Hi,
I know in the past there was an easy interface to allow you to choose per app whether or not to hide the navigation bar (home touch buttons).
Does anyone know if there is an easy way to always keep the navigation bar and status bar and to never have it go into immersive mode? With the taller screen, I'd like to give that a shot for a while.
There is a thread here about per app immersive mode: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/help/hiding-home-button-lg-g6-t3583536
I'm looking for a 'disable' immersive mode completely type of functionality.
Thanks for any assistance.

Hi there,
I'm on Oreo stock ROM S8 with Magisk root.
Is there a way to make the navbar always visible?
I want the navbar to never disappear in full screen apps and pictures and videos, as if it was not part of the screen. It should never be hidden behind a picture etc. I hate to have to swipe up to reach the navbar. Drives me crazy.
Immersive mode is the most annoying thing I can think of. Hitting buttons in apps near the top accidentally activates the status bar etc. Perhaps there is even a way to disable full screen for all apps?
I'm using HavocOS on Redmi Note 7
Most of the games can use fullscreen display.
But almost all apps have black/white/gray bar (depending on the app) where the notch is.
I tried using NotchKiller Magisk module.
When I enable it, then app is rendered where notch is, but then black bar appears on another side..
Here are the pictures

Does anyone knows how to make all apps use the whole screen edge to edge?
Immersive mode as implemented by Samsung on Note 20 Ultra is crippled, doesn't span the display area over the full display, only hides the status bar. The effective visibility area for apps is without the top bar around the camera cutout.
To enable full immersive mode:
— install Magisk module “None Display Cutout”;
— reboot:
— System Settings ⇨ Developer options ⇨ Simulate display with cutout ⇨ No display cutout - MlgmXyysd
Now the display area will use the full screen and be significantly bigger.
Or you can just use System Tuner UI from the play store and with a couple adb commands get the same thing. Enclosed are a couple of examples.
I've read many reports that System UI Tuner doesn't work like this — it only hides the status bar, but doesn't move the displayed area and stretch it over the full screen.
Instead it displays a black strip on top of the display around the camera cutout.
The way with the Magisk module works — I'm using it — it increases the displayed area significantly.

Its real really full screen as far as I can tell
The very top of my screen is the Twitter bar. The punch hole is centered on that but obviously the screen cap won't capture it so I drew it.

You could also use Monument Browser which has had the same feature for a while, has a desktop application for windows and has a lot of features that are difficult to find. However it's a nice step for the Samsung Browser
most of the browser will make a black broder where the punchole/notch ist, so this is nice
This is an irregular practice, yet it makes the telephone simpler to deal with, while keeping that Infinity show looking sharp.

This doesn't work with all apps. If the app has the capability the OS won't Force the status bar, otherwise the apps will continue to performance like they have before. Most apps don't support a full immersive mode because in previous versions of Android it was built into the OS and apps didn't have to support it.
Edit: I should rephrase that because I'm not taking into account the knotch area that didn't exist when immersive mode hit android. It seems immersive mode ignores that.

This is what i mean... The statusbar becomes a black border and the screeb behaves like before so no more screen area to use
Samsung browser beta just became my default browser again. Wish edge would implement this. I was pissed when they removed it so now I'm a happy camper that they've returned the feature.
