When i am in vivid mode , display is turning very warm even when i turn off blue light filter .. it goes away when i change display mode to natural
Edit.
Well found the answer on the S10 forums.
If you did a transfer of your setting from a pixel or one plus and you had you blue light on a schedule then most likely the setting carried over and it will turn on in addition to whatever you have it set for on the S10+. Download playbooks from the store and open a free book and click on the aA (font setting) and click setting and then turn off night light.

My ATT Galaxy S4 (SGH-1337) screen went dark a couple of months ago. I had not turned the phone on in some time. Two days ago, I turned the phone on and was able to see the screen barely, under the right light.
I was able to get the screen in a very workable condition by following steps below. There is one exception, the camera. It takes good photos but the viewfinder screen is still pretty dark.
1. Under Brightness:
a. Turn automatic brightness off
b. Turn brightness slider to up to brightest level
(the slider bar itself has an issue: turning to highest level actually causes screen to darken , at about 75%, the screen is brightest)
2. In Screen Mode select Dynamic
3. Install "Filter Your Screen" app from Playstore
a. Create filter with all 4 elements (Alpha, Red, Green, Blue) set to highest settings
Any ideas how to fix the camera viewfinder will be appreciated.
What's up guys! I've been having a problem with my phone that turns all red colors a little brighter, to a pinkish color. It's REALLY weird because I know it's not the hardware. When I restart, the colors all go normal and red for about 15 seconds after boot. After about 15 seconds, the color resets back to pink. This change from red to pink happens everywhere. On the home screen, inside apps, and in videos.
I have check all the settings like brightness and adapt display and nothing is out of place.
I will probably factory reset my phone if I can't find a solution but then I'll root to use titanium back up.
Anyone have any ideas?

Are you saying your screen mode is set to adapt display? I have my device set to movie and I can see the change in colors when my S4 switches from the normal screen profile to the movie profile shortly after boot. Although, if you have screen mode set to adapt display you shouldn't notice any change in the colors.

Adapt display was checked. But I found the problem, it was actually the Color Adjustment setting in the "Accessibility" section.
Thanks for the reply!

I really love this new Always On Display (AOD) feature, it's really classy and elegant.
But, one thing I noticed is that the brightness level seems to be automatically adjusted, and when its bright it surely drains the battery.
Is there anyway to set this brightness manually? I tried changing the display brightness in manual mode, but it does not seem to use that settings.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I dont think there is an option, if there is i am also interested.
I personally thought the Display sometimes was too bright.
i..e In a Dark Room and the Light was more ambient than it really needed to be.
Then the misses would ask me to turn off the night light lol!
Always On
Dear All, I just bought my S7 Edge and picked it up yesterday. I'm quite impressed with this display!
I thought the same thing you guys tought... The Always On Display is very bright!
But here is some info that I searched over the internet. Don't know about it's reliability, but seems legit.
New Always On Display
An interesting function that first appeared on the Galaxy Note 4 Edge in 2014 was always keeping a portion of the OLED screen on when the phone is off (in standby), so certain content can be displayed all day and all night long, but with a very small power drain that has very little effect on the battery running time. This is possible on an OLED display with a mostly black background because every sub-pixel is independently powered, so black pixels and sub-pixels don’t use any power.
The new Always On Display mode shows various personalized clock, calendar, status messages, notifications, and images on the main screen when the phone is on standby. It measures the ambient light level and has both day and night modes, plus it’s smart enough to stay off when the phone display is face down, or it senses a dark confined space such as a pocket or handbag. The OLED display produces an illuminated main screen image 24 hours a day so you can always discreetly check it with just a glance. As a result, the OLED Always On Display will reduce the need for a smartwatch, which seems likely to become an endangered species. We’ll cover this in more detail below.
Here is where I picked it up. Cheers Guys!
(Received a message with the information that I can't post url's.. ) sorry...
Type this in google, "always on display s7 edge brightnes" then it is the 3rd link in the url contains displaymate
same, it quite bright, and with my testing if you can keep ut at its lowest brightness, it consumes 0.3%/hr. that would be absolutely great.
there is an app always on display plus which helps in that
if you mark on auto brightness , it will be done
I unmarked Auto Brightness and seems not brights
Hello guys did anyone find a solution to this?

I've noticed that it is automatically adjusting by the amount of light in the room (and it's quite sensitive, always brighter than needed). It would be great if there was an option to manually set the brightness, but only small bunch of people are actually interested in this.

This app does not changing the actual brightens, seams to be there is no solution yet.
I tried changing the screen brightness to minimum and disabling auto brightness, but the AoD brightness seems to be controlled independently.
Trying out an app called Always On AMOLED - it has a night mode. Gonna test power consumption of both
Mine used to auto adjust but not anymore. I think the last software update changed this.
GS7
I'd love to have an adjustment setting. I'm having the opposite problem as most. Mine isn't bright enough! Oh well. Hope they change that!
AOD brightness fix for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. May fix others
This may not help everyone as I am giving you the solution for the S9 and S9 Plus, but look in your settings to see if you have the same thing.
Under 'Lock Screen and Security' select AOD and select 'Show Always'. Once you've selected the Content to Show, disable Auto Brightness then move the slider as far right as possible and underneath that select Show Always.
Job done. Next time you see your AOD it'll be full brightness. It is still not bright enough but better than before. If you then go into 'Clock Style' and change the colour after type and choose a fairly stand out colour, this will make your clock stand out even more.
I hope I've helped at least a few people.

i feel like its to bright... i want to dim it. dont need it to be that clear.... i wil continue my search....
Threw search and having both s7 and s9+ I noticed the 9+ has the ability to adjust the brightness of the AOD very easily in settings or double tap the screen and u see the settings. Works perfect on the 9+ as for the s7 doesnt have the same settings they both say the latest version available is downloaded but it's an s7.. so I just think that setting dont exist on the s7. The brightness is controlled on it's own and u really have no control manually on the brightness.. I think it's a new thing for new galaxies but the 7 isnt gonna do it.. eh.. so I suggest a contrast color which makes it "brighter" to the eye. And basic and big.. it's for quick glances anyways... sucks tho..
Hey guys,
so far I’m really happy with my new 6T. But I’ve found one bug which I’d like to see fixed.
I like to use either the sRGB or the DCI-P3 color profile as the standard color profile is just too saturated and contrasty for my liking. And at night, I’d like to use the display night mode, to reduce blue light. Unfortunately, if the screen is off and I wake up the phone, (doesn’t matter if it’s via face unlock or screen unlock) the screen changes itself to Standard color profile and you can slowly see the night mode take effect – but on top of the standard color profile which is, as mentioned above, not my cup of tea. It happens with both sRGB and DCI-P3 profiles and night mode enabled.
Only if you then turn night mode off again, you can literally see the colors jump back to your original set profile. Which obviously cannot and should not be the intended way night mode works, as night mode also reduces contrast and saturation. This can be seen if you have set the color profile to Standard in the first place and then turn on night mode, which basically shifts the colors to sRGB. Curiously enough, if you then lock the phone and wake it up, everything is as it should be and as I'd like it to be when sRGB is the set profile, meaning the color profile stays sRGB like and night mode is in effect.
I’m running completely stock Oxygen OS 9.0.5., no root, didn’t unlock bootloader or anything.
Does anyone else experience this behavior? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
I've been trying to find an answer to this issue since I got the phone. It is appalling that both ambient display and the lock screen are not affected by night mode. It is completely counteractive to how night mode should work.
And I have no idea why they disable color profiles when in night mode. In the settings menu, once you enable night mode, the screen calibration option is greyed out. But it is clearly not a technical limitation because enabling sRGB and then night mode produces the proper effect of a night-shifted sRGB color space. Waking the phone at night turns night mode off on the lock screen, and puts it in standard profile, then shifts to night-shifted standard profile after unlocking. I hate it.
If you come across an answer, please post it back here so others (and I) can find it.
Also, small technical note: night mode does not affect saturation or contrast or color space, only color temperature. sRGB is an entirely different color space with different saturation and gamma curves.

Thanks for your reply. Glad I'm at least not the only one noticing this issue.
As to your last statement, I would've thought so too. But this does not seem to be the case here. If you set the color profile to standard and then turn on night mode, the color space gets changed to sRGB, at least from what I can see. It looks completely different than the falsely activated night shifted standard profile, and looks exactly like the night mode in top of the sRGB mode, so less saturation and contrast (gamma). I don't know if this is intentional but makes it all the more confusing, because it retains the combination of sRGB + night mode even after locking and unlocking.

Wow, you are exactly right. I never thought to try that method, but I agree with your assessment. In standard calibration, night mode also toggles sRGB on and off. This is not affected by lock.
In both sRGB and DCI-P3, toggling night mode does not change calibration, but waking from lock leaves it stuck in standard calibration until you toggle night mode again.
And in all scenarios, the lock screen is never in night mode. Also, the add fingerprint page disables night mode and sticks you back into standard calibration with night mode, no matter which calibration you had selected. So the add fingerprint page acts exactly like the lock screen. This leads me to believe that the fingerprint sensor needs a very specific color of light to operate. But that doesn't excuse the fact that calibration keeps switching and getting stuck. I would think they can override that though.
I just made a post about this on reddit. Maybe up vote it to help increase visibility as this is the first mention I've seen about this issue other than this reddit post.

The whole night mode issues and ambient display going max brightness are super frustrating. This is my first non Nexus/pixel since the oneplus 1, and these small issues are making me question if leaving for a less stable manufacturer was a good idea
After doing some more testing, I've determined this whole ordeal is tied to the fingerprint sensor. Deleting all my fingerprints (disabling it entirely) has resolved all the issues of switching calibrations an night mode toggling. Everything works as it should, except ambient display never is night mode. But the lock screen is in night mode.
I'm personally ok with this for now. Face unlock is very quick, and smart lock keeps my phone unlocked at home at night. Hopefully this gets fixed for real in a future update.

Exactly what i discover. Night mode not works when fingerprint senor is active which means on screen lock and app lock.Don't know weather they do it intentionally(to work fp sensor fine) on not but this is seriously irritating and painful to eyes.
i recently bought a used s7 edge. the cellphone's display is damaged buf overall it works fine. except for a few issues mainly related to light sensor according to my understanding.
1: the display flickers when auto brightness turned off or when brightness is set to anything less than maximum
workaround: i installed screen filter app to control the brightness
2: the screen goes to green screen of death when device is put to sleep
workaround : turn AOD to always on and never Turn it off
3: the display goes to green death screen during call and wont get normal unless call is ended and screen is locked and turned on..
4 : at AOD ,the screen flickers at night time or in a dark place but gets back normal in bright light..
info i need : i thought what if it was possible to change the android framework values for the light sensor so that no matter whatever the light of the surrounding may be.. the device will always think it's in bright light.
for example if the settings for current values are
high 5000 medium 2000 low 600
then i change it to
high 1000 medium 500 low 25
so that the device will always think its in full bright area..
can anyone help me in achieving this goal? thanks
