Can't add accounts after failed twrp and reset - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

There's a whole complicated series of events, but here's the current issue:
I just did a factory reset, and now when I go to 'Add Accounts' in settings, neither Google nor Samsung work. Google doesn't even ask for login credentials, just skips straight to 'checking info' and then fails. For Samsung, it takes my credentials and stops on a blank screen titled 'legal information,' and a non-functional 'next' arrow on the bottom. I've tried wiping the cache and a full reset, but no luck.
Now, the longer story: I just got the phone, and was trying to install TWRP etc. I got it to work once, but then realized I hadn't done the OEM unlock. Somehow ended up in a bootloop and ended up re-installing stock firmware. Tried again with OEM unlocked and got TWRP installed, but then after flashing no-verity-opt-encrypt 6.0, it went into a bootloop again. Reinstalled stock firmware again, but now I can't get the OEM unlock to show up, the date won't stick where I manually set it, and the Samsung/Google accounts won't work. Tried to install TWRP again anyway, but the install failed. Factory reset AGAIN to see if it would fix the accounts issue, but nothing changed.
I've tried googling the issues but couldn't find anything exactly like this, so I have come to kneel and beg the android gods for help. ANY assistance or suggestions on what to try would me most appreciated.
Here's the specs:
Galaxy S8 SM-G950F
Android 8.0
Used Odin3-v3.13.1 (didn't read about Prince Comsy ver. until after all this...)
Used twrp-3.2.3-2-dreamlte.img.tar
Used stock G950FXXS4CRLB_G950FOXM4CRL1_BTU
No SIM
If anymore info is needed, please let me know. Thank you.

[Q] Factory Reset Not Removing Google Account

I bought an Orange San Francisco which had already been "activated" with the original buyer's Google account details. I can't sign in to Market with my own account and I don't know his password. I tried a factory reset in an attempt to get rid of his Google account, but it's still there after the factory reset.
I've read MANY posts about FTM and hard reset key combinations, but none of them work (vol- and Power; home, vol+ and Power; etc.).
I've tried these instructions: Google "how-to-install-cyanogenmod-to-zte-blade" (I can't post links), but I can't find a fastboot for my OS that works (openSuse 11.4 64bit).
I've tried pressing the reset button next to the SIM card, but it didn't seem to change anything.
Please help me out!
Thanks
Stefan
How about trying the normal way thru Settings > Accounts & sync. Here you should see the existing account under "Manage accounts". Select that account and remove it.
You can install a custom ROM in Blade without any computer, if you don't repartition or format your sdcard. Follow e.g. the instructions here.
sorted
I tried removingthe existing user but it told me that the only way to remove the user was to factory reset, which didn't work.
Seems that the updated Rom Manager I was using was causing the problems. I downgraded to 3.0.1.4 and I was then able to boot in recovery and flash a new ROM.
I wasn't able to get the most recent ROMs working though. They would get stuck on the boot logo. But stable 7.0.0 is working nicely.
Great that the problem is now solved. I suspect you have a gen1 device. If you update that to gen2, you can use new roms as well.
Gen2 Upgrade and Latest ROM
You're right. I had a gen1 phone (ask pigfish told me). I upgraded to gen2 and was then able to flash the latest nightly ROM 179 without hassles.
All running very well now.

[Q] "Unfortunately, settings has stopped working" after factory reset

Hello folks,
The SGH-i337 is my first android device and I've had it only for a few days now. I rooted the phone using the "1 click root and debloat" files in the development section of this forum. Everything worked great after that. Today I installed an unofficial apk on my phone but I wasn't comfortable with it at all. So I did a factory reset (are you not supposed to do that?)
After the factory reset, the phone boots up and gives me the usual settings menu. At the end of the settings however, it lags for a few seconds before it says "Unfortunately, settings has stopped working". This brings me back to the "choose a device name" menu in settings. If I fill it out again and go through settings, it crashes again. I can't get into anything else on the phone since it keeps going through the initial setup.
I've tried booting into recovery mode and deleting the cache. I doubt that this clears it since the phone gives me an error and reboots. I tried selecting factory reset through the recovery mode but that also gave me the same issue (said error and rebooted).
After some searching I've found that flashing a stock rom with odin might be the best way to go. Is that correct or is there a better way? On the odin download page, it only lists the 9505 version for Galaxy S4. Could I use that for my SGH-i337?
I think the phone is still rooted because it says Samsung Custom before booting up. Thanks for the help!
Had same exact issue as well.
I booted in to download mode and flashed it with factory rom, then installed CWM.

Oh man, you're a life saver. I'm downloading the file and I'll give it a shot. So just to confirm, I put the phone into download mode and run Run_Me.bat and that should fix the issue?
Also for future reference, are you not supposed to do a factory reset after rooting your phone? Thanks!
Fixed it
The issue arose because the settings program was supposed to follow up with at&t locker setup. But since I had deleted the at&t files with the debloat tool, it kept crashing. So the solution was to reset the phone to stock firmware. I used Odin 3.07 to flash the factory ROM onto the phone and now everything is back to normal.
I guess this also answers my previous question, if I'd probably have the same problem again if I do a factory reset.

Just dont use all in one tool as you did before. Just use the chooper rooting process in the link I provided.
Then manually remove the apps you dont with titanium backup.

Cannot Decrypt Note 3

:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: :crying::crying::crying::crying:
I have installed our company email powered by google on my Note 3. Automatically it will ask to download a google device policy, and will ask you to encrypt your phone. It will also ask you to change the screen lock into a password and will disable all the other options such us pattern and etc. Now I want to install a custom ROM and wipe everything. I have tried wiping it in different ways including TWRP. I have tried deleting the company email, uninstalled the google device policy but still the same thing. I went through settings and tried to decrypt it, and it will boot but still not decrypted. I have tried installing custom ROMs thinking that it might resolve but after the installation it will still ask for the password and when it boots, it gets stuck. I need your expertise please. I've read from different blogs and unfortunately they are having the same issue. What will I do? The last thing that i'm doing right now is reflashing it with it's original software throug ODIN. I'm still downloading it but I have read it somewhere that he also tried it and it didn't work. Please please developers help me on this.
Thanks,
Marlowe D.

Resolved
With desperation, I was able to resolved it on my own. I just tried to do wrong passwords for 10 times and it will erase everything on your device which is good as new.

custom binary frp-lock resurrected everytime by google?

So I'm using androman's pre-rooted firmware for my G-361f, and have been able to install the fixed twrp. (Thanks guys!) I have oem-unlocked and adb-debugging selected in developer options, and have toyed with the seandroid-permissive boot.img from the androman thread. If I put my device into download-mode, it says frp-unlocked. However, if I register a gmail account to access google-play, then turn my device off, it will not boot because the 'custom binary frp-lock' is back again. (even though settings were unchanged)
No problem-flash stock rom with odin and start from the beginning, but to get the twrp recovery to work requires a factory reset, and so it's inconvenient to have to keep repeating the process.
My solution has been to delete my gmail account from the phone immediately every-time, as soon as I have whatever I need from google-play, but it seems like a cumbersome solution. I havn't found any other mention of this issue, so I'm wondering if I've missed something obvious? Is there a more permanent fix?
Thanks

Something wierd is going on.

i checked manually for upates, 15 minutes ago. It showed me that an system update is avaible.
Update installed, rebooted and here starts the wierd things.
-Phone boots up but the only thing im able to access is the ''edge'' bar where is the edge people and other fun features.
-Pressing volume button down will bring the boot menu with : reboot, shutdown etc..
-Tried to boot in safe mode. no luck, only the safe mode bar appears in the left.
-Wiping cache, no luck.
-Not rooted. Stock.
Only thing that i installed outside the play store is the samsung lab application wich is shared here in the forums because its not avaible for s6 edge+ for some reason in the samsung's app store.
I managed to boot in recovery mode and this text took my attention : mmb29k.g928fxxs3bqa9 (frimware codename?) 6.0.1 android version
Made factory reset, works now but lots of important data (pictures, music etc..) lost in that.
I made an google search with mmb29k.g928fxxs3bqa9 and found nothing.
(edit: In the download folder, there seems to be a file with the rom build number/number)
Yeah I had the same problem, posted about it in the general forum. I flashed another stock ROM ontop of it from Sammobile and it saved me from doing the factory reset.

they are still sharing it.
Someone who's phone updated correctly needs to make these guys a firmware they can flash back with Odin otherwise they won't be able to find anything that works. (no downgrades allowed)
Make sure you backup what you can. Export contacts, everything on Phone when you connect your computer can be copied in/out, if you didn't know. App data will have to be individually backed up.
