It's actually PLS LCD which is Samsung's competitor to IPS
the display is good at first, but I have noticed LCD burn in after prolonged use of an app say Facebook. this is worsened if I apply blue-light filter & leave it On all the time

Even if it's true. Not a dealbreaker. It can be bright af outside on a clear sky summer day and you can still see everything clear and sharp on this display. Plus I personally don't mind the color warmth being set a bit "colder" per general.
That article just needed something to bash this exceptional phone with.

I think the screen is excellent much whiter than my yellowy HTC 10 and absolutely slaughters it on brightness.

coming from nexus 5X i find the display to be top notch
sure not an AMOLED but with all that fuzz with pixel 2s blue tint i guess those pps hadto write something for nokia aswell....

The 3120X1440 display shows almost 4K like clarity. Could be the 2nd best display after Super AMOLED. Also very easy/pleasant to the eye, that made me prefer G7's gorgeous display over Galaxy S9's display.

I wonder if the screen on the iPhone XR is related to the LG G7? Seems like similar technology, but dumbed down on the iPhone.

Lots of available adjustments if too cold/blue for your tastes.
Go to Settings/Display/Comfort View to remove any excess blue light. Also, under Settings/Display/Screen Color/Color Temperature you can make the appearance cooler or warmer.

Probably between 5 and 10ms considering that it's an IPS panel.
No way! Maybe a good IPS monitor could have those response time. In the mean time I tested PocoF1 display and it has 15-20 ms.

A good IPS will have less than 5ms. What did you use to test it?
That having 5 ms response time is a "BEST" IPS, not only good. And expensive like hell.
Google for "response time tests".

I have myopia with astigmatism for all my life. I don`t feel comfortable using small screens, like at all. My home pc monitor is 32"...
And this is the first time I have feel so comfortable using device with small screen to the level of using it for hours and hours without my eyes burning and hurting.
I actually started actively to limit how much time I spend using the phone because aside from being good screen is still small screen and could do bad to my eyes in the long run.
But man, the screen is really sharp. And the amoled black is really something else.
I like it very much!

Saturation is typical LCD. Even with saturation selected. My previous phone was LG V20. With a custom kernel and kcal, I could make it look almost as good as a Samsung. I picked a wallpaper and icons that don't highlight that

I have to say I really like the screen saver. Didn't work on my last phone.
It doesn't work when the phone is not charging. I have an upright dock I bought for my LG V20. This phone plugs right into it. One thing I have never liked is if the screen is off, and you plug the phone in to charge, the screen turns on. My V20 custom ROM prevents that.
The only way to get the screen saver on for this phone is for the screen to be on and charging.
So, I put the phone in the dock, the screen comes on and one minute later the screen saver comes on with big digital numbers showing the time. I have it on my desk and if I want to know what time it is, well, there it is, easy to read looking right at me. So it's kinda like having an always on display. I just wish it would do it when not charging.
