is your phone new? if so how new? take it back to where you purchased it from. did it come into contact with any water? water damage is a *****. do you have insurance? if so make a claim on defective handset
hope this helps
i got used and i cant returen it
I had the same issue after my phone came into contact with bubble solution in my niece's purse. The screen seemed to work randomly for a while and eventually it went all bad. Now I feel like I have a smartphone without the nice resolution! Sorry, I don't think it gets better from here. My phone was also not returnable since I got it on ebay.
Hi all.
My X1 goes on reparation.
In the last 2 weeks touch screen random don't respond to my finger. In the last days problem went too heavy so I went to shop and sent to rep.
I wait for phone coming back repaired.
Does anybody have same problem?
im now on z1... and i have that problem when touch screen takes life of its on and starts to go around -.-
same thing is on z1s and z2 tablet...
how about z2 the phone?
so far so good?
Any liquid on screen creates this problem for me with th Z2. It does not matter if its moister, sweat or rain drops they make the screen cray cray only way out is to wipe the screen.
Not only..when i chat more than 20 minutes some of my finger touches are not recognized and i must to touch the screen with my other hand to rec.it.. its strange.. .314.. hope Sony will fix it. (hope its not something with the metal frame and sensor confusion).

This is true of every capacitive touch screen I have ever used.

I owned Z2 and Z2 Tab. If you leave so munch oil or finger-print on your screen it will cause touch problem, wipe out and everything is fine.
You may try tempered glass or mate screen protector to reduce this problem.
This is exactly why I never wanted to give up my slide out keyboard phone. I wish more people were like me, I kept holding out for someone to make a respectable keyboard phone but I guess there's no market. I am not a fan of using the touch screen for entering text and numbers. Today was a prime example, my morning was rushed and I am fumbling to try an enter a new hires phone number. So frustrating, I swear it was the 15th try that I finally got it! Here I am fumbling with a phone while trying to direct workers to their tasks and deal with production and management at the same time.

still holding ontu my n900 and n950... my z1 died and got new under warranty... wanna sell it and go for z2 if it doesnt have touch problems like z1...
rocking n950 for now...
yes it does
thats my z2 has ghost touch i dunno what to do to fix it yet
old firmwares seem to bring up alot of ghost touches
i had very little on 314 firmware
also on my older units, i had them regardless of the firmware
I remember back when I had .55 the screen sensitivity was pretty bad, especially during phone calls when it suddenly turns on when it shouldn't, also double tap to wake wasn't as responsive. After upgrading to .314 it seemed to fix those problems
I had this problem with my Z2, too.
Then, after an unlucky drop, my screen was broken, so I got the screen repaired. After approx. a week my screen got more and more its own life. At the end the phone was totally unuseable. The repair shop replaced the screen again, since then it just apperars from time to time like before.
I think Sony has some issues with these screens. My S2 which I had before the Sony had never such issues, even if the screen was quite dirty. Maybe thats why they introduced the Z3 so fast?
Here you can see the "amok screen". I enabled "Show touch" in the developer options.

Really strange, since I have never had that problem with my unit,
by the way, just for curiosity, how much have you paid for repair and where have you done it?

Paid for repair 225€ at a shop in Berlin. No official repair shop, in this case it would have been about 350€. However, it is no longer waterproof.
But they replaced the defective (ghost operated) screen without any questions at no cost.

Kinda too much, but then again Sony in Serbia replaced my back cover for 50e, but when I come to think about it, it's probably because the average salary here is around 300e
Hello xda community, my old xperia z1, had touch problems. Last summer i sunk it in a pool to take photos etc, and a day after that large parts of the screen were not working along with the rotation of the screen. So i thought i'd replace LCD+digitizer with a genuine one that i bought from ebay. I followed a great tut from youtube and with the correct tools and adhesive i did it. Only to turn it on and see that touch screen was not working at all. I thought out was discovered so i sent it back and got a replacement. I this time used anti static wrist wrap. And i just found out it didn't work this time either. After so many completely disappointing tries i thought that the problem might be with the ribbon cable connecting the mainboard with the screen so i quickly ( and without much thinking bought one for 12 euros).
I don't know what else to do and i can't even seem to find the real problem so my last shot is you guys. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
I would definately love to hear your ideas and solutions or even better if you got the same experiences I'd love to hear it. Please point me in the right direction, i would lovely appreciate it. :highfive: :fingers-crossed:
Thank you in advance,
deejaytelis

Hello, Even I am facing this problem on my Xperia C4 Dual. Have you got any resolution from the service centre ?
I have this problem too. It seems the touchscreens are just not good quality and sit too close to the outer screen and register a lot of false touches. It is abhardware, not software problem. You can only send it for repair/replacement.
Son service center at Hyderabad replaced by defective Xperia C4 with brand new Xperia Z5 dual.
How did u get it replaced and how much extra did u pay?
