old title: S8 "integrity verification has failed" after installing Samsung Pay
Hello everybody,
How can I recover the data from the internal memory? Actually I only need the files on the internal storage, I don't care about the app data...
I think the data partition is encrypted as I had set the pattern and iris unlock.
If I manage to back-up the data partition (using a custom recovery), can I then recover my files?
What happened is I tried to install Samsung Pay and now my phone doesn't boot .
"Verification failed
Unable to restart your device. The integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data"

Under the text there is a button saying "RESET".
The ROM version is G950FXXU4CRI5
Thank you!
The long story:
I found the phone with an empty battery after trying to install Samsung Pay. I couldn't use the app because, before adding a credit card, it tried to save my biometrics but failed showing a pop-up saying something like "there was a problem, if this continues, reset Samsung Pay". I gave up and then, ten minutes later, the phone was off. That was expected since the battery was pretty low, around 8%.
So I connected the charger, waited to get to 1% and powered-up.
Then I've got the message above...
Like, WFT Samsung ?! And I was thinking internal is the safer partition, as opposed to the SD card...
hey
i have the same problem and i dont want to loseeeeeeeee my data ~~~ did u have found solution for this problem ?? let me know plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Not yet. I haven't yet formatted the phone. I'm still looking for a solution.

As title states, a friend of mine asked me to try and fix his S1, first of all I boot to download mode (both 3 key & JIG work), and flash a few ROMS in ODIN, but the same thing, it stuck in boot screen, I tried bit 3 files & PIT, with repartition and without, nothing. Also I can't boot into recovery mode, I then open the device to check for any corrosion, but it's clean as a baby ass, then I disconnect the internal battery and connect back, but still no news, also it do charge the battery but not show it on the screen :

hmm which Roms did you flash? Have you tried a Stock Rom? Or put the battery out for a few hours and then try again. Does the battery have enough power? happend to me one time xD
I flashed only stock GB ROMS, the battery indeed have enough power (the phone not boot, but the charging functionality are still in tact, I double checked it with a multimeter), I also cant be sure if there is a problem with the internal memory as it not boot pass the opening screen.
maybe there a safemode? or a fastboot solutions? I tried to repartitions an uSD card to 2GB EXT4 + FAT32 the left space, then flash wit ODIN, but it no write any data on the uSD...
I'm using a Completely Stock Nexus 4. Not Rooted.
My phone suddenly started giving me the low memory warning, and I deleted stuff of about 500 mb, but still when I try to install an app, even very small ones, I get an error saying "could not be installed, free up some space and try again." After that, I got the 4.3 update, (dalvik cache is erased). The error is still showing. Please help.

This error doesn't just show up on stock it shows up on custom roms as well, It's basically telling u to delete a gig or more of apps. Sometimes a factory reset or full wipe is required to fix this issue

Try offloading pictures or videos. Also, if you have a custom recovery, try deleting extra nandroids.
My phone is completely stock, no root, no custom recovery. Yet. Please help, I don't want to factory reset!

8GB or 16GB Nexus 4?
thats how its supposed to be. the phone needs 500mb free in the sd storage, for caches and other files. itll give you that warning around 500mb.
I don't know what happened to my phone. From what I've read, I think its boot loop? I had recently edited my build.prop file. However, I found this was completely unnecessary and was going to overwrite the build.prop file with one that I had backed up to a micro sd card previously. After I did this, I was stuck on the screen(see image). I tried using android recovery mode. I tried "wipe cache partition" and wipe data/factory reset. Afterwards, I tried to reboot from recovery mode, and I saw the word error and the screen was stuck again. I've removed the battery and nothing works. Is something like adb the solution and if so, can someone link me a guide that's really noob friendly. My phone is rooted and this happened after I overwrite the build.prop file and restarted the phone. I have never flashed a rom. Thx in advance.

Similare problem here
I have a similar problem, but a little different...
Rooted the phone and then tried to flash TWRP using their official app., It stated that everything was successful and asked if I wanted to reboot into recovery. I tapped yes so I could make my first backup., Now the phone starts and shows the logo in your image then goes to a blank screen and thats it... Cant boot into recovery or bootloader or anything...
Any advice out there, or do I now won a brick?
I also have this problem and I can not do anything, neither recovery nor odin ...
Hi Mods and DEVS, Please help!!
Yesterday i updated to the latest over the air update for my asus max Pro m1. The file got downloaded successfully and I clicked on the dropdown icon to install the update.
Then it started installing and the bar was also being displayed as in progress. But after that it immediately showed error as in the 1st attachment.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then, to resolve it, I manually downloaded Version WW-15.2016.1902.340 zip file from Asus to my external sd card.
1. Inserted the card into my phone, now on the screen, I clicked on "Apply update from external storage" and then went to the storage location and clicked on the .340 zip file.
The message shown is as below in the 2nd attachment.
After this nothing happened - it stayed on the same page and did not even restart. I manually clicked on "Reboot system now"
But after I did that , still the 1st error is there. I cannot even switch on the phone to go to the home screen.
If i insert an usb cable and connect to a computer, internal memory/sd card of the phone is not accessible. It does not show at all in the computer.
My work data is in the phone and i cannot risk it deleting it as i have not taken a backup. I am a newbie as well to this field of modifying/manually installing updates to the phone.
Please, I request yours' help here!!
Please!!
Specify every details of your phone. Build, root or non root etc. Also mention the tweaks that you've fine if any. Do this for better chances of getting proper fix.
I don't know the fix anyway
My friend's phone had an update recently.
The update finished perfectly but after a while the phone shut down and when she turned it back on it showed this screen:

}
"Recovery: Error validating footer.

VBMETA ."
The phone shutdown after a few hours and it's not turning back on whatsoever
I don't want the internal storage to be wiped so i found a way using Home_CSC but i can't find a ROM with my carrier (i live in Syria) + the phone isn't turning on anymore.
Is there any way to fix this without losing my internal storage?
If wiping the internal storage is the only way please tell me how to fix it too.
Thanks in advance! and really sorry if this isn't the right place to post this i really have read the noobs guide.
