Snapdragon S10+ Accubattery estimates? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Any of you with Qualcomm/Snapdragon S10+, can you post your estimates from Accubattery app? I am getting estimated 9hours of screen on time estimate after a 100% charge. Battery drain while screen off is 1.8% which is pretty high imo specially with no apps installed, phone is default out of the box connected to WiFi so cell data use is minimal.

Just got an S5 on Friday, this seems like horrible battery life.

My GF also has the S5 and at the same time last night she was at 11 hours (1.5 hours screen) and had I think 67% battery left.
Granted my phone was unplugged a little longer and had more screen time, but this seems crazy! Also her brightness was almost double mine. Unfortuanltly I didn't get any screenshots of her phone last night. Here are mine:

Note how the wifi has been on for 14 hours? It has NEVER been on, I haven't even connected to my house yet, I turned it off as soon as I left Verizon.
You can form whatever opinion you like. But the general concenus and my personal experience is that the S5 battery life is excellent if not outstanding.
You would do well to ensure that your battery is fully charged and use a good third party battery monitor e.g, Gsam or a similar app. It only takes a few poorly behaved apps to put a large dent in any battery so you should look for wayward apps and try to avail yourself of battery saving features e.g. reduced screen brightness, timeouts, processor governors and so forth. And perhaps consider looking into inverted apps.

That looks pretty damn good.
I was just about to post a thread. Something is draining my battery life and causing Android System to be the highest battery usage. Check out below.

Auto brightness.
Not to jack your thread.
But I used my iphone at work to watch videos, ect while there is downtime. I usually watch while it's also on the charger
For the Note series, does anyone know if that "kills" my battery for long term?
I know you can replace battery, but just wondering for future use.
Thanks.
Issue with battery drain due to android system is real
All three people I know that just got the Note 4 were experiencing the same issue I had with excess battery drain with the always generic "android system" taking more battery than anything else including the screen.
I downloaded an app called "System Tuner" and looked the CPU% for Android system and it was a constant 3-4% when the phone was otherwise idle.
I found a post at http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/80459 where they were experiencing the same issue (lose around 12% battery an hour with android system taking a huge chunk of battery). The person from that post was able to address the issue by turning location off, rebooting, turning location on, and rebooting again. After I did this I saw Android system idle at ~0.6% - 1.1% instead. So far I'm getting much better battery life but I'll need to give it some time to know for sure.
Hope this helps!
mine took about 2 full days for everything to finish syncing, downloading, indexing, etc. I had books, news articles, pinned music from google play, etc.
Once that happened, everything is now "normalized" and I'm getting better battery life than I was with the note 3.

Short answer: Maybe, it depends on how you are doing it. Using it while it is charging is not necessarily bad but watching videos and keeping it plugged in while the cell voltage is pegged at 100% will likely deteriorate your battery faster.
Long answer + tips:
Lithium ion batteries are great - they are light, can be made very thin and have excellent energy density but they are also very finiky.
Things to avoid doing with a lithium ion battery
-Charging to 100%, leaving it plugged in overnight is a poor practice(high cell voltages reduce the service life*, stopping the charge at 90%[4.10v] can double the service life, stopping the charge at 80%[4.00v] can quadruple the service life.*)
- Discharging the battery to below ~20% (Li-Ion batteries are somewhat sensitive to deep discharges)
-Charging/exposing Li-Ion to elevated temps or below freezing.
*service life is defined by when a battery can only retain 70% of its rated capacity. Most consumer batteries used in mobile devices have a service life of 500 charge discharge cycles.
It is not uncommon for batteries to lose 30% capacity in 1.5 years or less. Changing your charging and handling habits can double or quadruple a batteries life span.

LOL your picture took up have my damn screen on my 1080p laptop with 15.7 in screen. It was crystal clear too.
On my 2nd charge, auto brightness. Pretty freakin' amazing battery life....
15.5 hours off the charger with 8+ screen on time!
I got awful battery life on the first charge cycle. It drained 50% overnight. 2nd charge has lasted amazingly long and I still have 64% after 12hrs of average use.
First charge. Battery life has been phenomenal. Brightness on auto.

Did u use any power saving features to achieve that time?

Definitely improve battery with recent update and I'm a power user
After the latest update
I dont know why but my phone goes from 100-90 in less than a hr with minimal use while the screen is set at auto, also in the leaving it unplugged in the night the battery also drains like 5 points.
I've been at full brightness and using the hell out of it non stop so far, and I'm at 35% with screen on time at 3hrs 40 min.
No update

Battery overnight

7% of battery overnight.
Wifi, 3G, google now and side clock on.
Is this normal?
Standby Cell=2% (5h on time)
Android OS =1% (13m cpu)
Standby Device = 1% (4m cpu, 28m active)
I too loose between 5-7% overnight (8 Hours). Although the battery life of Edge+ is pretty good while in use, I have noticed that standby of the device isn't as impressive as earlier Note variants (Yes, I'm comparing with Note series).
WiFi - ON
Auto Sync - ON
2-3 Apps with Notification ON
Samsung Pay on Screen Off - ON

Your CPU seems to be idle 95% of the time! I never checked mine but yes, mine drops that much too! I don't think that's a rare case with this phone!
Ok so it is good right?
Then why it drains so much overnight?
Depinding on my signal strenght ,i saw -10% overnight ,ok maybe i slept like 10 hrs insted of 7-8 but still . Battery info said that the juice went to Cell signal standby or something like that.

yep, same here... so maybe it depends on the strength and quality of cell signal..
will test in the next days...
I am sure it cannot be any samsung app/service as I have disable 200 of them with package disabler pro
also, location/3g/wifi/sync/googlenow always on is the same setup I had on OnePlus One, that was using barely .5% per hour
it also true that on the OnePlusOne I could also turn off the notification light during night, while with this I cannot so it could happen that the light keeps on flashing for 5 hours, draining battery
also, I have edge clock on at night, still some drining...
I thought the deep sleep or idle drain was caused by lollipop, no? I lose over 10% from a 7hr sleep, even if I turn the WiFi off. WiFi eats up a lot of my battery for some reason, and I know my connection was good too.

It's been 5 nights and I confirm it drains 1% per hour.
This is my usage really bad...
8% in 6h
Night clock on
Wi-Fi on
4G on
Sync on
I received 5 emails so notification light has been blinking for almost 5h
Don't understand, cos stats are not that bad...
Think yourself lucky. I'm losing 50% overnight.
Battery life impressive during the day though

I solved my problem: night watch...
With night watch on I lose 1% per hour at night, with night watch off I lose 2% in 6h
I was consistently losing 2%-3% per hour overnight. But once I found an overactive app (Plume) and changed from instant notifications to 30 minute polling, my battery life has drastically improved. I've also used Package Disabler to disable bloatware on my device.
The past couple days my battery has been around 97% - 98% when I wake up in the morning.

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Huawei P30 Pro before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I am getting 9-10hours SOT consistently on the P30 Pro, mine is the 256GB 8GB RAM version, and I have been thoroughly enjoying the camera and battery life.
8 but i have another 20% battery so i can make it 10.
I am definitively not getting that much.
Right now I have 29% battery left with 4,5 h of SOT and 1,5 hours of calls, couple of pictures taken yesterday. BT was on the whole time connected to my watch GT, Wifi on, 4G on.
I just updated yesterday afternoon to version 124. Maybe it improves over time.
What's the best way to drain less battery? Keep WiFi on or Mobile Data on or both at the same time?
With a normal use (from 5:45 to 17:45) with
auto brightness, 2 wearable connected, 4h of music via BT, GPS always on, 1h of voice call... I made 9h of SOT within 48 hours (with a single charge)
I have a problem. The battery menu can not be more than 6h SOT. I do not know where I'm wrong. can he help?
I have the same problem. I think since the update the battery drain is insanely fast.. No rogue apps, just fb, messenger, and mostly of them are put to manual mode.. What is going on, pls help. Also it can barely go through 24h without charging, mostly 5h on screen time max..
Coming from moto z play battery on p30 pro is a sad joke. 6-7h SOT charged on the morning, empty at the evening, with screen dimmed as much as i can, either by app that lowers auto brightness by 50%, or lowering it manualy. I have read reviews that stated great battery life, so either they were misleading or maybe i should turn it to the service. 124 software, but it wasn't any better before the update.

Sounds like a faulty device. You should be getting 8 hours and over for SOT
Good
11 hours SoT. Auto brightness. Pretty goood. :good:
But was auto brightness at the minimum value, possible only in darkness?
How the hell do you get 11h on screen time with one charge????
Either with screen dimmed so it's visible only in total darkness + wifi internet... or in fact some people have outstanding battery and other got horrible.
I always end my day with 50-60% left and 4-5hrs of sot. Auto brightness and mobile data.

The brightness was average 50%. It has to be mentioned that the battery is hugly affected which apps that are used. As you can see from my post i used reddit and youtube a lot when i got 11 hours SoT.
I have experienced 6-11 hours SoT. So 7 hours is not bad... It all depends on which apps that are used.
I have charged it this morning, now It has past 2h and 45 min since the charging, screen on time 52 min and 88% left. It says only 20h are left before the battery runs out.

Battery after 2.5 years of usage

So this phone has had a really good battery for me throughout its lifetime. I've even tried to maintain it between 20 and 80% charge most of the time. So I believe I've treated it quite well.
I'm using AccuBattery to track the behaviour of the battery. to notify me of the charge level when I should unplug it (I can automate this in my smart home). A good discharge rate for when the screen is off used to be around 0.5%/hour, but recently the phone has been wasting 1-2%/hour consistenly when not in use.
I've noticed no unusual wakelocks, no apps drawing an unusual amount of energy, I've tried restarting the phone of course, and I can't seem to find a software cause to it.
AccuBattery reports my current battery health at 84%. My conclusion so far is that the battery has aged a little and can no longer sustain its capacity as well as it used to when the screen is off. Also, the discharge rate with the screen on used to be around 10% an hour, and now it's closer to 15%.
Any thoughts and suggestions?
Replace it before it fails.
When a Li falls below 80% of its original capacity it has reached the end of its service life.
A degraded Li is more likely to fail which can seriously damage the phone.
Thank you for the answer, but I believe that's a bit drastic.
The battery has barely started to noticeably age. There are phones around me 3-4 years old where no one would think to replace the battery yet, since the behaviour is not erratic or the capacity hasn't gone considerably, or to an extent that decreases the phone's usability.
Another piece of data that I forgot to mention: AccuBattery shows "deep sleep" time as around 60% of time when the screen is off, while that used to be 80-90%. I think this behaviour started with MIUI 12 on this phone.
Still trying to figure this out. I suppose the higher battery consumption per hour when not in use is directly caused by the lower deep sleep time.

Cloud apps doing backup are prime offenders.
Trashware like FB, WhatsApp etc.
Try in safe mode overnight to narrow it down.
I've just deleted/disabled Lite Messenger and FB Services, I only need FB Lite. Set battery optimization for a few more suspicious apps to not allow them to run in background.
Whatsapp is a useful app for me, and it does its local backup every night at exactly 2 am. I'm fine with that.
But I've got that low deep sleep time both during the day and night.
Next thing I'll try safe mode. But will it allow me to run AccuBattery in order to track the battery draw? Or I'll have to keep track myself of the percentage before going to sleep and then in the morning.
Lol, Accubattery is a 3rd party app...
