Uninstall any previously installed AR Core and Playground/AR Stickers app and then download this and install both the apks. After doing all these head towards Gcam and you'll see a option named AR Stickers https://www.mediafire.com/file/qljj8dljqt72dq8/ARStickers.zip
do I have to install something on magisk?
Error: Air Stickers Fails Continuously
Force closes,
Not working
Just follow these easy steps and you will be able to install Playground and Measure.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/ar/
Measure sample:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/623s8HXcak9816mSA
When they won't work anymore go to Magisk Manager, disable, re-enable the module then reboot. Should work now.
Carefully follow these step but no luck. ARsticker and measure app closed ?
No working
yes you are right my friend, I also have tried a lot of Arcore installations and playgrounds to decorate google camera videos, but unfortunately all the guides on xda I have tried with the results of sadness. currently waiting for a developer to build arcore perfection and playground for xiaomi a1 rom stock with support for magisk and twrp. I hope someone is dev.
Actually it works on my mi a1. The only thing, after a while the stickers won't hold their position.

This method works perfectly on my mi A1 with latest CrDroid 5.2

I've noted that since the first time I flahsed Xiaomi.EU rom in my 3S, Mi Remote app stopped working with my tv and air conditioner.
The app runs without problems, I can add new devices and search them by brand, but when I prss the blue button "to test" the IR codes, no code works.
On stable MIUI or a custom ROM like RR/LOS the app works without problems. I'm in the latest weekly release (based on china beta 7.6.8)
Is anyone else having this problem? If so, has anyone solved it? Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: I did the following to make Mi Remote App work:
Root the ROM, using the latest SuperSU zip
Remove the Mi Remote apk from system partition, or install some uninstaller from the Play Store and uninstall Mi Remote App
Reboot
Install Mi Remote from Play Store, or download the APK and install it.
Now it's working without problems, with the downside of having to root to make this possible. It was possible to delete the apk from TWRP to avoid rooting, but didn't try that.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
Thank you. I had the same problem in Mi Globe ROM(Which is based on Xiaomi.EU). Your solution helped.
Hi,
I read a lot in this forum and in other sites about the possibility to enable Camera2API on our fantastic MINote3 phone but, at the end, I don't understand if is possible to enable che Camera2API WITHOUT root the device. Can someone give me a final answer about this question ?
PS
If the answere is "yes, is possible without root", then other questions are:
is ok this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/tool-google-camera-root-magisk-enable-t3747585/page10 (see post 98) or is only ok for MI A1 ? Are there other methods ?

If you can install TWRP you can enable it without rooting your system, as TWRP has root priveliges while it is running.
Here you can find a zip file to flash in TWRP to enable it.
I have used it.

Yes, I have done it myself on Mi Note 3 running the latest Xiaomi.eu weekly 8.4.26.
I have also done it on Mi Max Prime, Mi Mix, and Mi Note 2.
If you had read the whole thread you would have seen my posts.

Thank you soo much for all your informations.
Only one question: is necessary to flash the twrp on the device or is enough to load the twrp via the command "fastboot boot twrp.img" ?

It "should" work to only boot into TWRP without flashing it.
That is if you do not want to install TWRP, just use it once.
The next time you reboot, your new TWRP will be gone again.
I have not tried this myself.
I will try the procedure where I only boot twrp (without flash it) then will try to enable camera2api parameters on built.prop and also change permission of this file (with su permission).
I will update this thread with a feedback about the operation
Hi,
finally I enable Camera2API on Mi Note 3 (with last official global rom) WITHOUT root the device. These are my tasks:
- unlock the bootloader (with MI official utility) and lost all my data
- flash TWRP Red Wolf then run it and, to give the right access to the partitions, I wipe and format my device from the TWRP menu and reboot the device
- Then, from TWRP, I install "HZQ_MIUI_Camera_Mod_CAMERA2_API_170824.zip"
Thanks Cobben for the good informations
PS
Now I use GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.2.apk and run very well. The quality of the night shoots is better a lot respect xiaomi default camera
I add that with gcam the videos are better that xiaomi cam:
- less nois
- better color
- much details
Then, at the end, gcam become the main camera app on my device (and I will use xiaomi cam only for boken effect or camera zoom)

Hi, I installed the Xiaomi.eu rom and installed also the Google camera (v.7.9.4 - everything is working correctly even the Slow motion). I can say that the Miui camera is on par with Google camera or a level down. The Miui camera uses the algorithm in the open-source Gcam app. You can try the Xiaomi.eu rom which is based on China rom - it is great.
In my case instead I use the last global 9.5.3.0 and gcam is the best

I didn't install the magisk module since I have already enabled the Camera2API with adb, but I've installed the apk and everything works!
Have you modded it specifically for this device?

The best Port almost, Very few crashes!
most stable version i used ? thanks ? keep it updated
Slow motion not working.
Video recording UHD4K not working.
Video recording 1080p 60fps is over zoomed.
Night sight working but viewfinder is not working, green screen.
Frontal camera detected as 5 MP only.
Should I be rooted?
If I install the magisk module, do I alter system partition? Or maybe lose OTA?
Thanks in advance.

If you have time, convert to 6X and flash Carbon PIE ROM. Latest version is two days old, and Pixel 3 gcam port is stable, no crashes. In general this ROM is much better than stock, battery life is solid. Compared to stock Pie ROM, 4K recording and slow motion do not work in Gcam, but I am using Snap Cam for 4K recording with EIS. In summary Carbon PIE is best ROM so far for A2/6X, you have some customization compared to stock and have double tap to wake, and most importat for me, Pixel 3 camera port is working like a charm
@Mr.Nice.ba, to much hustle for another variant of pie rom, and I must say, I am very pleased how stock PIE works for now, maybe I'm not demanding user after all...but thanx for proposal.
Perfect mod.
Thanks, @Gleison lima!

Is it possible to have the 20 mp front on google camera? what i understand is that is a camera2api limitation, am i alright?
Anyway, thanks op for the mod, i really like it. Just a question, is it possible to get a raw file with night sight? i don't know if its possible with pixel 3, just asking. Again, thank u :highfive:
I just installed the camera.apk and the camera crashes right away. Do I need to install the magisk module?
UPDATE..I FLASHED THE MAGISK MODULE WOOOORRRKKINNGG.
Night sight is working and viewfinder also working for me. Haven't tested anything else. Just received Mi A2 today and already sideloaded pie and installed magisk and enabled gcam.
brother when will you update this app?
Apk doesn't install, i am on pixel experience latest build
Is there a way to install it

Mi a2 gcam issue
Hi i just bought mi a2 how can i install gcam without adb use
Is there any other method
After finally receiving Pie today, my Gcam doesn't work correctly anymore. What I mean by this it's that it can't focus properly.
Otherwise the app opens, it doesn't crash, and this phenomenon occurs only on the rear camera while taking a photo. Video focusing works, front camera focus works.
Any ideas?
December 5 security patch
Android 9
From Arnova's mods to the lates 6.1 Gcam versions, I was affected by this phenomenon
Well, I lost Hal3 during the process.. so GCam doesn't work at all. I'm trying to enable Camera2 API, but it didn't work so far. I've seen tutorials on how to do it through adb, but just doesn't do anything.
Try this
-First of all install (Camera2 API Probe)
Open it and check hardware support level (probably it's show LEGACY)
- Now install (Camera2 API Enabler)
open the app and enable:
- Enable Camera2 API
- Enable Camera EIS
Then apply
-Restart your phone
-Open Camera2 API Probe again (you must see new result as the attachment)
Now open your GCam and voila!
I will have problems with gcam if I upgrade to pie without a factory reset?

I can confirm, that tap to focus does not work at all. All I get is out of focus picture in the viewfinder and that's all. Stock camera app works great, though.
Thread moved to the correct location.
Thanks for being careful next time.

It's still Level_3 for me.. I guess we gotta wait for the guys with exp to figure it out..
bsg test 8.1 version works. selfie camera quality is sheit though. Also, portrait mode doesn't. But night sight does, which is nice!
false alarm, bsg 8.1 works for normal pics, but night sight has the same focus hunting issue as other apps
Guys. My wife's A1 had camera2 api enabled through that method that unlocks bootloader, enter the TWRP, change the build.prop line and after relock the bootloader. No root or TWRP installed.
If she update the system to pie, does it will edit again build.prop reverting Level 3? At least I saw mixed experience here with people saying the two things.

In my case after upgrading to pie, the level 3 persisted, so no need to do anything else.
However, the gcam ports do not work well as in oreo. Mostly problems with autofocus and selfie camera

For those who is wondering ARCore is working on the MI9
Install the Magisk module ARcore enabler download ARCore in the Playstore.
And you are done.
I would like to get it without root Mi 8 and Mi 8 se are compatible. I think this is "only" a matter do time before we get it on mi9. I just don't understand why is it not available from the launch date. Is this a normal procedure for ARCore from Google? I never investigated this
Wysłane z mojego MI 9 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Works perfectly ! Thanks so much for the info.
I installed it from Google Play directly.
Not the application, google play from Firefox app directly in the phone app.
Search in the Firefox app in the phone: "google play ar core", it can be installed.
Now can be installed directly via playstore. Maybe arcore started being supported for mi9.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.ar.core
Update?
Hi,
Xiaomi Greece told me today that the ARCore is already fully compatible on the official "Developer ROM" and it will be promoted to the "Stable ROM" on the next official update.
Did anyone try it in the "Developer ROM"?
Does it work as expected, with all features intact?
Thank you!
