Add app to game optimizer - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello, recently just updated my v20 to oreo and it got game optimizer which I've been eagerly waiting for. Unfortunately it won't detect my game as it should've as it is an unofficial app name (i used apk editor and change the package name in order to have 2 id on 1 device)
Is there any way to add this onto the list manually? My phone is currently not rooted, but if root can solve this issue, I will happily go through with it since my warranty is already expired.
if anyone know how to get it detected through editing manifest file is also appreciated, thanks in advance

Thats just a gimmick, its a useless feature, i have a couple of games on it and i can change graphics, take a screenshot and the break time which is the only thing useful

You can use SQLite Editor to add custom apps into com.lge.gametuner.

It is not a gimmick and can be useful for some games that renders the game at native screen resolution which the graphics settings can forcefully set to 720p or 1080p.

That's the reason I need that feature lol
My game always render app at my native resolution and it lags after 10 minutes or so gameplay due to the heat it generates
Some of my games are smoother ever since I set them to 720p, that's why I need it to be able to add other application as well, especially some games/apps that I sideload since all of them are not detected

Droid explorer for windows.... very cool! Have you seen it? :)

I found this while faffing around finding tools for themes...

download droid explorer from http://de.codeplex.com/ it gives full root access to your streak like using root explorer. Seems to only be for windows 32 & 64bit but they may have other versions. It also has options to reboot, flash recovery, backup, install (with icons etc..), desktop sms, logcat console, screencast (live screenshot view, im watching myself type on streak from desktop! Which has options for call, home, infact everything.... it fully emulates my streak allowing full control via desktop..very cool), has a colour coded console shell, package signer, sqlite explorer.... list is enless and i havent even looked through tools yet! Has anyone else tried using it?
I saw this on the other post and downloaded it. It rocks. The screencast isn't remarkably fast, but it is the best around.
Thanks
You do have to be rooted, but that isn't a big deal.
Nice find tina thanks will have a play with this
Yeah you need to be rooted but most of the functions are only useful for rooted phones so its fair enough, i enitially posted it in response to a thread where someone needed to flash without fastboot, he was struggling so when I stumbled on this I thought it was a perfect solution... then I realised how cool it is and started a thread to share with everyone
hmmm cud prove useful....nice..
Nice find tina!!!
Though I'd wish the guys that made the screencast app would continue working on it as I've been using the app for a while now and I've posted a few comments/issues about how the screen appears upside down and that all they need to do is allow the user to continue rotating the image around as is just visually upside down and not physically (as in the actual touch area). So for example even though the notification bar appears along the bottom of the screen, you still need to click and drag down from the top, so if the devs just allowed the user to cycle through all 4 orientations then this would be awesome. As well as making the ' and left key work.
As for the rest of the program, I love that I don't have to mount/unmount the SD card no more
Been using that with my hd2 for a while now. You can even sideload apps with it. I had to learn that when messing with my daughters captivate

and cloud installation works like a charm! however, not all applications are supported on Notion Ink Adam.
Yes, i'm rooted. Probably won't work if you're not rooted since you dont have google service and you're not "logged" onto your google account
Are you Rooted? If so, anyone who hasn't rooted, please tryit and let us know!
Im not rooted atm and it works, but some apps arent compatible with the Adam, Google Maps/Google Earth for example.
Seems u still need Market installed since it loads info from it so u can download. So its useless for the adam currently.
Thanks guys for keeping us updated!
A bunch of us don't have or Adams yet and we live vicariously through you. Thanks again for posting your updates.
I wonder how it will determine that an app is compatible with the Adam. Does it go by characteristics (eg screen resolution, CPU, memory, ...) or does the developer have to specify what devices (or all) will work (eg what GameLoft does on their web page).

that's a good question. i think they just list it as an unknown device in their database. i always wonder what happens if modify the default.prop file to something like Samsung Tab....

Right. So we may have to play with this file to be able to buy compatible software if Adam is not listed.
Buying at GameLoft for my Galaxy Fascinate can be painful. When they gave away Dungeon Hunter for the holidays I had to find a version for one of the sister phones because they had not tested it on mine so it did not show when I went to their site on my phone. I hope they figure out a better way.

My guess is if you have market installed and working, it should show up as a device on your "my market account" as an option.

Shield Update 63 (Android 4.3 Jelly Bean) is live!!!

Go get it!

Android 4.3: Shield is getting updated to Android 4.3, making it one of the first Android devices — gaming phone, tablet or otherwise — to be updated to the most current (and available) version of Android. (And some apps can now be moved to the SD card.)
Console mode: This has been teased publicly, and now it'll be available. You'll be able to plug your Shield into your TV and control it wirelessly using a Bluetooth gaming controller.
Custom control mapping: Not every app has been optimized for Shield, and not every developer will take the time to do so. So NVIDIA's giving you a way to set your own custom mappings, download mappings others have made — and share your own with your friends.
GameStream exits beta: The deal where your computer crunches the graphics and shoots them to your Shield — provided you have the proper NVIDIA graphics card — grows up and gets official. (Plus you can get some nice deals on games when you buy a new graphics card.)

Game Mapper Ability right out of the gate:
One thing I'm wondering about console mode, for the gamers out there: does it support two controllers, in other words is it possible to enjoy two players gameplay?

Yes you will. However, you can push superuser through CWM recovery to regain root....

confirming 4.3 can be easily routed using this updated method: https://github.com/linux-shield/shield-root
thanks!
awesome that now we have mapping capabilities, btw simpler than tincore.. yeey
edit: after playing about one hour nfsmw i found that game mapper it's slower in doing swipes and can't do two things at once on the screen (eg: when you order the swipe for nitro, the steer is un responsive for about half a second. And that's disastrous for your car/race ) The two actions can't be done simultaneous). Tincore makes swipes faster and also can do multiple actions on the screen at once (one doesn't have to wait for another to end as I see game mapper does. So you can nitro and steer at the same time, as it's supposed.). So i'll also keep tincore installed and use whatever is best depending on game..
if someone finds this advice useful..

Is there an app that allows you to force-close all open apps that works on Android TV

I'm looking for an application that allows force-closing running applications, as its running down the memory and making the performance slow down. I'm not a huge fan of slowdowns, if anyone know of such a app, please type in it the comments below.
Thanks!
..
Thanks you for providing me this download link. I will try this out when I get home tonight, looking forward to seeing it work. Why don't you submit it to the Google Play Store?
..
id be willing to try this when i get home as well. what app did you modify exactly? id like to look into it on the play store before i get home and install yours on my shield.
..
Hey man so i got to play with this a little bit last night. Thanks so much! It will definitely help when im testing out new apps and troubleshooting issues. But to be honest, using the app last night made me realize something......
The shield is pretty damn good at managing ram on its own. With no easy way to force close apps prior to the app you provided, I just let shield take care of it, assuming all my running apps that i didnt force close on my own, were using up all my free ram available. But last night when using your app, each time i tried to "kill all" i only got a meager 100-200MB free, at best. Even with all the apps running, i still had like over 1gig, usually 1.5, available. its awesome.
But yeah, still keeping this app for messing with stuff. Thanks.
Awesome, I'll give it a try too. It always annoys the hell out of me that I have to go into settings then apps then go through all my installed apps just to kill a frozen app. It would be awesome if someone could implement the "hold back to kill app" that is in most ROMs.

The file for your modified app is no longer working, any chance of reuploading this please?
2017 and still no android Nokia until "autumn" in UK for my Sony TV to fix this.
Thanks

Questions about games and apps on SM-T590

Hi!
I have Galaxy Tab A 10.5 (2018), want to try out some apps / games before I buy them, will installing a pirated APK from outside Play Store trigger Knox? I know the cracked apps sometimes contain malware, etc, so I risk my data, but can they damage Knox protection making it invalid and trigger warranty bit? After some googling I found that Knox triggers when it detects modified system, kernel, or root attempt, but there is nothing about apps installed on the device.
My other question is related to Samsung Game Optimizing Service. I have noticed that the games are blurrier than web browsers or normal user interface, found out it's caused by GOS. I downloaded the Samsung Game Tuner app's APK and installed it directly, because it's not available in Play Store or Galaxy Apps. It's working normally, after starting it up I found out that every game's resolution is set to 75% by default. Changing them to 100% solves the problem, but that's not really a "clean" solution. Is there any way to set the default resolution value without Game Tuner? Tried to delete GOS's data, restart the device, didn't help, the games running in 75% resolution by default. Here is an example screenshot of a system info app which is detected as a game, the tablet's screen resolution is 1920x1200, but it's running lower than that:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
I don't want to root the device or install custom ROM as it's just a week old, and it would be bad to void the warranty.
Thanks a lot for help!
You can disable that GOS to make games run as apps, using app like 'Package Disabler Pro ( Owner APP) All Android' in Google Play store.
You might need to buy it.
(You might disable Game Launcher/Game Tools too because they are GOS dependants.)
After disabling them, reboot the device. And check the game's running resolution.
- But this way you cannot use Game Tools' recording feature and GOS' game performance optimization.
This is applicable to almost every Samsung Android Galaxy devices.
