And so the March update has been pulled for unknown reasons. Honestly they could've pulled the February update cause it was worse.
Currently sporting the March update and I see no major issues. I came from the November patch on Oreo and I'm slightly disappointed. I no longer get EIS on 1080p 60fps video recording and the equalizer is arguably worse. But at least the phone's alive.
Delete this thread.
Keep on eye this forum, because many threads speak march update.

These are the two problems I am currently aware of with this phone. My phone will arrive on Saturday so I was just wondering if installing Lineage on it would solve
1. the noise which you can hear when recording videos and taking calls
2. The pink tint which you get when recording 4k videos
I am also aware that there is no official build of Lineage for Moto G5/plus
Does anyone have any estimate as to when that would be out?
1st Law of XDA... NO ETA!
2nd No, lineage doesn't fix red tinted corners... Latest stock fix noise in videos.
Official Lineage will come when it has to. People are working on it.
Cheers!
And yeah I know I shouldn't ask for ETA but I thought thats only for bugging the devs by flooding them with ETA questions. What I'm asking is just how long does it usually take for a phone to get a new rom.
I've had my 6P for over a year. I'm not really sure when this started but possibly 2 weeks ago when the newest security update came out. When I try and record a video, it shows that I'm recording but actually doesn't record. It happens for probably 4/5 videos I take - maybe more. It "records" and ends but never shows up in Photos. I have over 10gb of free space.
I'm using Google camera ver. 4.4.012.156195200.
Android 7.1.2 with security patch from July 5.
Hi,
I am currently looking how to get a PH-1 to Germany. Meanwhile, I have a question to happy users and owners: While I have read a lot about the camera and its app it is not exactly clear to me whether this is a hardware issue or a software issue. However, it seems to me that with recent updates Essential could significantly improve quality and overall performance of the camera.
All PH-1 reviews have been writte until October/November 2017. And information about updates for the camera app only have limited contents such as "improves stability and adds finctions".
So, from an experienced user's perspective: is it a software issue, and is the camera meanwhile 'comparable' to other flagship phones ragarding picture quality? I am explicitly not talking about functionality as it seems to me that the PH-1 is designed to get rid of unnecessary stuff or what may be considered so.
Simply asked: How would you rate and review the camera as of to date?
Thanks,
Eriol

the stock camera is good not as all other flagship like pixel 2 ?but the gcam magisk mod is really amazing and bring some extra cool stuff and really improve picture quality ??
@Eriol The camera will not win any awards, but it is sufficient when there's plenty of daylight. I also find that the portrait mode works really well. Below is an example, and lighting was not even that great. Do yourself a favor though, don't buy a Sprint version. Just pay a little more for the OPENUS unlocked version. Save yourself the hassle. Sorry, don't know why the picture rotated.
Guys,
Woke up this morning to a software install, does anyone know what this update is.... I can say that it's not a security patch. Security still reading july, 2018
Wondering the same, hopefully a nee camera fix coming, do you get bad noise in manual video on the wide angle, only 1080p60 looks good, got horrible noise on 4k30 and 1080p30
I am on the ATT GS8+ and I got the October patch along with super slow motion video and working my emoji maker a few days back. I've played with it over the weekend and both are very fun. The super slow motion video is totally worth it; even if it isn't 960fps its still better than the standards 240. Hopefully, everyone else will start getting it soon.
The version is G955USQU5CRIB in case anyone is wondering.
