So I just bought a Galaxy Watch and would like to use Samsung Pay, but it seems that Samsung doesn't support non-Samsung phones.
As other forums suggested, I installed older Samsung Pay app versions but this won't work on the Galaxy Watch either.
So does anyone have an idea on how I can use my OP6T and the Galaxy Watch for mobile payment?
Thanks in advance.

I've been using Samsung Pay with my Gear S3 with no issues since I bought the phone in November. Make sure you download the Samsung Pay plugin and the gear plug in from the Galaxy Wear app.
Update: I bought the Galaxy Watch yesterday. Samsung Pay works just fine. My 6t is not rooted. Make sure you have the Galaxy wear app installed on your phone. You can use the Galaxy Wear app from the Play Store. Doesn't have to be from apkmirror.com.

I successfully installed the latest Samsung Pay App and the Framework from APK Mirror, but everytime I try to run the app it just quits with "You Watch might not be compatible".
I'm not sure if Samsung Pay is available in Germany yet, so maybe I should change the region of my watch as mentioned in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm...nging-region-samsung-gear-sport-r600-t3771324 ?

Try Galaxy Apps
Missing
I agree I'm missing it too On my samsung galaxy s7 edge. I went to galaxy apps and it looked like it downloaded but I can't find it anywhere. I must be missing something or its hidden in a folder. I'll keep looking!
Trying to remember how I activated it on my wife's S6. I think you have to go into settings > tap & pay.
I just read that Verizon forced Samsung to remove Samsung Pay from VZW S7 and Edge. You can also side load it from APKmirror.com also.

Won't download I am trying to download/install this on my s7 edge and it has been at 43% downloaded for the past 3 hours?????

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Galaxy S7 is scheduled to be released on March 11th, and Samsung Pay service for S7 will be enabled once it is officially released.

One post said that Verizon has also removed any mention of Samsung Pay from their S7 manual.
Wow you are completely correct! Verizon just pulled that lowball move and demanded that Samsung remove it. I'm sideloading it as we speak.
Has anyone had any trouble getting past the finger print registration on samsung pay?

Had this issue on the s6, remove your fingerprints and clear cache in the fingerprint app then set it up with a pin. Once you finish the install turn on fingerprints

I had to download the apk, then install. Once I installed I was able to register my card fine.

Seems you may be correct. (Update)
"We've spoken with Samsung, and they have clarified that while Samsung Pay currently cannot be installed via the Play Store or Galaxy Apps on the Verizon model, it will be available to Verizon Galaxy S7s and S7 edges via those channels starting on March 11th, the official launch date for the phones. Samsung Pay is not pre-loaded on Verizon models, unlike some other US carriers, and Verizon does not advertise the app - and even went so far as to strip it from the user manuals of its versions of the S7 and S7 edge - but sideloading will not be necessary by the time we reach the retail launch date for the devices."

Samsung pay is live on the play store.
It works on mine!
Spoke with a Samsung rep yesterday about this. I was looking into the phone and he said that the VZW version just won't have it. He said that only Android pay would work.

another good reason to not ever call customer service! haha
Got the S7 today. Just downloaded Samsung Pay from the Playstore, installed and registered a card without a problem.

I don't have any cards that work with Samsung pay. I got all excited to get my free charger and try out the service and nothing. At least android pay works

Yep haha. I just happened to be a in Best Buy store because my friend works there and I was able to hold the phone without the security tether. Their resident "Samsung Expert" was the one who told me that. Only for me to see an article the next day about how VZW was allowing it on phones.
I was able to install Samsung Pay from the Play Store, but adding a card won't work on my Verizon S7.
I called Samsung Pay support and ran through settings, clear cache, uninstall, restart device, reinstall Pay and still won't connect to server to add any cards.
They have sent it up the chain at Samsung Support and said I should hear back within 48 hours.

Hi guys,
I had a small update on my UK S7 edge (1.5mb) and after it completed Samsung pay app was gone.
Anyone else had this happen?
Thanks.
Mine was shipped without the Pay app (UK version from Samsung). It also didn't have the Music or Video apps either.
I sideloaded Pay and haven't received the update yet.
Its strange, was yours a Sim free version? Have you managed to download and install the pay app?
Thanks.
Yes, SIM free from Samsung directly.
You can download the Pay app here.
Thank you nobnut, that worked for me. Much appreciated! :good:

Check the playstore for Samsung Pay or the galaxy store.
Vodaphone included their own pay app rather than Samsungs....
It's that all the update was for?

I was thinking about how I missed having root but haven't because I like Samsung pay. Well now that the Gear S3 has MST unlike it's predecessors would that mean that if you use the Gear and have a rooted phone that you could use Samsung Pay from the smart watch? And would it only be available from the Frontier model that way it's not communicating directly with the phone through Bluetooth, just through LTE, or could it work with the classic as well? Just something that has got me wondering, maybe it will allow me to get back into having root again. Thanks for the help and replies everyone.
***Edit***
So doing some research I happened to find this directly from Samsung's website:
"Make up to five payments on your Gear S3 without a Galaxy smartphone nearby after initial setup. Reload payment capability by connecting to a Galaxy smartphone via Bluetooth."
Doesn't sound too promising...
This is a very good question, we may just have to wait and see unfortunately. But really curious as you are to know the answer.
Cannot get Samsung pay to work with this phone. Samsung gear installs but the pay plugin won't load.
Same here...
Yea I'm having the same issue, I have reset the watch and still nothing.

any update on getting Samsung pay to work with Gear S3 and LG G6?
I've always used the att variant, but I wanted to try out the exynos version. Does Samsung pay in the US work with it? In what ways will I be limited? LATE?
Also, is there a way to preorder that version?

I'm getting a UK S8+ to use on AT&T and have researched this. Based on what's been done with S7e we should be able to get Samsung pay working on the UK variant. To make it work requires installing the right versions and combinations of Samsung Pay Framework and the Samsung Pay app. Payments and Samsung Pay Rewards seems to work, gift cards might, but the "deals" doesn't seem to. I've also pre-ordered a AT&T S8+ to play with until the UK version arrives. I'll extract the Pay Framework and Pay App from it to install my UK phone. Since Samsung Pay isn't pre-installed on UK phones (it hasn't launched there) it's more of a challenge. From what I've read global phones with Pay pre-installed seem to be easier to get working. Pay is supposed to launch in the UK this year so that might help. We'll see.
In terms of other "stuff" you won't be able to use VoLTE, NumberSync, and other AT&T specific features. But you'll get a crapware free phone and regular updates from Samsung directly.
Thank you for the reply! I preordered the ATT version as well.. if you don't mind, let me know if you are able to get this working. I would love to use the international version vs the ATT

Since the phone is unlocked can you flash official firmware say from Sweden or Russia where Pay has launched already to get Pay preinstalled and not jump through hoops ?

Yeah that's what I thought too. When I had the s7 edge, this still didn't work. I did glimpse over in the s7e forums and saw international users did get it working. I'll definitely be giving the s7 method a try as soon as I get it. Im going to hold off root just so I can use Samsung pay

Weird. is it the same model "F" they sell in UK and Sweden/Russia?
I've been using my S3 watch lately anyway for Pay, so lack of Pay on the phone itself might not be a big deal.

I'm retired from flashing. I'd rather add Samsung Pay to my BTU S8+ than flash another country's ROM on it. BTU typically has the least regional modifications and gets the most frequent updates fastest. If you read the S7e forums you have to go through some gymnastics to get Samsung Pay working in the U.S. on an international phone no matter what CSC you use. So I may as well keep my original CSC. Once I figure it out I'll post instructions and the APKs if necessary as I know a lot of people are ordering British S8s.
So I got my S8 Exynos from EBAY, samsung pay didn't work because I had the AFG CSC, so I reset the phone with a UK sim in it and that changed the CSC to XEU (UK), Samsung pay now works but the problem is in the UK they only have the NFC payment activated by Samsung not the MST so basically it's nothing more than Android Pay...
Anyone tried installing US SPay APKs on your intl. phone? any luch?
Best,
Joe
