Hello
Anybody knows how to make vito winterface skins?
It has this file "dafault.skin" (on default.zip) but i cannot edit it.
And if I change the icons from this file "icons.bmp" when I load winterface all the icons where wrong.
Anybody wants to help me?

If you search a few months back in the forums, someone actually was able to skin a whole new icon set, but at the expense of knocking the contact pictures out of whack.
Just search "Winterface". Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Figured it. Will work on a skin in the next couple of days and post.
OK, skins for Winterface start here
Save as Windows Bitmap, 24bit colour depth, RGB colour profile and in the format R5,G6,B5 (available in Photoshop Advanced Options when you save as Bitmap).
Saving Alpha channel makes no difference that I can see.
You'll need to keep the original contact image as it matches the one in the "black.bmp" file and ensures the contact pictures show correctly once you've selected a single contact to dial.
Icons need to fit 42px x 42px squares on the grid

Into the "bin" folder. Backup your others first in case you want to revert to the original

Will have a look and try to do something, doubtful though as it's solid black it's probably hard-wired into the app.

I've looked to see where (if) the background files can be changed.
I'm currently working on changing the weather icons using the same principles as stated above. Looking pretty sweet so far.
EDIT: I'm also taking a crack at an icon theme. Here's a screenshot. Also, notice the icon for weather.

this might just make me go back to Winterface
PS- has anyone managed to skin Fun Contact and SMS Chat yet? getting bored with the original look, they need polished up.

But with the new version of winterface, 1.2, there are some bugs...
ex: task manager make winterface crashes... and the phone shortcut doesn't work...
Yeah. I'm having the same prob, BUT, only with certain icon sets. Very strange. Also, if you add a contact and then click on the contact, their picture doesn't not appear. Although, that may have been my own fault. Still, it was nice to have a glimmer of hope for this app.

1: I've now tried to install the Realize skin. I followed your intsructions in Photoshop, but the icons don't look crisp, as your attached images, and they have purple edges. Why?
2: How can I get wi-fi indicators (as on bluetoth - so I can see whether wi-fi is switched on or off - the same place but the icon changes)?
3: What about icons not determined by Winterface? For example; Applications I buy or other original icons. Can I replace the files in the Windows folder?
4: Off the topic, and in andvance sorry; Do any of you know any good applications for how to administer web connections? It seems like the default connection to the web is through my sim card (3G, EDGE etc), so what I'm doing now is actually "switching off" my phone, then enable wi-fi and then start surfing. There has to be a better solution to this...

Hi all,
I just love the facelift with the realizeicons, great work!
I have the same problem with the task manager (Running) though, as soon as I change to the realizeicons it makes Winterface to crash!
Any solution for this?
In my opinion Winterface is by far the greatest looking GUI for WM-phones today, and it would be really nice if it were a little more skinable.

Dave thanks for the zip files/icons they are great. One problem I noticed after installing them was the sliding lock bar did not work. do you know of a solution?

Just a suggest:
* possible to make it "Scrolling"? Like those TouchFLO Tabs, but... of course, they are program icons...
edit: The concept like the TouchFLO tabs... those icons only take 1 row to display, so when they have more (>6 icons in my case) those icons will drawn off-screen, then a swipe (or drag) a icon horizontally scroll the row of icons to reveal those off-screen ones
This will save a lot of screen estste when people put a lot of icon inside.
edit: This piece works well with my *OLD* Asus P750...

How about having the option to add links to programs? And perhaps with parameters as well. In that case you can skip the option about doc's etc, since you can add link to any doc, program on memory cards etc. And we can freely add programs always located at the same place that are not installed after a hard reset.

Excellent app - replaces the old Eten quicklinks, which suffered greatly from "losing" entries when a new shortcut appeared in \Windows\Start Menu. EasyToday does not have this "feature"
But, SELECT is only one link at a time, you have to return to the list screen for each link that you want checked. So maybe v1.2 willallows multiple selections off the list screen ?

Like this app a lot, but have a suggestion/feature request:
Add the ability to have multiple "pages" of icons that you can flip between with a left/right swipe motion.
I know that's probably not the easiest thing to implement, but it would be awesome.
(actually just noticed Clound pretty much said the same thing -- great minds think alike!)

Second vote for this! This is a great application for those of us who prefer today screen over the touch flow.
I would like some space between the icons to make selection easier. 5 or 4 icons per row with a buffer horizontally, vertical height is fine...

Hi ive been trying notepad apps to find one that has a widget that i can run for direct quick and simple text entry. I work in Desktop support and having a simple text pad to enter desk numbers, codes, etc would be really usefull.

Hi Matt,
if you go Add > Widget, then select the option shown at the top of lot of the list of Widgets (Get more HTC Widgets). Download and install the one titled 'Notes'. Then simply add the widget to the relevant screen.

3 banana have a good note taking app that has a nice widget, it also has a lot more features not available in the HTC notes widget

I was not happy with the centering of the Calendar date on the tray icon-so I included a cab with the fix.
Facebook Tab. You must already have the tab in order to use this. I installed it from Meltwaters and then alterred his manila for tabs

I installed it asap and I like how it works! It works like a charm, I love it. Great job lubbad85, you rock! The only thing I would probably do is just better the screen icons when you change to a different tab on the slider. Those stock white ones will do but I would just see if I could replace them with any other better icons. Just my personal opinion. Other than that, you created a beautiful slider!

In the options for cookies home tab you can put the extra notification bar. I think under miscelaneous The bar is a bit redundant though.
Glad you like the slider. Give me an example of what kind of slider you really want. If you give me a direction I can build one. Manila is very forgiving. If you screw it up you have only to delete the manila file that you put into windows and the phone's ROM will build it back the way it was before the new manila was used.

I've been looking around in C0okie's Home Tab for the past 40 minutes and I believe I've gone through the whole editor twice and I still cannot find the setting which enables the extra notification bar. I feel like a noob or just looking for something that isn't there. I'm running v1.8.5.

I got it! Thank, yet again! As far as the slider goes, it works like a charm! I really don't have any other suggestions for it as of right now. Maybe later as time goes by and I think of something. But if you implement any improvements or make any changes to it please post it up, I will gladly test it out. Thank again!
lubbad85, I found a small little defect that you might consider. When I slide to a desired tab on my touch flo, I find that the tab icon I chose has a blurry icon. It looks like as if there is another lighter icon behind the primary icon. It's just a little annoying and tends to cross my eyes after a while. lol. Check it out in the attachment to understand what I'm talking about.

I found this slider skin very pretty and charming! Is it OK to cook this skin into rom? I'm developing roms for myself, but somehow the xda community convinced me to upload them to public xD

My ROMs won't be updated before August if someone doesn't find some critical bugs
This slider really fits the "old" Sense 2.5 skin, however it has got some images that could be a bit more polished... Ach, and some icons could be a little re-sized, because they aren't this same size. Anyway overall the experience is great! So keep up this wonderful work, first time that I like something that isn't made by ShowTime7.

You can fix this with a darker slider. I will cab it up for you here. It is for 2.5 manila

Hi there, I downloaded and installed the theme, but I dont know how to change the theme, i hate to ask but how exactly do I apply the theme? I tried Star->Settings->Today, but the theme is not on the list of available themes.

You're going to run the .cab file from your storage card and install it onto your device when prompted to. Immediately after the slider is installed it is going to ask you to restart so the changes can take effect. You hit "yes" or "ok" (Not sure which option it gives you) Then, once the device restarts and turns on, the slider will appear and should be already installed automatically. You shouldn't have to do any other additional setting changes after you restart so the slider takes effect.
Hmm I installed all 3 cabs and it just told me "white metal 2.5 2013.cab was successfully installed on your device" (same thing with the other 2) but it didn't prompt me if I wanted to restart the device.
Any ideas why? this blue at&t theme is ok but this B&W Metal theme looks amazing.

Two ways to install. One is you first turn off sense
1. start menu
2. settings
3. today screen
4. items
5. uncheck htc sence
6. install cabs
7. and then go back and check htc sense
Or install the cabs and then soft reset

You just want the sense tab-in other words you already installed the other files neccessary for the tab? So just the tab icons?
If so here is the cab for just the tab sense icons in white to match the set. I cannot test it since I have not installed the control files for this tab.

I saw something cool in the Droid Incredible part. It's called sexy Rosie. Can someone modify the "normal" EsspressoMod, so that it has the small App Drawer from "Sexy Rosie" like in the screenshot? All other thing should stay the same. Or maybe someone can tell me, which file do I have to modify.

Hi sorry to "Jump" this thread but i need help please, i made this theme Carbon Ara v2.4 and for the next release i want to use another bottom bar with a small App drawer like the picture above (#1 post) but i don't know what i must edit to have the same result...
I think we can managed this "touch area" ! I put in this mail my actual "Bottom Bar" but as you see the button in the top left/right (circled in red) are not well placed but if i move them more in the center then they are no more active that is why I will like to find a way to manage the area of the touch.
