SCV36

What is your model? can be g950u, g950fd, g9500. What rom you flash with detail version? what previous rom installed in you s8?
You lost IMEI, you can restore by flash combination firmware that match with your model and latest firmware installed.

Download “Root Browser” from the “Downloads” section on your device. Open Root Browser app on your device. Head to the /efs folder located in the root of the device. In the /efs folder, delete everything except “FactoryApp” and “prov_data” folders. Do a Full Reboot of your device.

I'm sorry but it seems your imei lost forever that even combination file cant restore IMEI that stored in EFS. The only way is inject IMEI. There are 2 way to save your s8:
1. Go to Samsung service, they will ask you to change motherboard and inject your lost imei to new motherboard. No matter if your warranty has void, you can do that, but the price is high and can take time.
2. Go to local service store, they will inject your lost imei, it needs spesific box or software license. It is miles way of learning journey and i dont recommend you to learn it in quick. It is illegal to talk about it in xda since IMEI is unique identity of phone and can go wrong if inject other IMEI. Btw, it is hard to know if the box has the compability of your device since s8 snapdragon well known strict to developer. But google is your best friend.

Samsung note 3 n9005 ( european model ) IMEI and software problem

Hello,
I'm from Egypt I bought a note 3 n9005 european sim model
-from settings my phone reads different IMEI than the one written on the phone under the battery.
-The network goes down to emergency call only but never asked me for unlock PIN
-someone installed for me android 4.4.2 that deleted all options like air gestures and all other Samsung stuffs
- In settings menu the phone model n9000 ( -_- )
- I wanted to return the phone to stock settings, firmware and unlock it.
- I think knox already tripped ( how to check it ? )
- I downloaded a file with extensionBTU- N9005XXUDMJ7 (mar.tdr5) 1.36GB + Odin 3.07 + usb driver.
Do I need anything else because it's my first time flash an android phone.
Thanks in advance
Switch on the phone by pressing power+home+volume down. This will take you to download mode. Knox status will be displayed there.
If you are on 4.4.2, you can't downgrade to MJ7.
I have no idea how you managed to get a new with a new ROM.
But you can always try flashing the ROM you downloaded. You don't need anything else. Just read a couple of guides on Odin flashing.

Just don't post your IMEI number here
If your model is showing N9000 it's from a CM build being installed, especially if you lost Samsung features.. as for the IMEI issue we'll investigate that soon as we know what we are actually dealing with :good:

Yup just as I suspected... OK

Open ODIN, put your phone into download mode connect your phone, load the .md5 file into the PDA option on ODIN and press start. It will reflash your stock Samsung back to normal.

Once you flash back to normal Stock Samsung it'll be better to grasp the IMEI errors, when dialling *#06# into the keypad it adds an extra number with a / mine is /01 iirc. for now, how about we get you back to Stock then sort the rest as we are unsure what is what. :good:

SM-N9005ZKEXSI is your product code. It signifies that your phone is from the gulf.
Just flash the firmware as directed by radicalisto. You'll be fine.

To my knowledge once the region lock is activated that's it, you can't undo it. < Ignore that, take a look at this
The region lock isn't to one country though, it's to continents. There may be some ways around it if you are rooted (which you are) but I'm not the best person to speak to regarding that. Odin being tripped means nothing apart from if your phone stops working tomorrow, Samsung won't be interested.
In terms of the Samsung Stock Software that you are installing, it doesn't really matter what software you install providing it isn't the Exynos version. Because you have the 4.4 boot loader though you MUST flash the leaked polish build. If you install the version that was mentioned above by one of the other posters, later on we can focus on getting you the correct software for your device region if we need to.
I can't tell you much about region lock. Mine came without it.
n9005xxudmj7 is a ROM version. Not a product number.
Since your knox is already tripped, you can easily root your device using Chainfire's autoroot and install the regionlock-away.
But before we get there, we need to get you up and running on atleast some version of TouchWiz.
Did you try flashing that file yet?

difference between flashing ... ?

hello people
i have this samsung s4 i9505 which i think is not genuine , i think it's koren. its stuck on boot screen and i want to flash it . so i want to ask what is the difference between flashing a genuine android phone and koren android phone . any kind of help is appreciated
Try entering download mode by pressing volume down, home, and power at the same time. If unable to enter download mode your phone is a counterfeit. If you can enter download mode you'll have a model number, which we can use to point you to the correct stock ROM to flash. Flashing the ROM will stop the bootloop.
Fake phones use other parts than the original phone. And since roms are made based on the phone's parts, they won't work on the fake ones.

Thank you very much for your guidance. Yes I can enter into the download mode by pressing the mentioned buttons. It says the following :
Odin mode
Product name : GT-i9505
Current binary : custom
System status : official
Knox kernel lock : 0*0
Knox warranty void : 0*1
CSVCONFIG-LSV : o*30
Write protection : enabled
Emmc burst mode : enabled
Dues this mean my phone is original ? Thanks again for your guidance
I would say it looks valid.
Try to plug it to USB with Odin running on computer and get it detected.
Check samfirmware for i9505 official ROM and flash it.

As mentioned in PM, the phone is real. Now tell us what carrier you're using and we can direct you to the correct ROM for your phone.

thanks again for your help . looks like my mobile is genuine after all .i've checked sammobile as mentioned above but the thing is i am from pakistan . and there is no official firmware for pakistan . can you still help me ?. which rom should i flash ?
Any one you wish. Your phone is unlocked, so you're not limited to a specific ROM. I recommend using one of the ROMs not tied to a carrier, such as ones with the CSC code of BTU.
Samsung is actually a Korean company. So, if your phone is made in Korea, it's probably genuine.

thanks Again for your help . sorry i lost you there "the CSC code of BTU" . after googling i think you are saying that a rom of uk maybe ? if that's the case can i go ahead and flash a uk version of rom ?
and again which carrier should i choose ? i have found a rom but i can't post url so i am going to pm you
*laughs at myself for losing you*
Yeah, that's what I meant. The BTU ROM is an unbranded ROM for the UK I9505. It's carrier agnostic, meaning no carrier mods of any kind and will function in any country, so long as the phone isn't tied to its carrier. Your phone isn't tied to a carrier, so the ROM is fine.

Since the imei is all zeros, you've already lost the imei.
Can you return the phone to the seller or ask the seller for the phone imei? You may have to take the phone to a repair shop to have them reprogram the imei.

Help shv-e300l help

Hello
I dont know if this is the correct place to post(please correct me if so )
I have a SHV-E300L with its imei and baseband null (got it for cheap just to look into this case)
previous owner told me it happened without him doing anything but by the phone itself
Phone is not rooted. So no efs backups.
I have read that you can Force write the imei code if you know it?
What about the baseband?
What if i convert it to international version ? (i9500/i9505)
Or
Is it posiible to swap a motherboard of a i9500(idk the model no but i need 4g)
and the usb also?
it will cure the imei and baseband right? (since the motherboard carries its own?)
Please help me
Im just a newbie to the s4 I have a S2 and ive rooted flashed reflashed and stuff
Thanks All
Boot into download and verify the model number. Then go to sammobile.com and flash the latest stock ROM using Odin.
You can not convert a phone from one model to another model.

Different model of S5 showing in about section and recovery of my phone

How can the phone model at the about section of my phone display SM-G900F while at the recovery and Odin mode it shows G900W8? How am I supposed to know the right model to flash if I want to upgrade the Android version from 4.4.2 to marshmallow?

Easiest way is to turn off the phone, take out the cover, remove battery and read the white label.
By the way, when I replied to your last post, it would have been polite to inform back if my suggestion was helpful or not.

Thanks for the reply. But how is it possible for different model software to be installed on a phone? All of the system applications show sm-g900w8 in Titanium backup and the label at the panel too shows sm-g900w8. My concern actually is if this is normal or the phone is just messed up. A quick analysis of the IMEI using the online IMEI analyser shows both sm-g900f and sm-g900w8 on the about section of the phone.
I'm sorry. I'm a bit new to this xda of a thing and the whole is a bit frustrating and overwhelming at times

As your phone is labelled - G900W8 what also is confirmed by the IMEI then no doubt what stock firmware you should flash. If "About the phone" info shows G900F it would mean that somebody meesed up by flashing different firmware (data from built.prop system file is used to display phone model in the settings).

Ok, but how do you explain the 'sm-g900f' showing at online IMEI analyser? When I checked the IMEI online, it was showing both g900f and g900w8. Here's a copy of the information obtained from IME info site about the phone's imei:
Information about your phone
Model: G900F Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8)
Brand: SAMSUNG
IMEI: TAC: 352308 FAC: 06 SNR: 112738 CD: 8
In addition to this, here's what is also written on the same label that has sm-g900w8 as the phone's model:
IC: 649E-SMG900T
Making the third model that this ****ing phone has?

Infact, I don't know what that IC means too. Can I have the link to the Samsung IMEI checker? The website that showed up when I googled didn't display anything after entering the imei. The website nane is imeipro. Again, how could two websites show different information about an imei? imei.info shows the phone is both g900f and g900w8 but tend towards g900f in the details provided. Can someone even trust those imei sites?

To be honest you are digging too deep for this. I would just rely on what is written on the phone's label: "Model".
Here you have what I checked but I wouldn't rely on the checkers too much:
http://www.imeipro.info/samsung_imei_check.html
By the way if I were you I would remove the IMEI number from your previous post - it might be not safe to publish it.

Thanks, I think I'll just go for the g900w8. I appeared to be digging too much about this because I'm wary of bricking my phone. Thanks for all the helps
