I am on Pixel Experience Android Pie ROM for Nexus 6p.
Please suggest a good camera application?
Google Camera ver. 6.1.021.220943556 works great for me. You can get it at APKMirror linked below. When you install this cam, you may have to disable, clear data and cache of the stock cam and then reboot before it will work.

Thanks. Will try it out
I'm on ressurection remix room, without any mods, and this build of gcam has problem with flash. I tried clearing cache and data, flash lights once and then it stops, even if I choose between auto and always on. Has anyone else observed the same problem?

My Yu yureka rear camera is not working since last 3 months, though front camera is ok. Then, contacted Yu support and as per their suggestions done hard reset, checked in safe mode, but nothing helped.
After googling regarding the issue, i found a post and as per the post, please guide me installing TWPR, clear cache, dalvik, system and data and doing a clean flash of Cyanogen OS. I don't possess any knowledge about customer ROM, recovery etc., so plz help me in this regard.
thanks.
1. install google camera from apkmirror.com but, install the correct one ..see the minimum version requirement.
2.using lucky patcher push the app in system as default camera.
and using system app remover ( download it from playstore) remove the stock camera..
and believe me, the google camera is much, muche stable and better than stock camera..
but do not install google camera from playstore. =)
After latest Nougat 7.1.2 update Google camera app keep stopping. I've booted phone in safe mode to check out whether some new app is the causing app to crash and didn't find any problem. Does anyone else have similar problem and how to solve it?
Tnx in advance.

In Settings>>Apps>>Camera force stop the app, and then under "storage" clear data. If that doesn't work uninstall the app reboot and then reinstall the app. If that doesn't work boot to recovery and wipe the cache partition if stock recovery, dalvik cache too if you have TWRP.
Tried with restart, with safe mode, wipe the cache. I haven't cleaned dalvik because I haven't rooted the phone. It seems that front camera is not working. After 7.1.2 update I managed to take one selfie with Google app and afterwards app crashed. I presume that app must stayed on front camera which keeps app crashing. Front camera is also not working on Skype and Snapchat, because I realised that switch camera option vanished on both apps. Any other suggestions?

Could anyone direct me to a working Google camera mod?
I've tried a couple of mods mentioned here but all force stopping for me every single time I try to open it.
Tried clearing Cache/Dalvik. Still nothing.
So is there any mod that works? Or something to be done for it to work?
I'm on RR btw.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,
I own an Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. I was using Havoc OS 3.0 based on Android 10, with TWRP installed. Boatloader unlocked with cam2 api enabled, but the device wasn't rooted.
I was using gcam Version: 7.0.009.259843690 port. And the camera was working perfectly. But once I change the "Pixel AWB Mod" from the settings, then the camera stopped capturing pictures and then when I turned the HDR+ Mode off, the camera started capturing images but it was all just solid green. All modes stopped working. Now it only captures solid green images.
Then I tried to fix it. Went to settings and then cleared the data of that particular app but didn't worked. I also tried all the different mods of GCam that were available for my device, but all were just waste of time. Then I went to recovery mode and cleared Dalvik/ART cache and cache but didn't worked. Then I wiped all the system, data, vendor, internal storage and then reinstall the whole system again. That also didn't work. Then again went to TWRP and wiped all, and installed Pixel Experience ROM, but sadly that also didn't fixed the issue.
Now what to do? I'm trying to find out the main cause of it but I'm just not getting it. If anyone of you can help, then please respond! It would be a great help. PLEASE!!!
Thank you!?
Well, i don't know how to fix it, but now i know that i shouldn't touch it
After updating from last build my video camera is failing in both stock and google camera , and other third party camera apps. I have uninstalled, cleared cache and Data and tried Safe mode. Nothing is working error is "Something went wrong, Part of video has not saved" is there anything I can do short of a factory reset? I can record video in Instagram and I can make video calls from telegram. Camera MX can record but fails at saving when recording is stopped.
Having the same issue with the latest version of 17.1
Have you found a solution?
I did a factory reset and accidentally ruined my Esim, and then reverted to stock for now PITA.
I did not have TWRP installed at the time just los stock recovery... I would have liked to have tried clearing data cache etc before doing a full factory reset (which didn't fix the camera issue) reverting to stock did but the options were not available
Found a solution!
CERTAIN AOSP roms have an options to spoof your phone as a PIXEL XL.
Namely:"UNLOCK HIGH FPS IN GAME" and "UNLIMITED PHOTO STORAGE".JUST TURN IT OFF AND RESTART. THIS SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.HOPE IT HELPS
Also Disable "Allow Signature Spoofing".

The phone is gone but this is important for anyone else in the future. Thank you this is great to know for any other future issues. Although I am not sure it was a signature spoofing issue as I was bone stock lineage OS with no mods and spoofing is not supported/enabled by default
Yea just wanted to share what worked for me!
