Hey guys, i was wondering where i can download a legit version of the latest firmware for my S8 with Pie.
I know there is updato.com or samobile but the download is limited to 11ko/s and i don't want to pay for that..
I found other website with a fastest download but i don't trust them, is there any way in can check the hash or something? Or even better if you have a legit website
Thanks guys

hey guys, i bought my sgs a month back in singapore and the screen jus gets ppl drooling over it. My current firmware version is i9000dxjf4, and Kies mentions this as the latest firmware but samsung-firmware.webs.com shows that there are three other updates after i9000dxjf4 for the asian region. Is it safe for me to download and update the latest firmware from that website inspite of kies confirming that i'm having the latest firmware. Could u also check out that site its quite cool.
Thanks for your replies....
Kies won't show updated firmware as the Samsung Firmware releases are not official. You can by all means download and install, but they are unsupported and there are risks if you don't do it correctly! Most of us here have flashed new firmwares just fine though.
i was also wondering , i'm in asia so should i install asia specific firmware update or can i download european firmware update. I see that europeans get firmware updates frequently than the asians??

thanks man my problem got solved.....it was informative....
So, did you download the latest firmware from the Samsung site or went ahead to use one of the custom firmware? Would like to hear if some of the problems that we had been experiencing went away after your upgrade (e.g., GPS, lags, 3G/Wifi switch, etc).
I assume upgrading to the firmware from Samsung does not require rooting. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll try to stay unrooted for warranty reason.
Cheers.
o you have to be ****ting me, please use the search before falsely getting peoples hopes up......

Care to elaborate?
BTW, OP, I tried searching for the firmware on Samsung website but don't seems to be able to find it. Can you provide link for the mentioned firmware?
So I made the mistake of buying a galaxy s7 edge sm-g9350 in China and not in hongkong so did not get Google preinstalled.
I got the phone rooted in (in a local emarket) in the hope to install Google manually but I can't get the right google services version. It keeps saying "update Google play services". "Unfortunately Google play services has stopped working" "Google play services won't run until you update"
So I first installed an apk file for Google play, then installed numerous different versions of play services (because I have no idea how to find which one I actually need)
I note from helpful sites I need to look for letters and numbers from the existing services version to know which version I need....but I don't have a previous version. It never had Google.
So, please could someone advise me step by step...a novice to rooting and installing anything from any other place other than Google play... to get this working?
Device details:
Android : 6.0.1
Baseband : G9350ZCU2APK2
kernel : 3.18.20 [email protected] #1 sat Apr 2 13:06:36 CST 2016
Build no : MMB29M.G9350ZCU2APF7
SE status : permissive
Android security patch : 1 July 16
I would be most grateful for step by spell advice with links to where I can download the relevant apkfiles?
Many thanks.

Just flash an official rom of the G935U through Odin.
What is the link to?
Hi,
Thanks for the reply but I'm not sure what I'm looking at?
Is it a new ROM?
For which region?
Which version of Android?
Bear in mind I have a Chinese phone so all the core menus are still in Chinese (ie when you home/power and down - startup) it's all in chinese.
I have to take it to an emarket where some chap will flash it for me!
I'm actually just looking to add google framework/services.
Can you advise me which version of google framework/services to download?
What version is this?

Thanks for the reply,
What is G935U? is it the HongKong version?
I have G9350 phone.
Where can i get the official rom?
Check this website ' sammobile.com ' and then go tho firmware, write your model number and download the firmware you want, but don't forget to unlock the bootloader or you can brick the phone
The Samsung 935u is safe to flash it's universal so just flash it through Odin and your fine
What is this link for?
....opengapps.org....
I downloaded this, and thank you for the link. But could you tell me what it is? (I can't quote original link xda rules)
Is it just for google or is it a ROM to flash for the system?
I'm a novice and honestly I won't be doing the "flashing" i'll be going to an e-market to ask for help.
My Chinese is bad...and I need to understand what i'm asking for in order to ask for their help in getting google onto my phone.
Advice appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Updato ,Google this... To download Rom
Also , you can try this... without flashing, this is Google service installer..(non official )
http://www.coolapk.com/apk/com.goplaycn.googleinstall
Use chrome to translate.... Chinese app...
Alright I just remembered that the chinese variants are on a different bootloader than the American variants so I don't think you can install the u firmware bt if you wanna try here is the link for 6.0.1 u firmware ://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/firmware-verizon-s7-edge-t3344092
Worse case if you try to flash it Odin will say no and no harm is done to the phone so in my opinion it would be much safer to unlock your bootloader and flash TWRP then the opengapps that was mentioned earlier(opengapps is what will give you the Google apps you need for the play store and all that fun stuff)
Hi, wondering if someone has a copy of this rom that can upload or know a place where I can download.
The rom full name is PCT-G935FXXS1DQHS-20170915103031.zip, is the latest official Nougat stock rom for the S7 Edge for Claro Puerto Rico from August 2017. I have found a few places in Google to download, but all or them have restrictions (max download size 2Gb, rom is 2.5Gb), are slow (40kb/s, which eventually stop after a few hours) or can't download unless I pay.
If someone can upload it to Mega I can leave a mirror copy of it on my account so others can download as well for some time.
Many thanks
This is the link for the Sammobile rom:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/PCT/download/G935FXXS1DQHS/189046/
Don't have a premium account , tried to download several times but it always errors at some time and have to restart again.
Use Sam Firmware tool to get your rom.

Hi guys,
So I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have swapped out my s8 motherboard and the other died. Everything works fine apart from the fact it's on android 7 and every time I check for updates I get the message that the system is currently up to date.
The baseband is g950fxxu1aqc1
And the build number is nrd90m.g950fxxu1aqc1
I'm trying to find what version I can use to update to Android pie 9.
Any.help would be greatly appreciated

If you can't update though software update then you can update through Odin software( PC app ) or by using smart switch app ( PC app )
You can also get firmware through website like sammobile or updato - slow download though
Other choice's are through PC apps like Samfirm or Frija - quicker downloads.

Samsung being Samsung the bootloader/binary ( baseband ) number tends to increase. So if you want the latest firmware the number will be higher than what your is on your phone.ie :nougat to pie
Note: Increasing your baseband number you will not be able to downgrade your firmware version baseband number.

If you want to upgrade yes.
Another note if you are locked to a carrier flashing different firmware will not unlock you from that carrier.
Hello which is the firmware I should download to flash through Odin. ?
I don't want to download any other that'd why I am asking
The main issue I face is that the battery is draining even if I don't use it. There are not apps in the background running but I am sure it will fix the problem.
CTF1 is the firmware you need if it's available. Check Samsung website.
