Hmmm think its for custom ROMs with stock you shouldn't be having any issues. Have you tried wiping data for Google app. Or going onto apkmirror and getting latest . Also can try in reverse by disabling Google app and uninstalling app updates. ?

I've installed the ARCore and Playground stickers but can't figure out how to activate it inside the camera app.
Same question from my side also ...
Playground/AR stickers only work with the Google camera port for now as far as I'm aware.
It has been few weeks all working great for me using gcam and then arstickers

Can u please tell me which Gcam version are you using + the process u followed? I am using "MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.3d_TlnNeun_2", but can't seem to find anything related to AR stickers. I have ARCore and Playground already installed. Thanks.
Edit: Got it to work
See attached screen showing Playground option in GCam app.

Exactly which version do you have? Because I don't have that playground option either. I have the latest one from the courts in the app section.
