xD. You cracked me up dude. But I won't return it. And if a better phones comes I can just sell it with the same price. I've done that with the Oneplus 2 and Oneplus 3t.

Overpriced and design is horrible. Bezels killed the phone. Got the op5. Performance on par. Do t care about camera. As far as looks and feels. Op5 hands down better. Pixel was $1000 plus for.me on launch. Op5 $500 and change and couldn't be happier.
I'm still on the fence whether to stick with Pixel XL or OP5. Camera is a big deal for me. I have kids and take lots of pictures.

OIS wont help you with with moving targets, but improved EIS from patch to patch might.
I'm satisfied. Love it
I'm in love with this phone. I have the 8Gb version and it's so damn snappy. I'm new to oxygen os, but love all the features available, even without root (although I'm rooted). My favorite thing about the phone is how easy it was to root and of course the awesome battery life. First phone ever that I've not had to charge every day.
Very nice
I'm quite satisfied. I keep trying to find the stuff that seems to drive a lot of you crazy but I can't replicate it with my own device. Came from a OnePlus 3 which I almost regretted handing down as I really came to like it.
If I can get the hang of this camera pro mode thing I think I'll be satisfied for the rest of the year.

Then by all means stick with the Pixel XL. I have the OP3T and love its camera for shooting everything EXCEPT moving objetcs. Seems like the OP5 is no different. Uses shutter speed of 1/17 for most moving subjetcs.
It's awesome

If you slap the same software on them (say LineageOS) as to eliminate any results manipulation due to software optimization, the OnePlus 5 should be faster and smoother due to the better specs.
All in all, I believe it's a great phone. But I don't have it yet, so I'm speaking just from research.
If you want the latest specs at a good price and great development support, the OnePlus 5 may be the best choice.
Don't care about OIS or EIS, nor about waterproofing (OnePlus did say it is somewhat water proof) since I'm not planning on bathing with the phone.
It all comes down what you're looking in a phone.
Coming from a Nexus 6, it's definitely an upgrade. Overall very satisfied.
The only things I'm disappointed about are the lack of wireless charging and the speaker placement. I've been spoiled by the N6's dual front speakers. Now I have to use headphones while playing rhythm games because otherwise my hand keeps blocking the speaker.

Hi I'm looking to change my pixel 2 xl cause of performance issues alot of lag and delay
I was thinking of Mate Pro 20 but I changed my mind after reading honest review on XDA-Developers
Is it better choice to get one plus 6t instead
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I got a 2xl and waiting for my 6t, which will be delivered tomorrow. Considered the pixel 3 but it's just a rerocked 2
I'm coming from a pixel 2xl. I was looking for something new because i started to feel apps were closing out too fast and reloading too often.
I started adding more apps. Mostly security camera and home automation apps. I wanted to see if having more RAM would help. I didn't even have any interest in the pixel 3 since they didn't upgrade the RAM
So far I've been pleased. Apps stay open longer but it seems it takes awhile for the phone to know which apps you use the most.
Battery life has been noticeably better but not by much
In screen fingerprint scanner isn't as fast as the pixel but the face unlock on the op6t is blazing.
I miss AOD and I'm surprised how often i use the squeeze for Google Assistant.
OnePlus gestures blows away both of Android navigation options. I'm happy to have the extra screen space.
Surprised how well the OnePlus screen compares to the pixel. There are more color options to adjust for your liking and the OnePlus seems to get a tad brighter. The pixel looks sharper on higher res content but barely and only if you stare.
OnePlus camera is okay. I'm not a huge picture person so the OnePlus is passable for me.
Pixel feels lighter and is easier to hold. Less fingerprints because of the material on the back of the pixel.
Right now I've factory reset the pixel to see if i can recover the performance. I bet it will be smooth again.
Hope this helps

I have Pixel 2 as well and will be getting OP 6T in couple of days... 6T seems to be a upgrade almost all cases except Camera.. well we have Gcam port for that
Coming from the pixel 2xl. The 3xls notch is disgusting compared with the price of the 3xl brining not a whole lot of new things make the 3xl a definite pass. It's unfortunate that this was the fastest phone I've ever had but in a year I've reset it 4 times due to extreme lagging and slowdown recently. Battery life dropped by almost half as well. The only redeeming quality is the camera but I am willing to give that up for the time being.

Yes. It's just a repost of the one from the 6 subforum.
Functionality is the same on the 6. Same things work, and same things don't work.
We can only use the 6.1 mods. Older 5.x versions won't connect to the camera on our phones.
So, i'm a noob to 1+ devices having got my 6T last November and it being my first 1+ device ever. Overall, I really like the device and it's definitely one of the best I've owned. I just don't feel it has lived up to all the hype. I have two lines and still use my Pixel 2XL and lately I'm finding myself liking my P2XL more than my 6T. Believe it or not I feel like my P2XL is faster and more fluid. Anyone else feel similar? I'm not trying to bash the 6T I'm just curious if anyone else feels like me.
Make sure you're on the latest firmware (9.0.11). The 6T OWNS the Pixel 3, let alone the 2, in just about every area except the camera, which gets better with every update. Give it a real chance, you wont be disappointed.
No regrets here. Absolutely love the 6T. My favorite device I've owned and I've owned plenty.
A little regret because I can benefit from its top specs at all. It doesn't support volte or vowifi in Canada.

I am kind of in similar situation.. I have Pixel 2 XL and bought OnePlus 6T.. Though 6T is faster, I feel my 2 XL is smoother and has better experience overall.. and man 6T kills my apps even after disabling all battery optimizations... I even miss voice calls and WhatsApp calls sometimes... Thinking of returning 6T
I had a P2XL previously and moved to a 6T in November. Unless things have improved lately, I found the 6T to be smoother for me. As stated by others, the only area I think the P2XL was better was in the camera, though I have been quite impressed by the pictures taken on the 6T for its price, especially with recent updates. I know we have the GCam port, but think it's still quite buggy. I would be very happy if somehow the HDR+ algorithm was integrated into the stock camera, though highly unlikely. No regrets here.
The obly regret is camera and camera app. The xamera app is so bad, no video recording options
Overrated imo, Price is too high now for what we get their is better value to be had elsewhere, Mi Mix 3 for example in UK it's the same price, Better Camera sensors/software, Better Display and wireless charging etc. OP3 was awesome for it's low price but OP6T doesn't live up to that, OnePlus hype is over for me probably my last OnePlus device.

Well said. The development for Xiaomi devices has been very good, I think that is what I will try next.
No regrets here either, have owned a lot of phones in the past and this one of the best if not the best. Miss wireless charging but the beast battery last forever.
Only had the 6T for a little over a month. Had the OnePlus one, but did not like it. Too many glitches.
They've improved a bunch. For the price, in my opinion, good bang for the buck!
I've owned a LOT of phones over the years. OP6T ranks right up there as far as I'm concerned.
Regrets? Most phones with this hardware are around 1000 euro. Almost every phone factory gets very greedy.
Well the fact that I got this phone for $280 bucks by trading in my s7 edge, I would say is the best deal for any phone I've ever had except for the HTC amaze which I got for free from staples 5 years ago. I would not have paid 580 as I have a brand new note 8 so it was just a back up. It's my 1st and I think it's nice, better then most at this price point.

Don't forget OnePlus is a budget phone with flagship SoC, Storage/RAM only rest of the phone is just cut corners to keep the cost low.
Do you tend to own phones for more than two years? If not, you'll see the overall value and abilities OnePlus devices tend to offer over other devices in the fragmentation department. My OnePlus 3 was still going very strong and I only updated because I was a sucker for the 6T. But truthfully, I never had an issue with my 3 slowing down or developing faults. I can't say the same for any LG, Samsung, or Motorola devices I've owned. OnePlus failure rates are some of the lowest in the industry, and it's evident as to why if you see videos of their manufacturing process on YouTube (Linus Tech Tips and Unbox Therapy I believe).
Sure, other devices may have explosive features that OnePlus may not always include. But at what cost? For the price, stability, support and power that you get with a OnePlus is unmatched. The 3 is STILL getting updates and works great. But if you're someone who updates regularly, I can see why maybe you'd feel like you're missing out.

You know, I thought the same thing but if you take the time to figure out the software its really not that bad at all. Coming from a Pixel 2 XL, I am content with these photos but it seriously took me some time to get used to the camera. Work on your focus, leave HDR on auto; you will be good.
No regrets here.

I just cant stand those oil painting finish photos. Its app problem because on gcam photos looks much better, more details and no oil paint effect.
And i cannot use the stock camera app for movies. There are no settings or options. No focus lenght, no white ballance, no controls for manual control.
Well, if anyone cares I can say that the 6t has been the most awful phone I have ever owned. I literally now own a $700 brick. And OnePlus the company should be ashamed of themselves. I am fighting to get this phone running. And customer support has gone 100% silent on me. My last call, I got the perpetu-hold by the agent and I hung up after about 30 minutes of waiting for her to "consult a coworker". It's been so bad that I am trying to social shame them. I have a youtube post titled "Why my OnePlus 6T sucks and OnePlus Support is awful". I would link it, but I'm too new on the forum.
It's why I'm now on this forum trying anything I can to get this phone working.

Well... Why did it stop working?
I have shifted from my iPhone 6s to Oneplus 6t. The main reason for the shift to Oneplus specifically in Andorid is the gestures it offers - switching apps, closing apps etc
After 1 month of usage, I believe Oneplus is the phone, if you want to get things done. Its fast, its battery is amazing. The reason why some people get annoyed is because its just too fast and for this reason it doesn't seem fluid. But trust me, using the iphone for years, I did enjoy the fluidic experience, however, I don't like it anymore and prefer speed, performance and battery life and Oneplus delivers on all these aspects. The teardrop notch and in screen fingerprint make the experience even better
Had really hoped hopes with htc u11 . 1st had a huge bug with Bluetooth/wifi that would boot loop my phone... Not only did htc blame me but I had to pay to replace it twice...2 the stance HTC and all big tech company have with development on their phones.
I'm moving back to OnePlus... I had the 1 and 3 going to wait till 7 comes out later this year... Anyone else leave HTC if so to what company what phone?
I do not have issues with WiFi nor Bluetooth. Both work pretty well for me.
I am not leaving htc. I have had the s8, v30 and op6. The result is that every time I switched back to the u11 I realized how smooth, simple and customizable is sense home and the great quality of the u11 (display, sound, construction, camera...). Oh, edge sense is a great feature that I can not live without.
Right now there is no other device that have all the specs I look for. Maybe the u12+.
Well experience with HTC phones had been good so far. Especially HTC U11 is a great device I am having no such issues.
For others I can tell about Samsung phones since I am personally using Note 8. Samsung has come a long way their software system it is lighter now and less buggier. Hardware always has been good on Samsung.
I'm leaving HTC this year for sure, after complete 2 years with me. No pie so far for u11, among others reasons like I've cracked my screen, paid to HTC themselves to fix, and after that there's no more warranty for the phone and they don't guarantee it stills water resistant.
The u11 is not bad, not at all. Suppresses all my needs, but with this support is complicated.

I've had my U11 since June 2017. It followed a ZTE Axon 7, which followed an HTC 10. I baby the U11 and have been very careful with handling it. I'll keep it until the day I accidentally break it. As others have said, the camera, sound and Edge Sense are what makes this phone so special. Plus, there's nothing as sexy as the Sapphire Blue! Pie or no Pie, it's not a deal breaker for me. Phones nowadays are expensive enough that they're not disposable, - better off holding on to what you have until it doesn't work anymore. HOWEVER, for the sake of answering the question, IF I was going to move on from HTC, I'd get a Galaxy S9 Plus.
Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
I had the HTC 10 before my U11 and thought it was better audio quality, for a start it has a HEADPHONE SOCKET......can you hear me HTC!
USB-C & no headphone socket is really BAD.
My next phone will be OnePlus, had a One and it was brilliant....just shame about no SD-CARD SOCKET....can you hear me OnePlus!
Just wish someone would make a phone that's half decent like these and have SD-Card socket AND headphone socket.
ps. OnePlus are really EASY to re-flash.
Went for pixel 2 xl though still have U11
Second hand U11 is half the price of used Pixel 2 xl in UK which make it good bargain
I ordered a Oneplus 7 pro this weekend and when it comes later this week it will replace my HTC U11. It's been a great device, but the lack of updates has been very disappointing and I might have desided to buy a different phone if I had known HTC's fate ahead of time.
Two years later, my HTC is still going strong, has a better camera (especially combined with the Google Camera ports) than most phones out there.
Only thing that could be a little better is battery life.
I'll wait for a Pixel with multiple camera lenses and 5G connectivity before upgrading this phone - unless the battery performance deteriorates a lot over the coming year.
Well even though the OnePlus 7 Pro is the best Android handset in 2019 thus far, I think I'll instead switch to Pixel 4, maybe Pixel 4XL. There are two reasons: Pixel will have fast updates and less compromises in comparison to OnePlus, as well as the much better camera.

I purchased the Pixel 3a XL because it was so cheap and i have been wanting to feel the Pixel experience since i passed up the 2XL for the U11. This 3a is a great phone. I still find my self using the U11 on WiFi though because it has been an awesome phone. What can i say....been with HTC since the thunderbolt. Pixel experience has been great so far, and unless HTC can shows signs of life i will be taking a serious look at the Pixel 4.
My OP7P turned up yesterday... Seems like quite a nice device. I went the overkill version, 12gb/256gb.
In the hand, its a little heavier and taller than the U11. Camera doesnt compare to the U11 in my opinion (not on stock OP, GCam U11)
Speed! WOW! Not a single slow down for 2 days. But then again, my 6gb U11 was fast enough.
This phone ****s on the P3XL and the Mate 20 Pro which I returned to go back the U11. I dont think ill be returning the OP7.
I dont have the touch screen issues, but im not going to try installing CPU-z to check. (if I have them, im not noticing it so dont want to be looking for it if its there)
If you are happy with the U11 on Lineage or RR etc, then dont bother updating. Its really not that big of an improvement or difference from OOS.
I am getting double the SOT though, so maybe to some it is. Im always near a charger so no issue for me

Thanks for the feedback. Im fighting the update urge within myself ?. Not to op7p but op7 or zenfone 6, or poco f2.
Wrt to camera, only pixel and huawei p30pro is better. Other than that no one can touch u11(gcam) not even s10+. I have used s10+ both EX and SD versions extensively as my wife & bro has it.
I only do web surfing and youtube , social media and NO gaming at all. With this i get 7hrs SOT on wifi and 5.5-6hrs in wifi+lte.
Are you saying it will approx double from u11 with op7p ?
For my usage, high end SOC is not necessary as i dont game at all. However display, camera and battery, good dev support is high on priority. Pixel 3axl in india has been once again insanely priced.
Decisions, decisions ...

For the past 2 days, I've been getting 8 hours of sot. I don't game and probably have similar usage to your description. I have turned the screen to 60hz and 1080p today to see what the difference is. I'd probably look at the op7 over the others. Although, Xiaomi mi9t looks like it would be a contender too.
One thing to note, bootloader unlock on OnePlus loses widevine L1. If that's of interest to you. Not for me...

I haven't rooted in YEARS. Care to give me a brief synopsis on how to get root/s-off(or atleast get me in the right direction? It would be greatly appreciated! Phone is unlocked, and i use Verizon.
So I bought the OnePlus 8 Pro with the intention to replace my OnePlus 7 Pro as my work phone. The phone is incredible but in the end I will be keeping the OnePlus 7 Pro. Being a Verizon user, there are quite a few hurdles to using a OnePlus phone as well. Here is a breakdown of my experience:
PROS of the OnePlus 8
+Much more comfortable to hold, due to narrower size, lighter weight
+The sharper curved screen looks and feels much better than the OP7 Pro
+Wireless charging
+Much improved battery life
+Improved Camera
+Several months ahead on updates
CONS of the OnePlus 8 Pro
-No WiFi Calling on Verizon; delayed text notifications
-OnePlus Gestures (excellent) were replaced by Google's buggy default gestures, the 7 Pro still has them.
-Image retention is a major problem on 120 Hz. In Dark mode, ghosted images can remain for anywhere from 5 seconds to 10 minutes. No issues on 7 Pro
-The hole punch is annoying, not because of its existence, but that OnePlus gives no options without a custom rom
-Android 11 is buggy and needs quite a bit of work
All in all, I'm sad to be returning the OnePlus 8 Pro. It's a gorgeous phone with solid build, and so much potential for customization but I can't justify the cost over keeping the OnePlus 7 Pro with its many annoyances. The OnePlus 7 still has no WiFi calling with Verizon, but is otherwise polished. I hope this helps anyone debating the same upgrade.

It's a shame that. Do you have to use Verizon, it seems that they force people to do what "they" want rather than what "you" need.
I wouldn't give them the time of day personally.
Haven't had any image retention issues on my device, but I have heard this mentioned, seems to be more prevalent in the states than Europe? Not sure why.
Oh and the punch hole.
Lol check the image, I've found a way to make it look decent.
Also 11 for me has been superb, I hated it at first but I got used to it and now I couldn't go back, especially with the under keyboard gap now being removed.
Shame, but good luck with whatever you get next, I'd certainly consider ditching Verizon and going with another provider, they seem to be extremely counter intuitive
I only got the 8 Pro for 5G but prefer my 7 Pro and Volte worked on that

I actually found the camera's on the 7 Pro just as good, really not seen any improvement and as for 5G
I'd say my old 7pro is better than my 8pro. Display doesn't have green tint, camera about the same and 7pro still has Widevine L1 (8pro dropped to L3 on its own)and no cam cut out on display. 8pro upgrade wasn't worth it for me.

Lol the camera is not better on the 7 mate, I wouldn't say that.
I used to be able to get 300+ on 4G. No one needs more than that

We'd have to agree to disagree on that

I think it's highly dependent on the person doing the shooting.
