You can start by giving which device s8 or plus and if is a us snapdragon or international exynos device. Kinda hard to help if we don't have any information ?

I know on the snaps as long as it's the same bootloader revision 5th digit from the end we can flash Oreo back on ours. Stock firmware and odin
So as long as Oreo and pie say are both revision 5 then it's that easy

Don't try on SM-G930W8, a bit of difference even though GSM devices. I guess T-Mobile's FW are flashable on W8 but no guarantee.

We're talking G930F only here. It's not available for the G930FD yet. Confirm if G930F FW can be flashed on FD too, and then try flashing.

I wanted to ask something maybe foolish but I read on another kind of duplicate thread that there is UK version for 930f and an CH version if I'm right... I suppose this is the UK one no ? and if I want to revert to the previous fw I just have to flash to old fw and thats it or I can't revert from Nougat as it was on some old android version ?
Thank you in advance.

I have the unlocked U1 version and am trying to use this site to flash new beta Oreo. I don't see my variant listed. I only see the U and not U1. Is that the same file I should flash?

Thanks. I'm sure someone though is in the same position as me and hopefully had an answer
It's only for carrier S8's. They have no firmware for unlocked models.
You can flash QK5 through Odin and do it that way if you're on a US carrier and want bloat though.

I just updated my phone from that site and it works perfectly thru stocked recovery. They are all OTA updates so it will not wipe your phone. Only thing is when flashing from nougat to oreo change your themes back to pure stock or you will get system ui error, and have to factory reset

There is no root currently for Oreo. On s8s if you haven't taken the revision 3 bootloader you can downgrade and root nougat.
Also the 80% charge is the engineering kernel used for root. It is preset from Samsung to not charge over 80% this has been mentioned a million times over
so no root available yet for android oreo . what about the mobile data icon bcz it is missed from CP?

I have an Sprint Samsung S8. I want to update to Android Pie 9. Its currently on Android 8.0.0 - R16NW.G950USQU5CSA4. And I want to flash with Odin to any compatible Android Pie FW. I am personally not looking to unlock or anything. The confusing part is that when I research the FW version (G950USQU5CSA4) it comes as a Verizon FW. So I am not sure if is safe to flash any of the Pie FW available on sammobile for Sprint.
It is safe to flash for example to one like G950USQU5DSD3 that appears in Sammobile and is for Sprint?

For any newbie like me who ever had a look at this thread. This definitely work as said by @kpwnApps, I downloaded SM-G950U, build G950USQU5DSD3 (3.92GB) from Sammobile and flashed with Odin. Flashed AP, BL, CP, CSC (not CSC_HOME) on its respective place on Odin. 5m 32s later it was updated with no trouble.

Last question, I am personally not interested. Just curious. As long as is the same android version, would it be possible to downgrade too by flashing with Odin and earlier version? or would something like that cause a brick?

You cannot downgrade ther binary. If this method is not fit your version then no. I think 3 or 4 is the latest on active model

Combo files for s8s are a nougat bootloader but whatever revision. All combos 1 through what ever are the same just increments higher. So tech yes your downgrading your bootloader to a nougat but still in your case 5. You cant go back to a 4 or 3
