I got a notification tonight that some updates were available. This is outside the Play Store and send to be an update directly from LG. It's just for some app I've never heard of and doesn't show up in the app drawer so naturally I was suspicious. Of course the name is so generic that's impossible to Google LG Account v20.
So any ideas what this might bring me?
Actually LG account is an authentication provider for you to sync your data and settings. You can find it at - Settings > Users & Accounts > Add Account > LG Account

Just received a nexus one. I didn't add google account when nexus one was started for the first time. It can connect internet correctly and access google reader and gmail.
But I can't add google account in nexus one later so can't download software from market. I tried a couple of times, it still failed.
The error message is "this could be a temporary problem o your phone may not be provisioned with data services".
Has anyone seen the similar issues? Any one can help on this? Thanks in advance!
Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > add Account.
Thanks! This is exactly what I did. But Adding google account failed.
The error message is "this could be a temporary problem o your phone may not be provisioned with data services".

After factory reset, it can work now(adding google account right after reset).
Is this a defect or bug in Anroid 2.1 or Nexus one. The user should be able to add google account later.
I did not add a Google account at first because I did not have myAPN set up. I was able to add it later though. So I do not think it is a problem with the phone or android 2.1. Atleast not all of them.

Yes, a few guys in google help forum reported the same issue. Not sure it's Nexus one's issue or 2.1's.
Try a factory reset, shouldn't be too much of a hassle since you haven't set it up too much, right?
Log in via the mobile network first, not WiFi... that's a typical error message if you try and create an account via WiFi before doing so via the mobile network.
If you've already tried this... sorry, I can't offer anything more.
Anyone has any issue with Google Contact Sync? It says "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly".
Several methods I've tried before:
1. Delete the Google account and add again
2. Clear data from "Contacts Storage"
3. Enable all google related services that I have disabled before (Google Newstand, Google Book and etc)
It seems that I can only download the contacts the first time I add the account, but any edit I make on the phone won't sync back to Google.
Can't find any other new method from Google result...

Go to contacts (not with phone but contact app) go to settings then account and see if Google is there
Yes it is there, along with other stuff like Whatsapp, Samsung, Facebook etc. I have tried removing Google, re-add again, and then tweak one contact on my phone, and then go back to the setting > account > google to check, and there it is, "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" on the Contact part..
I was wondering if you got anywhere on this when you had the issue? I am having a similar problem.
Hello,
I was wandering if there was an easy method for the compete ignorant to transfer contacts from the defy phone to Google. I tried to long press a contact or edit it but no option was offered to save it in Google. Since Motorola is a Google company i naively thought this should have been a piece of cake.
Thanks in advance for your time
PS it for a friend and i don't have the exact model #

easiest way to sync your contacts to google is
Settings > accounts > google > click on the *google account* that is on the device, then untick *Contacts* option, then tick it Again. ( with mobile data or wifi on)
and google bought motorola in 2012 and defy was launched in 2010.
and google has already sold moto to lenovo.

Hmm, Thanks, i understand now my mistake.
As for your procedure: if i understand you well, what you are recommending is to force contact sync. This should normally result in synchronizing the contacts of the phone defined as belonging to the "Google account" (as opposed to "local') with the contacts on Google server. But i think that the contacts in my friend's phone has been seized as "local" ...
I was able to set up Exchange account for Gmail on Nexus 6 but don't even have this option on 6P. I Googled this issue and someone said that I need Google's Exchange Service apk but it's not pre-installed on 6P (definitely was on 6). I downloaded one from mirror they provided and it seems to work now.

I actually could swear that I added this account to my phone as soon as I got it but now this account is simply missing (like the guy said in the last post)
Anyway, why did Google remove this option? Is there some issue? Is this the only workaround or is there a better/right way to do this?
Would recommend you to try Nine Exchange on Play Store instead!
My work has all of the stupid policies enabled and Nine just works wonderful without the need to password protect my whole phone aswell as I just have to password protect the app instead. With the Nexus Imprint you can also open the app with your fingerprint
+1 for Nine. Have been using it for a few years, it's by far the best Exchange client.
I think Inbox might also be an option, but haven't tried it.
Trying to stay with Gmail as I have had no issues until Google removed this support by default for some reason. It works good now as I manually added it.
I really like to have all my emails under same app and I'm used to Gmail.
Does Nine also add events to Google Calendar and integrates this account into Do Not Disturb Automatic Rules? That's another thing I love about Google's integration of Exchange into OS.
It's just strange that Google kept saying that Android are work "friendly" now and then they remove the "native" support for Exchange.
Nine ... Best money I've ever spent on an app. Truly Enterprise level Exchange email client for Android. Their support is phenomenal too. They've personally addressed multiple bugs and enhancement requests I've submitted.

Umm, my 6P on 6.0.1 has Exchange Services already installed. Settings -> Apps -> Three dot menu - Show system. Scroll down, its there. Maybe you didn't know how to add an Exchange account to Gmail? Gmail -> Side menu -> Little down arrow next to your Gmail account -> Add account -> Exchange.
Guess I don't see why you had to download some APK for this.
+1 for Nine, been using it forever. And yes, it integrates with Google Calendar.
Another ringing endorsement for Nine here as well. Phenomenal app and you can still fingerprint unlock the phone, as it's software-level security over device-level (your choice)
And I believe the reason the 'Email' app is gone is because they want us to use Gmail.

As does mine. I'm currently syncing my exchange account through gmail.

Interesting. I definitely did NOT have Exchange Services APK (I specifically checked and I remember it on Nexus 6). And no, I did not have the Exchange option in Gmail until I side-loaded that APK.
Could someone please check if this APK is "uninstallable"? That's the only thing I can think of..... that I manually uninstalled it when I got the phone. At the moment I can only disable it but since I side-loaded it, who knows how it's supposed to be by default..... hmmm, that's actually interesting that a side-loaded app can only be disabled now LOL.
Anyway, it works and I am happy.
Thanks!
I purchased a Galaxy Tab 4 (w/10 in screen) quite awhile back from Barnes and Noble for my wife. I recently created a 2nd user account for myself to use the tablet as well. I have found that I'm unable to delete any accounts that get saved under "My accounts". This includes Yahoo & Yandex email apps, google account (I want to keep this account but verified the delete option is not available), Firefox account, etc.
I've unsuccessfully tried 3 things to remove these accounts:
1) I can't find an option looking in the individual apps to delete the accounts.
2) A google search found several sources which indicate that Settings > General > Accounts should have an option at the bottom of the screen to delete these accounts when you select each account individually. That option is NOT available on for my user ID or my wife's user ID (which I checked to see if it may be different).
3) I also tried going to Settings > General > Application Manager, selecting individual apps and clicking the "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data" buttons. This does NOT remove the account either- just the app data which is then reloaded when the app is opened.
If possible, I don't want to delete my user account and have to start over installing apps, restoring files, etc. I've reached the extent of my abilities in troubleshooting this. Any suggestions would be appreciated on successfully deleting these accounts for my userID. Below are the technical details for our tablet. Please let me know if any additional data or screen prints would be helpful. Regards.
