Had difficulty getting connected to AT&T's 4G and LTE with an unlocked Korean model. Tried many different APN settings.
The solution I found was to go to an AT&T store and pull the IMEI number from an AT&T Branded LG V40, add 1 to the last number in the string, and then have an AT&T agent update my account, attaching THAT IMEI number to my sim. Viola. Took about five minutes for it to work, but it has been connected string ever since, and AT&T visual voicemail works fine.
(The reason you have to add one to the IMEI is because AT&T registers their display phones as being "unsellable" and won't let the agent input it. But IMEI numbers are assigned in blocks, so the next number in the sequence will be recognized by the network as an AT&T Branded V40. You also wont run into any problems if that IMEI number that you come up with is on another phone in the field, it went effect your connectivity, aside from the very small chance that there particular number you end up with just happens to be another display phone in another store, or a device blacklisted for non-payment or theft. In that case, you can just add one more to the number and try again. AT&T's servers in particular have trouble recognizing non-AT&T devices as being 4G LTE devices, so you have to spoof the network into thinking that your device is a similar device. Really, any LTE capable device should work, but I figure that using the most similar device that AT&T offers, like the V40 or a G8 should work best.)

Always high ping on online games but my other phone works well on same simcard
Mobile data is crap i swear
Works perfect just like my s9plus
Something is gravely wrong with this phone. I have the Latin American variant here in the US using T-Mobile SIM card and the variant has all the T-Mo bands, but 4G LTE data is crawling slow, very slow. I have several phones at various times, and this is the slowest I have seen. Even the cheaper Galaxy J4+ is a lot normally faster than this Galaxy A50.
this phone mobile signal is horrible, I don't have any signal issue with redmi note 5. This phone is pretty disappoint me
It's roughly the same as other phones I own (S2, S4, S8, Lg v10..)
Horrible Mobile signal using on AT&T in the USA! Especially on LTE. One has to be right by the cell tower to get Full signal. Don't know...may be the radios are not optimized for the networks here. But the phone has all the LTE bands used here. Where my other phones show full signal, this phone barely shows any. Now,when close to the tower and full signal is shown, it has excellent LTE speeds. Using LTE discovery app, I have observed my device connect to LTE bands 2,4,5 and 17 on AT&T.
If there is a Samsung representative who reads this forum, I want to say something, your A50 is sucks
Quite good Cellular strength here. i use 2 sim ( 2 operators ) , and both works fine
Worse than my old iPhone 7 here in the UK, At home I would have got 2 bars, I get none on this phone, at least I have wifi calling thought. It is a major disappointment at work though, I would have got 1-2 bars now I have no bars unless I go outside.
Network reception sucks, especially the data speeds, im Using Jio 4G & Vodafone 4G.
While my friend who has recently bought A50 which has older March update patch doesn't have any such problems though the operators are same & We stay in the same building.
I believe its a bug in the recent update (June/May).
Same here, I have the latinoamerican version A505G with June patch (may patch same problem).
I live far away of the city. With LTE I have one bar or 0 sometimes. I tried with my old samsung j5 2016 (Snapdragon 410!!) and in this I have 3/4 signal. In 3g is the same proportion. In the places with full signal, I have not any problem.
I have been discover the A50 is using the band 28 (inside places). How I can change the band ?

ATT?
Does anyone have good cellular strength? What model A50 hardware and what date firmware update are you on?
Anyone have an A50G and their cellular strength is good?
Terrible Cellular Strength
I've been using this phone for couple of months but honestly cellular strength is very weak! Mobile data keeps struggling and frequently changes status 4G to H+
One of the most annoying thing is when I first enable the mobile data it gets automatically disabled/enabled on its own for more than 5-6 times! It happens each and every times!
I doubt it. It's probably one of those saturated places where the network towers are not too far apart. This device's cellular radios is definitely not optimized for the US market. As I posted above, very horrible cellular signal using it (I have the Panama version A505G) on AT&T. Signal is good only if right next to cellular tower.

i think i'm going to pass on the A50, samsung downgraded it to 4gb of ram anyways
AS I posted above, very horrible signal for me as well. Using the A505G version on AT&T.

If the device supports the correct bands, shouldn't the signal be fine?
What kind of optimizations are needed to have it perform like other Samsung devices that have support for the same band, but get good cellular signal on that band?
Can we flash the optimized radios from those other devices onto the A50?

So got my Xperia 10 II today testing network connectivity
So far my findings
ATT works
Tmobile Works
Verizon Shows Network being seen however not connecting for some reason
Dont have Sprint available to test (wouldn't want to anyway)

Really? Were you able to make calls with at&t? I have them and I cannot make calls with my 10 ii. I have 4g and am able to get mms/texts. I've troubleshooted with customer service and replaced my sim to no avail. I'm literally puzzled bc it said it was compatible ??*

Like any other recent Samsung device (S20U, N20U tested by me), nothing spectactular, works fine.
One thing I noticed today with AT&T is that I had to activate the new SIM card to get 5G. It would stay on 5GE if I snapped the SIM from my iPhone.
Sent from my SM-F916U using Tapatalk
Been having cell service issues at my home. It will go from 5G to LTE to 3G to 2G and then no service. Called T-Mobile and they said it might be a Samsung issue. Before I called them, I even got a new SIM card. Anyone else having issues like that?
Did anyone get a new SIM for their phone or just use the old one?
so coming from the OnePlus 8 Pro to the Fold 2. I feel like i had better reception and coverage on the OP8P vs Fold 2. This is on T-Mobile. Also this is whether I'm using the older sim i had in the OP8P and switched to the R15 SA 5G sim that came w/ the Fold 2.

Data throughput is pretty good. Being an O2 user, the lack of band 20 I thought would be bad but getting about 13gb transfer speed on H+, I don't miss it too much. I live in a small village near the Severn estuary and with all the holiday makers using our one mast, 4g service in the summer is terrible, so me using 3g, I probably get as good a data speed as on 4g.
EE on my second sim is fine on all bands. I just hope that the lack of band 20 is a software limit and it can be brought back in any custom rom. Always happy to help trial it? I can't see them producing a modem without band 20. It would be much cheaper to buy one with all bands and just limit in China as its not needed. If the release it outside of China, they are not going to make another version with different modem, they probably will just change the rom with band 20 included (hopefully).
Strong signal everywhere I've gone so far. Even low band 5g on AT&T in and around Milwaukee WI.
Solid reception here as well
Really? Do you live in big cities and never leave them?
The second I move outside the city it goes to h/h+ and pretty slow. And this happened pretty often. I guess band 20 used a lot here..
I got the phone yesterday and I'm glad to report that it works with Rogers Canada with download speeds of 90-105 mbps on 4g. I checked kimovil prior to buying the phone and it seemed like it should also work with other Canadian carriers except for 5g.

Is the device the same as US? I get mine on Thursday and will check Tmob 5G assuming its available in Tampa area.
Maybe you could get the US factory image 11.0.0 (RQ1A.201205.011, Dec 2020, All carriers except AT&T and Verizon)
Instructions are at Google: https://developers.google.com/android/images
Wow! Looks easy now with Android Flash tool. No more ADB tools and driver issues. Even works from my chromebook!.

Edge, too (Chromium-based). Between that and the increased availability (especially at Beast Buy!!) it has actually become a rather sneaky option/backup phone (which is why I am looking at it - in either black or white - to my 3a (in Just Black)).
I have two queries.
I use T-Mobile's towers, and am in the Washington, DC suburbs - where 5G is normally available to T-M customers. Are Tracfone users considered T-M users for 5G purposes? (I am aware that Verizon purchased Tracfone - further muddying the waters.)
Otherwise, how is performance compared to the Pixel 3a?
