock.
Do you have any recovery installed if not then you should in case anything goes wrong.(How to do this is in the same guide)
And you should grab the latest official factory images from google and flash them as instructed in the guide.
First of all greetings to all and excuse my bad English, I am using a translator. My native language is Spanish.
I recently made a downgrade to my tablet (Android 6 -> 5), because with Android 6 I was very busy with ram, now with android 5 works perfectly.
To perform the downgrade I had to install TWRP 3.0 up there all right, the problem arises that now with Android 5, I try again to enter the recovery mode and I no longer have the TWRP 3.0 nor the original recovery mode. If I press the buttons (power and volume +) the tablet makes a hardreset directly. Everything is erased.
So I ask you, what happened because I lost both the previous recovery and the TWRP? Can someone explain it to me please?
- Another thing that causes me a lot of curiosity is that in the applications installed on the tablet I see these applications that I do not know their usefulness or function, can I eliminate them?
*FactoryRest (16Kb)
*One-Touch Test (96kb)
*Run-in Test v1.7.2 (13mb)
-The Tablet also now asks me to update some things of Android 5, that is to say an official update that weighs 21mb but I deactivate it because I have read that if you update directly from the tablet after having done a downgrade or roted (something that I have not done yet , I do not want to do) makes the Tablet useless. Is this true?
I really hope you can help me, I have asked this in many forums and nobody has been able to help me. Thank you all.
