Hi
If is factory unlocked or with IMEI code once is unlocked it stays unlocked....

How to check if bootloader is unlocked/how to unlock bootloader?

My S7 edge is the exynos version (SM-G935F) and I recently rooted it so now I want to install a custom recovery.
I'm not sure if the bootloader came unlocked so is there anyway I can check this?
If infact it isn't unlocked can someone guide me on how to unlock the bootloader?
(This is my first time venturing into the realms of rooting)

International version of the s8 is G950F right?

If I have the G950F model of the s8 means that I can root it and use twrp for my recovery right? I'm just wanting to make sure because I just purchased this device unlocked. Thanks In advance!!!

You have a snapdragon version that has a locked bootloader, there is no current standalone root method, if you have the latest bootloader installed then the mentioned methods you've used won't work as they haven't patched it yet. Blame the network providers for all this.

5th digit back from end is bootloader revision there is now a method of rooting nougat only. No oreo or pie. Fortuanatly the method installs safestrap where you can flash a nougat system img. Su and busybox. On top of a revision 5 combination nougat bootloader. Look up s8 safestrap edl
As a side note more than likely you will convert your model to a U model instead of a w

S8 help

Hi all, I'm very new to the whole community and I just had some questions regarding the S8. I heard you can install custom roms and such but I have no clue how to start. I bought an unlocked s8 from best buy and is currently activated on Verizon. The model is G950U1 on OneUI. Any direction or link would be appreciated. I'm getting tired of OneUI. Thanks.

So theres no possible way to unlock the boot loader? I saw that in some models there is an OEM unlock option under developer options but I cant find it on mine.
