I lose about .75% per hour, roughly. 6% over an 8 hour sleep sesh.

I do, however, leave all the stuff like Bluetooth, nfc, WiFi, location and data on all the time.

I lose about 0-1% with wifi on all night and apps in the ram.
I should find out what's running that's such a power hog. Probably this bull**** launcher I've downloaded that's trying to serve me ads all the time.

the best that I got with the mate 10 pro EU was 1% lost in 9h15m. this was a couple of days ago. I will try to recreate the scenario and I will post a screenshot.
4-5% for me here 8hours standby.

Flightmode? Wifi on? GPS on? Charge-Level of the Battery?
Mine loses 5-7% in 8h in Flightmode, without Wifi and GPS on when in the 70% Level. Maybe it would lose only 1% when fully charged because the battery gauge stays at 100% for the first few % of drain (~ 100mv on mine).

Can everyone here note whether or not they've rooted their phones or not. I'm trying to determine whether the AI is assisting people with their amazing standby times/battery life because when you root, supposedly the AI doesn't work properly any longer

I'm rootless. Phone is sleeping better than me.
pretty impressive
Mate 10 PRO
I have lost ~0.4%/h with dual sim cards from the same carrier.
Official rom, no root
WIFI ON, MOBILE DATA ON, LOCATION ON (high accuracy), LOCATION HISTORY ON. all apps in the background were closed/cleared.
It was 95% after 11 hours, the screenshot shows 94% because I have forgot to take the screenshot and I have used a bit the phone.

Yes that's really impressive and similar to what I'm getting. What other users have reported (and also in my experience) is that the battery meter takes a much longer time to drop from 100% to 95% compared to maybe 80% to 75%. You can try repeating your experiment above but start when the phone is 80% or 70% and see if you still get the same rate of discharge. I'm curious to know your experience. Cheers!

I will try that also but next experiment is to activate the data saver from: settings --> Wireless & Networks --> Mobile data --> Data Saver change from OFF to ON.. I want to see if this helps a bit...
edit: to see if it helps even if the WIFI is always ON
Guys, give the phone some time to improve performance and reduce battery drain.
The NPU runs when the phone is in standby so, on the first days it's normal if the battery drains faster. If you are changing phone settings all the time, the NPU unit will try to optimize it again.
Also, the latest firmware from HUAWEI improved a lot the battery.
Mine lost 1% last night. All on as usual. I guess if you remember to closely all apps that help...

Standby drain over a full day with commuting and running around a bit at work has the power consumption with the screen off at around 1.1%. I have a lot of email accounts and android wear synced though, so that might also increase power consumption.
Over night I generally lose way less, around 3% in 8 hrs.
I can't believe myself...
Went to bed at 2 in the night at 83% battery...
Woke up at 7.45 AM at 82% battery...
Just 01% drop...
Ofcourse both WiFi and mobile data were turned off...
Lost 6 percent in 7 hours idle with data and wifi off on 1st night.

I left my phone uncharged with 42 percent of battery, after 8 hours of sleep, it's still 42 percent tho. If I'll rate the battery by 1-10, I'll rate it 10 out of 10!
Left my phone overnight just lying there : in the morning it had shut itself down. Battery = 0
Cheers

Have you left the smart(not sure what it's called offhand) WiFi enabled?
After a few weeks running the beta version and now running the december update battery life has vastly improved, it only drops 2% overnight without using airplane mode.

Try turning on Airplane mode, Battery saver and Adaptive battery. Idk what's Wind Down tho but the grayscale seems to save the battery on Android Pie.

I often forget to turn wi fi off but it has never caused any battery drain. The phone consumers no more than 1% during 8 hours of standby every night. This phone is cheap but it's battery is amazing
---------- Post added at 03:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 PM ----------
Those who are facing battery issues can do the following:
1. Disable auto syncing
2. Disable auto wifi scanning
3. Disable "mobile data always on" in developers menu
4. Delete some unneeded apps using adb commands. In particular, RCSService (uceShimService), PAI, Spock, Carrier Services, Feedback and some google bloatware. deleting them via ADB won't affect system partitions and won't affect OTA in any way.

Is that 1% nightly loss with (or without) the measures you describe in 1-5 above?
Since the Pie update, mine is consistently losing about 1% per hour (25% per day) just doing (apparently) nothing (few apps installed to sync). I've tried switching off 4G data, WiFi, Location, but curiously that hardly makes any difference. I'm a bit disappointed in comparison to some older android devices that could go for weeks on standby. I can't make much sense of the percentage numbers in the "battery usage" settings as they don't seem to account for it all by any means. I suppose I can try full flight mode next (all radios off) and see how that affects it.

Sorry to hear you are having this. My phone would consume 4-5% before I did some digging and took the aforementioned measures. Now it only gets 1% (2% on rare occasions) overnight even after updating to Pie. However, SOT has taken a significant hit since the Pie update for to screen brightness being too dim when used below 30%. However there is still no problem with standby mode. Do you have D2W functionality? this might be affecting your battery life
Hello, I'm creating an account in order to give my real-life review of this phone. The previous phones I had were HTC One M8, LG G6.
Standby drain is excellent.
At night, I can loose 1 or 2 percent.
But, I have found that the drain is more important when Wi-Fi is turned on.
It only consumes 1% (7% Maximum when I leave WiFi/4G and location turned on) when on standby overnight. Typical for Android phones for me, which is a little bit disappointing considering that it is equipped with 4 Amperes battery.
To compare with, my previous phone (J500H with Bootleggers ROM) did surprisingly better for this, survived doing nothing for a week from 54% to 36% with WiFi turned on (when I just accidentally left it at home while I'm on vacation) and did drain 0-1% overnight doing nothing.
Phone went from 90% to almost shutdown overnight. Gsam reported netmgrd, ipa_ws prevented deep sleep, and Google Play Services have been using body motion sensor for the past 12 hours. I just posted my phone on eBay.
In the beginning battery life was great, close to 4 days. Three years later, it barely makes from morning (100% charged) to evening. Not even a full day....

Left overnight, the phone will lose about 2% battery life on standby.
Yes its drain at njght..
5%
It drains 2% overnight. Data connection off.
For those that think 2% battery loss during night time is too much, it's normal! 2%is actually impressive, considering most devices lose 5 times that sometimes in this price range of 14k
---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:05 PM ----------
And also the latest pie update automatically turns of data and WiFi once you are asleep
Got a 1% drain last night I think it also changes on how much % you are at because it's not a liniar battery drain. some % it lasts a long time and sometimes it drops 2% in no time.
I turned off wifi, 4g and turned on saving mode.

Not the best, I loose around 8% a night. Have seen better
Even in airplane mode I lose around 8-9% a night it is basically 1% every hour on airplane. Do you think this is acceptable? Oneplus 6t loses 2% at night
Wow that's a lot, I don't lose that much overnight, for me it's about 4-5% with WiFi on all the time!
