***UPDATE*** if anyone is having this issue like me, just use the official twrp. On the original " how to root " post it says to use the blue spark twrp. Just use the official. Thanks to the guys below ?
Okay so i have a tmobile 6T, and i did the trick using the Tool to switch to the international variant, unlocking the boot loader, rooting etc. Okay that all went fine. But i can't install any custom roms? Ive tried a few , and twrp just throws back a error telling me it was unable to flash? ( No error code or anything, just unable to flash) I have tried all day , i have tried using twrp, and adb. ... NOW THE WEIRD PART, none of the 6T roms will flash, but i tried the pixel expedience for the op 6 and it installed fine?? but wouldnt let me download apps, or use the camera. Im so lost. someone help please

Flash latest official or from TWRP thread. Blu_spark doesn't work for 6T.

Is it the same as this one
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78845063&postcount=203
Yeah if you just got the phone, it will have the latest update. 9.0.12. Word to the wise always flash the official TWRP first unless there isn't one. And check the thread to see if it updated and working for any unofficial recovery. The latest Blu_Spark TWRP recovery isn't the latest version. He will update it went he gets a chance.

I use a recovery I made from source before Christmas so not sure why it has to be updated to work with newer versions of oos. He's obviously flashing the blu_spark for op6 not op6t is my point. So was throwing that link out there to make sure he had the right one.

That's fine if you know what you are doing. If not stick with the official stuff first, then maybe try the modded stuff. Blu_Spark TWRP is both OP6 and 6T. He actually just finished the updated 3.2.3-2 TWRP today. You know why you should update to the latest TWRP, it fixes bugs and adds new features.

Had the same problem, could not install any oppo ota or full roms with TWRP.
In the end i installed CM rom, then installed oppo full, I could then install OTA without problem, but you loose all your data
Left TWRP off for now

I don't know why you're having problems my friend. I have installed everything via twrp on my Oppo. As soon as faux123 he wouldn't be doing a CM kernel for now, I downloaded the beta firmware and flashed it in TWRP. No problems here. Maybe another bad download? I did get a fail when I downloaded it to my computer and then transferred it to my phone, but when I downloaded it straight to my phone, I had zero problems.
BTW, what part of Ohio are you in?

I got it working same problem here, it was a bad transfer to phone from PC because MD5 matched the rom, that's what had me so confused, I transfered it over again and its working. I read your other message over at Oppo forums and I don't think I can stay stock too much longer either. I really hope that faux, or maybe someone else will develop a kernel for custom 4.2.2 roms...........
I'm in Sidney
Whoa Sidney! That's pretty close. Small world. I'm sure we're the only ones on the Dayton area with an oppo lol

I tried rooting my phone and decided to downgrade my os from 7.0.1 to 6.0.1 I downloaded and flashed a modded version of 6.0.1 and now my device is not rooted and i can't update my phone to nougat. It keeps showing the not recognizing package error what do i do?
I haven't modded mine so just guessing but if you have twrp I expect it won't update.
Most phones need stock recovery to take an update. Not modding mine for this reason. I think Android 8 will come for A7.

Haven't looked into modding the Axon 7, mine stays standard. Have a look around the forum here, do a search. Maybe someone who knows will join in to help you.

Yes there are many. You can:
-use a backup of the recovery, via axon7tool ('axon7tool -r recovery' backs up your recovery)
-flash a full stock system image through MiFlash
-flash a stock recovery zip through twrp, then reboot (there are recovery zips for the G on the download center, although there may be zips made for the U and Chinese)
I tried to restored a nandroid backup which didnt work, I then tried to lock and unlock bootloader thinking recovery would reset original image and that didnt work and now its wiped. Any suggestions as I'm looping into bootloader screen and I cant even push an image using adb.

You stated it kept going back into fastboot, sorry if I misunderstood. Your PC should see the phone while in TRWP, try another port on your PC or another cable.

Yes, my phone is wiped and no OS on it either. Thats probably why its going back to fastboot. Is my only choice to unbrick? Which as I'm seeing would require me to go to hydrogen os before even being able to go to oxygen os?

Even with it wiped, if you have TWRP installed and no OS you should still boot back into recovery, not fastboot. I would still try installing TWRP again, use the codeworkx version, seems to work best for most people.

You mean I can copy OS 5.0.1 and flash directly to it after I copy it over?
Nevermind it worked, thanks. My whole issue was I didnt know the whole time that my pc would see the device as a directory while in twrp. Now I wonder why originally I booted into a black screen bricked when I flashed magisk 14 earlier.

It's a known issue. You have to use Magisk 15.2 or higher.
If you flash an older version you will get a black screen with a blue notification led.

I actually want to stay close to stock. I dont even want to use nova launcher, I"m staying with OP launcher. So far so good, Not sure upgrade was worth the trouble yet
I'm just trying to understand what I did here. This is the first phone that's given me this much trouble.
Was running 7.1.1 stock. Finally got annoyed by that auto volume thing from sony that I had time to flash AOSP. I followed
https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/development/nougat-7-1-1-android-source-project-t3555510
I used xperifirm/flashtool to update to newest UK firmware ( US has no fingerprint ) . I did NOT backup my drm keys. I have them from before when I rooted. Besides I didn't need them really. I use opencamera.
Followed that guide exactly. Everything worked. Then I flashed twrp 3.1.1 from adb. I think this is where I went wrong. I wanted to flash supersu and viper4android. As soon as I tried this I got twrp errors about mounting /data. Missing crypto footers. I also noticed that supersu binary always said it needed updating, and viper4android would not install drivers.
Did some googling. Saw I just had to format /data from twrp. TWRP was unable to format data with the same errors. More google, saw I had to recreate the /data from terminal from this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/help/format-data-using-twrp-3-0-2-t3371137 .
Did that. Same errors in twrp. Ok had enough. Restored my twrp backup from 7.1.1 where everything worked. That went through and just hosed everything, due to not being able to read /data. After this finished I was stuck in a boot loop.
Got into fastboot and reran the original AOSP guide above. Now I'm there. Everything left exactly as it was. No twrp etc.
My question is what the heck did I break and how? And as a secondary question can I root this, if so how? The recovery that is flashed with that guide cannot mount /sdcard so I don't see a way to flash supersu for example.
Just trying to understand before I really break something.

I've never really used magisk. Flashable zip? I'd need a working twrp since the recovery included with that rom can't mount /sdcard.
I think I just happened to grab 3.1.1, I must have missed the 3.2.1 version. At this point I'm not flashing anything until I know it works. I don't remember seeing it in nougat, but I see that under 8.1 the phone status shows as encrypted.
I'm a little leery of flashing anything currently since I currently have no root so I cant use titanium to backup. I also don't want to end up with a non working recovery again. I posted to that aosp thread seeing if anyone rooted it.
At this point I'd almost like to get a working twrp just to go back tro 7.1 where everything worked.

Find twrp in rom forum here, and search xda for Magisk. Flash twrp, wipe everything, then flash rom, then flash Magisk. See if all better... Also, you can flash V4A modules, (and many others), through Magisk.

I'll give it a whirl. One question though, since I've never run into this. What do you mean because it doesn't do anything? Granted this is the only aosp I've played with so far, so my knowledge is a bit limited.

Stock recovery is usually limited to stock functions. If you want to customize, you need custom recovery.

Ohhh. right. I thought you meant recovery didn't do anything with aosp. Read that wrong, brain fart.
So nope. Twrp cannot read /data. Same error as before. Magisk seems to have installed.
My guess is this is all coming from the forced encryption, though I haven't done enough research.. I'm going to see if I can get viper running..

Yeah, I guess still no custom kernels for O yet, so... Did you already try decrypt data with twrp?
Nope. I got what I wanted at this point. I'm leaving well enough alone. I don't see having to really do anything with TWRP in the near future. I'll miss being able to do a full backup, and I'm a little annoyed I cant restore my 7.1 backup but I can live with that. I see I can decrypt but I'm a little gun shy and don't want to break anything again.
At the end of the day AOSP + viper is really all I needed.
Thanks again for all the help.
Hello guys. I managed to most of the latest verison of TWRP for one plus two
But I cant get it to work. It always stuck when the +1 logo appears and I cant do anything from there. Only stock recovery works. Is there something Im doing wrong?
