I have been able to root my NEM-L51 EMUI 5.0 with those instructions :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/twrp-t3588356
BE CAREFUL : it doesn't use official twrp, there is still some big issues with it, so do not use the twrp for other things than rooting your device.
Although I tested @miststudent2011 instructions on NEM-L51 and, even if i've been able to add the lines regarding OTG in the stock build file, it didn't make OTG work on the phone, even after reboot.

Well, i can't open it : each time i try to open the smart assistance menu, my phone quit settings and go for the home screen. I don't know what causes that, but i'll wait for other nem-l51 owners to test it, to see if it's only me and i need to do a clean reinstall or if it's not just me.

No you can't use the official twrp nemo 'cause it doesn't work on EMUI 5.0 yet. They need to do an update.
However, strictly follow the instructions on the Olddroid post to root your phone and you should be fine.

Unfortunately you cant get OTG support in P8 lite its kernel is different and we are trying to port it for P8 Lite from 4C.
If we get succeeded will post here.
Do check the thread once in a while.
Except OTG all the other options will work on P8Lite.

So Bullhead lives on. Google has released 8.1 Dev Preview with final release planned for December...
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-8-1-oreo-developer-preview-1/
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/1...loper-preview-final-release-planned-december/
Changelog below.
https://www.droid-life.com/2017/10/25/android-8-1-developer-preview-changelog/
Most interesting part for our 2 GB RAM device.
Improved Targeting for Low-RAM Devices
Android 8.1 (API level 27) adds two new hardware-feature constants, FEATURE_RAM_LOW and FEATURE_RAM_NORMAL, to Package Manager. These constants allow you target the distribution of your apps and APK splits to normal- or low-RAM devices.
These constants enable the Play store to promote a better user experience by highlighting apps especially well-suited to the capabilities of a given device.
has anyone tried it already? root works? magisk? thanks!
I'm running it now and I can verify that magisk 14.3 works to root 8.1

Good to hear. Might give it a whirl soon, but I'm waiting to see if there are any reports of sluggishness/lag, etc. Hopefully the battery is just as good. I actually get more battery on Oreo than Nougat, which is wild

Did anyone get an OTA ? I'm still enrolled in the Android O beta program but got nothing so far.
So I'm on 8.0.0, do I just need to flash the dev preview via twrp or adb? I don't want to loose root and all my data.
Tell me in Dev. Prev. on nexus 5x is there pixel launcher, or is still the nexus?
Im using pixel rom, and i love the new pixel launcher

Hey guys,
I have a problem. I try to install the HDR on my A1. I use this video as a basis.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OozhQNhHqTQ&t=221s
The problem is that my device gets stuck every time TWRP starts and does not reboot by itself. As soon as I restart the phone, a message appears and I end up in the bootloop.
I had version 7.12 on it. Oreo 8.0 is currently installed.
What's the problem?
Would be nice if you could help me out.
Thanks

Is there anyone tested it? I really need substratum to customize my phone without rooting it. Coz i heard some people said substratum no longer work with non rooted device(in android Pie).
So.. Is there someone who can confirm that substratum works with android Pie that would be great.
P/s: im still on Oreo.
No. As i said before, it won't work in Pie. There are only S9, S9+, Note9 and Note 8 Snap version can use custom overlay without root.
