After I transferred over everything from my S8 and was logging into Facebook for the first time on the S10+, it locked up hard and nothing I could do would get to main screen. I left it alone for 2-3 minutes and it finally restarted itself. ??? Has been fine since then.

I wonder if that was because Facebook has a ton of cache and data in storage and the transfer didn't move all that.

I'm getting this randomly on my S10+. Only when I keep the phone in my pocket. not while using it. It's completely frustrating because I received this error and restarted like 10 times(had my wifi, bluetooth and location off) today. But after I turn all 3 on, the error disappeared and everything is normal again.
Not sure what is it has to do with wifi, bluetooth or location though.

Hello,
My S10 problem is excatly same as yours. Problem is continue. If somebody find solution please share here.
I had this problem today. Without any reason it enter in CP CRASH MODE...
Stop using Facebook.
As far as FaceBook is concerned, have this app installed from day 1, is being used in a moderate to heavy manner and have not faced any such issues whatsoever.
Maybe try a fresh install?
Same here. I get a crash once a day ever since i got this phone. March 3. And its only now, people are starting to experience it like me.
Its really frustrating. I think it has got to do with mobile 4g or something. It never crashes when i use wifi

Hi guys
For the last few days something remarkable has happened. My phone is losing battery like butter in sunshine. The drain is insane, we're talking 20% an hour AT LEAST!
Better Battery Stats told me it's a service called AlarmManager, and it's mostly Google+ that is draining the battery. Here's multiple screenshots i put together so you guys can see what'g going on:

I know something is wrong but I can't fix it. I tried everything. I tried rebooting (millions of times), flight mode on and off, deactivating Google+, activating Google+ and more.
I know the problem is in the auto sync. When I turn the auto sync off via a power toggle widget the battery drain seem to stop.
You guys are my last hope before factory resetting. Can you help me in any way or is a factory reset the only (possible) solution?
Thanks!

Thanks but I'm not rooted so I cant wipe. Though I tried just uninstalling Google+ and the AlarmManager service battery drain actually seem to be gone. I will re-install Google+ and see if the drain comes back.

You can go in recovery if you are not rooted. Power down the phone, press volume down + power to enter bootloader mode, go to recovery with the volume button, press power, you see the androidian lying down, then hot power and volume up and you are in 3rd recovery. Then wipe cache.

Turn off your phone, and then turn it on pressing and holding Volume Up, Home, and Power button at the same time until you see a warning. Then press Volume Up to continue, and navigate using volume keys and select wipe cache/factory reset with the Home button, then reboot.
Please note that by doing this all your data will be lost.
@SteeL900: Don't follow the advice you've been given to wipe your phone. That won't resolve the problem and will just annoy you. The solution to the problem is to just be patient, as it takes some time for the app to properly report the estimated time remaining.

Battery "learning usage pattern" Fix Galaxy s6
I have the same problem...when i bought Galaxy S6
but now i found a way of recovery...
Go to settings>>Backup & Reset>>Scroll down>>Factory reset
Please make sure that you make a Backup for the phone...
do that and your phone will refresh and solves the problem of "learning usage pattern"
I have the same problem with my i9500 and Smart Manager is stuck at learning mode. Thus no app is being optimized due to npt being learnt.
Using stock Rom. Rooted. Non original battery.
My phone is I9500XXUHOH6 btw.
I found out that problem happens with replacement battery and not with original Samsung battery.

let your phone totally drain and recharge it full and finally wait and have patience, just a couple of hours or a day maybe, hopefully it will work again.
by the way the method of resetting is not the cure of this problem. i am sorry if i confirmed that the method of resetting is working. since i tried it again after flashing and resetting many times it never help. just drain your battery and recharge it 100% and wait.

Yeah it actually happened on its own, the battery got fully drained and then i charged it after half n hour, the battery app was now showing estimates (Learning usage Pattern was gone!!). Then i realized following points :
1. It required the whole cycle to be completed i.e. full charged to full drain to understand the usage pattern
2. When I did the factory reset i had many apps on my phone which were all set with their cache and cookies which got wiped off and post reset i installed them all again and i guess they were setting up in background and making their libraries ready so it consumed more power on the first day.
However, today is the 4th day post reset and the battery competence is back again :good: so what i have learned is Patience is the key
I've got a major issue that started out of the blue yesterday..when I dial and make a call it takes a good two to three seconds to even register call is made, as a matter of fact it doesn't ring anymore, it goes straight to dialer screen and shows this swipe to unlock call options thing and I can't get it to stop. My phone just started doing this today. A reboot fixed it. There are other LG phones that have had the same problem.
I haven't flashed anything for 2 weeks or installed any apps that have anything to do with the phone.
The dialer lock screen seems to be for phones without a proximity sensor. Maybe this is some leftover code that gets triggered by some rare combo of things. Very annoying.
Edit: It may be that if the proximity sensor is experiencing an error, it defaults to the lock mode.
Happened to me on my v20 also. Started after my dad was trying to unlock my phone and kept using the incorrect swipe pattern. It is some type of safety mechanism when the phone thinks you are having problems with accidental screen turn on. At least that is my best guess.
The fix was to take the battery out and hold the power button down more or less hard reset the phone. I took the battery out without shutting the phone down. It worked for me. Good luck I hope it works for you too
Did anyone ever figure this out ? Why it happens or how to stop it ?
This just started on my lg g4 - i tried a reboot ...no dice - anyone know how to fix this?
This just happened to me as well, but a reboot worked for me. I recently rooted my phone within the past couple days. I was using the phone unrooted for couple weeks and it never once brought up that unlock screen. Maybe it's a side effect of rooting? I'm using an H910, but currently using WETA ROM which is based on US996.

I too am running a us996 version of Alpha rom on my dirty Santa unlocked H910a. This was never an issue, ever. Now just randomly it started like yesterday. No idea why and it's driving me bat**** crazy. Like, I'm getting MAD at the phone. Wife thought I was cursing at her this morning when the call went to my Bluetooth in the car and I was trying to turn Bluetooth off and speaker phone on, the damn screen was locked and during the "swipe to unlock" I hit the end call button. Needless to say she called me back all mad because I was cursing and yelling (at the phone, not her) n she thought I was *****ing at her. Lol. I need to resolve this issue it makes no sense why the screen would lock immediately after dialing a call even with the speakerphone on. Wtf?
Also joining in to report this issue. One in a long line of many that has me thinking of finally ditching this phone and going back to Samsung. Only thing keeping me is the audio.
Just happened to me on a non rooted phone. Weird. V20 too. Never unlocked the bootloader.
Just had it happen to me. I had this device since day 1. Wtf?
Edit, pulled my battery out, pressed power for 10 seconds, put battery back in, turned on phone, it's gone!
Wish I knew what caused it in the first place.
This is a most probably the software issue.
This is simply because your proximity sensor isn't working properly or even not working at all.
You can also check the status of your sensors by downloading any relevant sensor checking app from playstore. The solution to this problem is that simply restart the phone but in many cases the same problem will come again even after reboot so the Permanent fix to this Is that back up your data and just go with a clean installation it'll Surely fix your issue if your physical sensor is in working condition but if your have dropped your phone or somehow your sensor is damaged due to any reason it'll be needing a replacement.
Hope this will clear up all the issues
Thanks
Mine just started doing this
Just a thought, but how many are on software that was the last "ROOTABLE" update before you rooted, changed roms or did the last factory update?
Sent from my LG-H918 using XDA Labs
Just a head's up I think it maybe because people who have root and custom recovery have flashed stuff that uses Oreo bootloader but the phone itself only has nugart bootloader it maybe not saying it is.
Hello guys,
I have had this problem ever since I upgraded to Android 8.0. First, it was vibration - my phone vibrated for a full day and after a couple of restarts. Then this bug disappeared by itself. However, after less than a month, my screen started turning on for 10 seconds when it is on standby with the always on display turned on. Then it goes back to the AoD. If I have the edge lighting on, it displays a purple notification with no app icon in it and purple lighting. I thought it was some app associated with edge lighting. However, after experimenting turning off and on all of them, I gave up and turned the edge lighting off. However, the display still lights up at random points during the day and it is really annoying. I texted their support and they told me to factory reset my phone, which will basically return it to 7.0 and when I update, I might get the same issue. I am attaching the Software details of the phone. Any advice will be appreciated, as I do not wanna do a factory reset on my phone

No harm in trying a factory reset once, saves the agony in identifying other issues
try checking notification log tp identify app that triggers notification

Sounds like. Rogue app. Try a no root wakelock detector or such to see what could be doing it. Also you can try to boot safe mode for a day or so and see if it does it. Then it's limited to system or aftermarket app....
But a wakelock detector should localize it in a day or so as well
I believe I found the fix
When I stopped the notifications for Viber, the screen stopped doing it's "blink" thing. Will post an update after a couple of days to make sure it works properly and no other bugs occur.
Edit: After 1 day with notifications off for Viber app, the display didn't turn on by itself at all. I know there are people that might be worried that they are gonna miss some important notification from the messaging app. For them, I found another workaround - just turn off the "Light screen for messages" notification. That way you will not experience the issue and I really hope that the Viber team fixes the bug in the next update.
Hi everyone,
since yesterday I am having a major issue with my Honor 8 (FRD-L09, unbranded, stock OTA /Android 7.0, security patch level 5.8.2017/). After some time (it can be several minutes or hour) the phone becomes unresponsive. I am able to unlock the display but that is all. It is not possible to swipe left/right/notification bar. Software buttons are working, what helps (for at least some time) is when I hit left square button and clear memory. Even it clears only 20 MB, phone is running ok for some time again. Battery drain is enourmous - yesterday when these problems started for me I had 93% and in 4 hours without using phone at all it dropped to 40% ! When I check battery stats, it is drained by "Android system".
Yesterday I missed some phone calls because of that (I know people called me, but no missed call and no missed call sms from operator). The first sympthoms I noticed yesterday were (apart from slow response) that when I swiped some nofitication away, or I closed some app (that had notification icon), the notification icon(s) did not disappear from the bar, but applications were closed...
What is the most important information is that this behavior started for me yesterday morning OR Wednesday evening /not 100% sure here/. And also what is important is that my colleague has the same phone (bought from different seller, but again unbranded etc.) and he started to have the exact same issues on Tuesday (8.5.2018).
Any help from you would be much appreciated, I am assuming it was caused by some background update of whatever (Google? Huawei?)
Thanks.
skubko
Easier (and faster?) than looking for the needle in the haystack is to backup with HiSuit and then factory reset in the stock recovery.
Then instead of restoring apps, download them from Google Play and setup manually the ones you can. Check progressively for any behaviour (lag and drain). Install something to check SOC utilization per process, like a task manager.

Yeap, if this would be case just for myself, it would have been the first thing I would do. But if two different phone owners have the same issue, I do not think factory reset will do the trick. I will just loose everything, will need to setup everything manually, install manually and for nothing as I believe the same situation will appear afterwards... My first guess is Google Play Services. When I check it in Google Play store, from yesterday there are several one-star comments complaining about different misbehaviours, I am just surprised that here in Honor 8 forum I did not find any complaints yet...
I'm having the same issue for the last couple if days

My mother has this phone and is having the same exact issues for the last few days. Really bizzare stuff. She just called to let me know she has a full battery before going to bed last night and now it's drained to nothing and the time is somehow two hours behind so her alarm didn't go off. She almost missed getting up for work. A restart seems to return it to normal but not for long.
The same problem appeared by me, fw B404. From yesterday, the wifi goes down, sees no network. Today it appeared unresponsive only SW buttons worked but no apps. I tried the restart now it tooks 10 minutes.
Hello everyone,
I have the same problem for a few weeks on my FRD-L09.
After a few minutes or hours, my phone becomes very slow and the battery is empty very quickly. Wifi becomes hs too. I can just unlock the phone.
I made a factory reset and the problem is still present. Glad to see that I'm no longer the only one to have this problem!
Have anyone installed and pulled some logs from CPU Spy?
I am facing same issue on my L02 model from past 2 days, many apps slows down or not load properly like uber, facebook, walpy, google assistant and some other google apps. May be honor slows down the phone like apple, to increase their latest phone sales or its due to google tickling with their services..
hello all,
- do you have an SD card? if yes, have you tried removing it?
- emui comes with avast pre-installed, which updates and scans behind the scenes. maybe it's a bad virus definition update, try to disable it!
for me, I don't have sd card and avast is not installed.
I'm in stock rom and the problem seems to be present since the B403.

I was just toying around with my mother's phone and initallly it was fine but then froze in the same way people describe. Restarted and was fine but then apps started launching on their own until it eventually froze. It's like it's possessed. I've had Play Service issues specific to my Axon 7 in the past but nothing like this. How the hell does the system time change itself and lose two hours? That's bizzare. Someone in China having a little fun?
This just started out of the blue a few days ago. She noticed it Wednesday but it might have started Tuesday. She's 70 and often complains about her phone and it's just her. It's obviously the phone this time.

Avast scanner is preinstalled and included in Phone Manager, so you have it for sure, but it is well hidden. Go to Phone Manager -> Virus Scan and you will see their logo. You can disable periodic scanning from there.

- Is the problem persisting if you set the phone to Power saving? Or ultra power saving? (although in the latter case most of the functionality is disabled anyway)
- Have you tried to install BetterBatteryStats (with the extra permissions using adb commands) and check what is causing wakeups/alarms and partial wakelocks? Maybe that will help you identify the culprit.
I've got exactly the same problem, which also started a couple of days ago. The phone becomes unresponsive - I can unlock it but not much else, possibly remove notifications but the ones below don't move up when I do. A restart only helps briefly, and I have to do it by holding down the power button for 10 secs, otherwise, it gets stuck on the reboot animation.
edit: My phone is also an Honor 8.

It's ok for avast.
Problem is always present with the different modes of the power manager.
I'm currently at work, I will test BetterBatteryStats tomorrow night.
Thank you for your help
Downgrade to March
Downgrade to March Upgrade B403 seems to solve the problem.
Got an update for L09 B395. my phone becomes unresponsive everytime my phone get sleep while wifi is open. the problem is due to wifi setting "Keep wifi ON during sleep" is set to NEVER. when i changed the wifi setting to "Always" my phone run smoothly again.

I will try changing the wifi settings and if the problem persists, I will try downgrade to B403.
I'll keep you informed.

Downgrade was not successful... after some hour the same sh*t.
Indeed, the problem has something to do with WiFi.

After mofidifying wifi setting on "never", battery drain seems to be normal.
