Yes, but not recommended since it will drain your battery fast.

I have the global version in Argentina (Capital Federal) and the signal is very good, i have 4g almost everywhere like before, and the wifi signal is better then my previus phones (lg g2, moto x 2014, moto z, samsung s8)

It is a nightmare the call quality, a lot of ADS, Lots and lots of problems changing from 4G to 3G ...

Bought MI 8 from Gearbest. Some ads can be turned off. Google "how to turn ads off in Xiaomi phones".
Seems to be working for me fine in Chicago using Mint Mobile. (mvn of T-mob)

Signal on Mi Play
Ive got a few spots in my home that i would drop service completely or lose a few bars at the least. With this Mi Play phone those areas have not effected my signal as dramatically and i havnt once dropped service as i did on my Samsung and Asus phones. In truth i forgot about those areas until i wrote this post.

I'm finding that the mobile signal strength (indicated) on my TCL 10L is significantly reduced compared to my previous LETV X527.
I hate to say it but I also see that cellular signal strength seems to be a bit lacking compared to Nokia 1.4, iPhone, even the cheap Tracfone Moto e6. This said, I have not had connectivity issues thus far, just lower signal strength shown on the status bar than other devices with the same SIM card.

I am using this device for the last 2 days, the cellular network seems very good, no hiccups in 4G network, and call quality is excellent.
Didn't find any issues related to data speeds, have to test it more.
Will post here, as I get to spend more time with this device.
I installed the armoured case it' do interfere with single quite a lot
