As someone mentioned in other thread - there might be an issue because there is only one common data partition, so if one systems data won't be compatible with other you might bootloop or worst ?

True, but...remembering multirom(stores multiple ROMs on internal storage/sdcard/internal data) we can get it to work. Its something I'm looking into

That's two versions of Havoc, put OOS on one of those slots and let us know how that works out for you... (Don't actually, It will cause problems). Two similar OS's maybe OK. OOS does the same thing when you update, it's only updating one slot at a time.

By a fluke when switching to LOS, I got a lot of errors from apps that was left over from OOS. I'm not sure if it will work with both.

Yeah ... that's only because you'v got havoc on both slots. Most of the time - e.g. with 2 different ROMs - this will not work.
Reason is that there is only a single /data partition.
Nice try :victory:

Let me correct this post.... I do have a Oneplus 6T that appears to be dual booted. I did not do this.? I would like to get some verification on this if possible.
Some of the phones behaviors that clued me in something was wrong:
The setup process that one goes through with on a new phone... I would get notifications that the setup needs to be completed.
The settings that I always change when I get a new phone or reset to factory would be back to default. The hepatic feedback would be activated. The size of the keyboard would be reset, etc...
From what I can discern, the phone is not rooted.
I would appreciate any information that I can get on this matter, It is a bit unsettling.
I have shared some photos of various screens from my phone. Two photos are from my phone itself.
The remainder are of an app I DLed from the play store. This app shows that my system Builder is : [email protected]
There are a majority of system applications that are listed twice in this application as well. All of this is in the photos below.
I just realized I cannot post links to photos.... If anyone would like to see them I can provide a share from my Google Drive.
TIA,

had oxygen beta on one and omnirom on the other the other day....i didn't do it on purpose but was rushing a flash job (dirty) and then while in one i rebooted and the other rom booted up..I was like WTF. Had no launcher and couldn't do much. i didn't stay in it long enough to try a bunch but i did switch back and forth more than once just to make sure it want a glitch or something. and it switched . Status bar worked and i could change wallpaper...that about it ..at least of the tiny bit i played around with.

[Q] Nexus 7 2012 very slow

My Nexus 7 2012 (Grouper) is really show, sometimes unusable and I have to Power off and on again.
I had Stock 4.4 installed when I first noticed the problem, them Android 5 came up and I downloaded from google, cleaned all partitions with TWRP and installed Android L with ADB. But unfortunately it got even worse. then I cleaned all partitions again, /data, /system, /cache, I marked all options on TWRP and installed Android 5 again but it was still slow (sometimes it seems in normal speed, but more often is slow).
So I installed Cyanogem mod, currently version is 11-20141206-NIGHTLY-grouper
It is faster with CM, but I still get speed problems sometimes like switching between apps, unlocking the tablet, etc...
I really want to stay in Stock Android 5, but it is too slow, sometimes impossible to use.
Can someone give me any suggestions on what to do ?
I don't care if I have to reset, reinstall, clear, etc
If you want any more informations I can give.

Have you tried to format it to F2FS? That's a file system optimised for flash storage which usually helps a lot with speed issues.
Short how-to (there are longer versions around, search for them if necessary):
You need the latest TWRP (2.8.2.0, I think) and a F2FS-compatible rom (and maybe a kernel), look for the latter in the forums. I use this version of a 5.0-Rom which has been modified for F2FS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56813573&postcount=491 (it includes a f2fs-compatible kernel)
Then make a backup of ALL your data (including /sdcard) to an external device (PC, usb storage, or whatever), otherwise you'll lose it. Save the rom on this external device, too.
In TWRP go to advanced wipe, there you can select the partitions system, data and cache one after the other to format & repair them. Or see this post for a longer explanation.
Afterwards you can copy your stuff back from the backup and flash the rom & gapps as always.

I am going to give it a try. actually I have tried it already but couldn't do many testing yet.
Which ROM you think is best for f2fs support and is Android 5 ?
I wanted to do my own, get the original rom, install in f2fs and change the kernel to a compatible one, but I couldn't figure out how to install the original image without it formatting back to ext4. I guess it might not be as easy as just this right ?
I would like to modify it by myself because I wanted a rom with f2fs with as few modifications as possible.
I don't like roms that have everythng stipped out
have tried ubuntu touch too, but it is frequently freezing the tablet, the screen gets flickering. I think Ubuntu touch does not support grouper.

I don't know. As I'm quite busy at the moment and the one I use (see link in m previous post) is running fine, I stick with it. But these two look promising, too: Rastapop, SlimLP

You need to do a bit more than changing the kernel. I've never done it, better ask someone else, maybe the guy who converted BSZAosp and Rastapop (links here and in my previous post). He wrote about it in those threads.

Yes, at least not officially.
Mine started to have problems on kitkat. It would freeze, I could not turn it on when in standby and it would take forever to switch between users (have 3 users). I updated it to Lollipop (OTA sideload) and it became even worst. I tried factory reset and it didn't help. Next morning it would not start - there just was Android on screen and it would stay like that forever. I tried to unlock bootloader to sideload factory image but it didn't work. Luckily, I had warranty (it's 2 years here) so I took it to shop. They changed motherboard and it came with 4.2 installed from shop. OTA came to 4.4.4 and I sideloaded 5.0 again. It still was slow, especially when I added two more users. So I disabled system apps I don't use (on all user accounts), turned off location and forced gpu rendering in developer options and now it works great...

Heads Up: CM 13.0 *Official* has arrived for GT-N7105. Your impressions?

Cyanogenmod 13.0 has arrived for the International LTE Note II GT-N7105 (t0lte).
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/160710/cm-13.0-20160506-NIGHTLY-t0lte.zip
I'm upgrading from the latest 12.1 Nightly this evening and will post again to confirm ecstasy/misery/doubts/wailing/gnashing_of_teeth/gratitude/relief depending on events.
If you are also trying CM 13.0 Marshmallow on your 2012 Quad Core CPU, 2GB RAM Red-In-Tooth-And-Claw-Beast...what are your impressions?
First impressions:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhhhh!
Luckily I am a backup freak.
Long story short: Google has invented new ways to punish/torment people who take advantage of their device's microSD slot. It's not your microSD card any more. It now belongs to Google. They love your data. They love their data. They hate you controlling any of it.
I used TWRP to restore the last 12.1 Nightly. I am still interested in using this device into the forseeable future so I guess I will revisit Marshmallow/CM 13 but, so far as I can tell, the big changes between 12 and 13 are for the benefit of Google, not for you or me. YMMV.

No. It nagged me to format it in either of 2 ways. It also informed me that my genuine Class 10 Sandisk 128GB card might be too slow. I thought "why not just use it as is?" and rebooted. Nagging started again. I conceded defeat and backed up my card and then allowed the device to format the card as it preferred. I rebooted. After rebooting with the freshly formatted card.....my device nagged me about formatting it before I could use it, and btw it's too slow!!

I booted into TWRP and restored CM 12.1.
I will probably have another look at CM 13 in a few weeks.

It was formatted to FAT32,
I didn't check which file system it was formatted to afterwards but I tried both choices in turn i.e. tried allowing the device to set it as portable and then tried allowing the device to set it as internal. I was annoyed that after each case the device continued to prompt me to go through the select>format routine yet again.
I'll try it again when I have more patience. Next time I will start by using the SD association's formatter to format the microSD card back to exFAT, so it will be exactly as it was when new.

No it does not. Screen off properly checks proximity sensor and a merged my own commit to fix in call audio months ago. Incall fix was merged to 12.1 a week later

Used last version of TWRP, and all went ok!
I was coming directly from stock TW 4.4.2! The Note 2 was speedy as hell!!
The only problems i got was after install Gapps. I was always receiving error that the keyboard and the assistant were crashing. I solved it loading TWRP, making a wipe and installing again the same CM 13.0 after that all ok!
Any idea how to solve that gapps problem?

Use OpenGapps, and don't wipe anything after ROM flash, wipe gapps right after ROM. Give permissions to everything after the ROM boots.

I don't think you can do that now. I'm using Aroma too and I do not have any problems. But I have N7100 and Unofficial build.
Who is the maintainer of the official CM of this device?
"The following people are maintainers for this device: codeworkx, madmack"
So the correct way to install OpenGapps is:
1 - wipe
2 - flash cm, reboot
3 - flash gapps
???
I started over. As previously stated I backed up my Sandisk Class 10 microSD card to PC and then formatted it to exFAT. I also backed up my device's internal data to PC. Then I totally wiped my Note 2, retaining only TWRP 3.0.2-0 recovery. I used adb to push cm 13 and opengapps pico to /sdcard and installed. This time my microSD card was dealt with properly; it wasn't identified as being slow, and it works fine as portable storage.
Everything works as intended but the new app and card permissions do feel like some kind of tedious punishment by Google. It adds an awful lot of time, tapping, toggling and swiping to any app startup or restore process (I use 3c Toolbox Pro) such that setting up my device + apps as though new took *hours* longer than when I installed CM Lollipop. And on top of that there is the time required to back up and restore really large amounts of data from/to internal storage and especially from/to the microSD...my card is 128GB and I see that 200GB cards are available. Can you imagine moving 200GB of data back and forth and then deciding "nah..I liked the old version better"....
I do appreciate Google getting more serious about enforcing SE Linux, using ASLR, preventing apps getting overly privileged etc. but it's getting to the stage where there are enough unexpected behaviours and unfamiliar/opaque terminology that installing and setting up CM 13 might actually be getting more complex with each major version release, instead of less.
Anyway, enough moaning. I now have my 2012 Note II LTE running an up to date, fully patched and supported OS and it's still a really impressive device.
Lost root access in the rom update. Any clue on that?

After flashing CM13, do not reboot, flash gapps, then reboot, problem must be solved. The error is caused by permissions , giving gapps the permissions can solve this problem, too.

If using TWRP to install CM then also add the gapps zip to the install queue and let TWRP take care of it. This always works fine for me.

1. I've had this phone for more than 2 months now and I've been modding my phone ever since, no problems whatsoever.
2. I didn't try removing Google stuff from the phone but some people have done it. Search around for that as i don't know exactly.
3. Lineage and most other roms are perfectly fine. I personally Recommend AEX but Lineage is also very good.
4. I personally think the phone will still be supported even after official support is over since there's pretty much a new rom every other week so I don't think you need to worry about support for the next 2-3 years

You need to flash it immediately after you flash a rom because once you flash any rom, twrp will be overwritten by stock recovery so you have to flash twrp installer

Phone goes to bootloader after installing a ROM

Hello,
I had some difficulties installing the Pixel Experience ROM. I successfully installed it two days ago, but I had installed an old version. I then got the newest version from the Pixel Experience website and installed it just like the time before in TWRP. After wiping and installing it I started having these issues.
When I tried to turn on my phone after installing the latest ROM, it said no os installed, and it went to the bootloader. I tried the whole installing progress many times and even went to OxygenOS in the middle of the tries.
I even watched the tutorials and all again, and did it exactly the same way as the first time when it worked.
I do not have any idea what is the problem, but if you have any suggestions they would be very much appreciated
thank you

This guide is for Lineage but should work for most AOSP ROMs. On Pixel Experience you would obviously skip Gapps since they are included.

I used this guide which worked that first time, but it has a bit different way of wiping data than yours.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/pixel-experience-rom-oneplus-6t/
Your guide said OOS has to be installed on both slots which I think I did not do. That might also explain why it worked on the first time (OOS was already on both slots?)
Do you think that could be the reason?

That guide wipes a lot things (system, vendor, etc). Thats going to cause you problems. You only need OOS on both slots for the initial install. For updates no reason to wipe or flash to both slots. Notice my section on updating is very different. (Cliff notes version is in the second post.)

Help needed! Rooted device can't install apps from play store nor even update!!! Me is desperatly looking for instant help

Ok one by one... I have a Mi 9T rooted, but not really a custom rom, Just a very special version from Xiaomi.eu, to make it perfectly clear I am running Android 10 MIUI12.3 version 20.12.9/10 according to xiaomi.eu website. As recovery Im running Sky Hawk Recovery Project 3.0. It's rooted with magisk canary latest version and I also needed edxposed to be installed. Sorry for being so unclear I sincerely apologize for that. Of course i formatted data to get this setup running. I thought I'd know my stuff its a bit embarrasing for me to ask for help, but im very frustrated. Excuse me. The system was as far as I know runnning fine, sure i experience some lag here and there but the playstore thingy is getting over my head. Also the playstore no longer autoupdates my apps, i must manually start the update process. Does anyone has any idea what i can do in this case? Wiping cache and dalvik maybe. I would be super gratefull for any kind of advice!!!!!!! Have a nice day and i will update the OP Post as soon as something relevant happens......
Kind regards from Germany,
Florian
Edit 1: I managed to install one or two apps now, but they were rather small and it took forever to get the job done. Downloading as well as installing. Any help would be highly apprciated!
Edit 2: Added a detailed description of my setup and specifcations, just the title was too less info....
Use another device with Playstore to download them then use ApkExport to make an installable copy. Simple transfer that to the victim phone and load.

First of all thank you for your reply it means a lot to me.
I prefer using playstore because its plug and play and i get my updates automatically. The situation has somewhat deescalted now, it took a while and I mean a while I have my new launcher now and all apps are updated and installed. But still, my mi 9t is very unresponsive if not to say laggy, even in standard ui things. Any hellp????

Nor familiar with that device.
Try clearing the system cache for starters.
You really don't want Playstore autodating.
It will kill apps and cause of kinds of problems especially when it jams a bunch of updates down your throat.
Keeping a copy of all your apps and system updates speeds reloads and means you always have a known good copy.
I don't use Playstore after I do a factory reset as I already have the apps I need. Takes 20 minutes instead 2+ hours of goofing around on Playstore.

Nor familiar with that device.
Try clearing the system cache for starters.
You really don't want Playstore autodating.

Thank you, but what do you mean by cleaning the cache? Like in TWRP? I prefer SHRP but i know under the hood its just twrp doing itÄs magic. What do I need to clean exactly? Even dalvik? Thank you thousand times!!!
PS: Please excuse my noobishness...........

I'm not rooted... it's not always desirable and is a gravity well for time.
On the boot menu there should be an option to clear the system cache.
Uncleared data there can cause erratic operation.

Kind regards,

Update: I managed to install one or two apps now, but they were rather small and it took forever to get the job done. Downloading as well as installing. Any help would be highly apprciated!

The title absolutely does not say anything useful that somebody can help you. Supposidely, you have Mi 9T (since posting here).
But which ROM, rooted how (preinstalled in custom ROM, or you installed and how, which Magisk or what, etc).
What does it mean 'no standard bootloader'?!
If xustom ROM, do you have GApps or some open source replacement?
Me and ton of others have 'rooted' Mi 9T with Playstore working with no issues
Sorry but seeing your post (new member, no info whatsoever, the unusual problem itself), you must have done something terribly wrong
If you installed custom ROM, did you (it's a MUST) FORMAT Data (not just Wipe - it's different thing in TWRP, and I'm not talking about wiping System etc) - one of the typical newbie mistakes?

Ok one by one... First of all thank you for your quick reply! I indeed have a Mi 9T, but not really a custom rom, Just a very spceial version from Xiaomi.eu, to make it perfectly clear I am running Android 10 MIUI12.3 version 20.12.9/10 according to xiaomi.eu website. As recovery Im running Sky Hawk Recovery Project 3.0 and the thing about no standard bootloader may be a misconception on my part. It's rooted with magisk canary latest version and I also needed edxposed to be installed. Sorry for being so unclear I sincerely apologize for that. Of course i formated data to get this setup running. I thought I'Äd know my stuff its a bit embarrasing for me to ask for help, but im very freustrated. Excuse me. The system was as far as I know runnning fine, sure i experience some lag here and there but the playstore thingy is getting over my head. also the playstore no longer autoupdates my apps, i must manually start the update process. Do you have any idea what i can do in this case? Wiping cache and dalvik maybe. I would be super gratefull for any kind of advice!!!!!!! Have a nice day and i will update the OP Post as soon as I can!!!!!!!!!! Promise!

Ok, I'm on Xiaomi.eu, too, but weekly (hence the latest 21.4.28, Android 11 beta, MIUI 12.6 - believe me, it's good).
With Magisk Canary, too, and I previously used SHRP but returned to TWRP (but that doesn't matter)
Xposed (not using) may cause you issues with SafetyNet and therefore with Playstore - you may try uninstalling
But yes, if you did Format Data (really Format, not Wipe), then first go again to TWRP/SHRP and Wipe Cache and Dalwik. Rebooting will take a time, be patient
If it won't help, uninstall Xposed and leave the clean Magisk
Also, I remember that there was a problem with Playstore not working - I think in some CN firmware and therefore also in some Xiaomi.eu version, but I don't remember details, hence don't know could it apply to you
Actually, reading your answer again, is your Xiaomi.eu 20.12.20 also their old Weekly (but four months old) or the so-called Stable?
And is it really Android 10 (but with MIUI 12.3)?
I don't recall now but I think that I switched from a Stable Xiaomi.eu (but from 20.11) to Weekly 20.12 at around that time, and that it was MIUI 12.3 but also already Android 11 (and I didn't have any problem with Playstore - actually never with my stock EEA MIUI 10-12, Stable Xiaomi.eu MIUI 12, Weeklies Xiaomi.eu MIUI 12.3-MIUI 12.6 - and I'm also always on the latest Magisk Canaries)

In Google Play, go to YT app, top-right, three-dots menu, Disable Auto-update (only for YT, not for all apps).
There is a Magisk module to detach apps from Google Play (did not use) and also an app (find info in XDA Vanced thread) to detach (did use, but found that just disabling auto-update for YT is enough for me)
Few years ago used Xposed last time, but yes, uninstall modules, reboot, uninstall Xposed, reboot
