I've answered you on the EX kernel thread..
It gives an extra 8- 10 %
Just root your phone ...
HBM is not the only reason to root
Very little difference

All our assessments are quite subjective; In my experience it is even less than 8%, I would say 0-5%...

Definitely 5% but for sure not 40...
At one time there was a hbm APK. I have it somewhere

Wasn't there an option before in ElementalX to turn it on and not download an additional app or is it me just going crazy?

I absolutely loathe this. The only work around I've found is an app called adjbrightness. It'll force the screen brightness to whatever you want. But as far as disabling the system setting, I haven't had any luck yet either.

Most likely, but many of us are still on tw as much as it sucks. While CM is good, it's not worth it for me until the IR and GPS are fixed.

This app will allow you to change the intensity of the vibration your device gives you, some kernels/mods do this specific feature, but with this app you can change it even on custom kernels or stock roms. You just need root.

A while ago I wrote this app to enhance my personal UX on my N4, I've been told it works well with N5 too, since it might be usefull for some of you guys, I'm sharing it here.
ROOT IS REQUIRED. Please read the app description.
Thanks, that really helped

Working anyone?
All intensities from 1 to 95 feel the same!
Yep working pretty well not to say perfectly.
In case it can help I have Nexus 5 stock rom rooted only.
Maybe depending on how much you changed from stock result could be different...

Maybe you're doing the same mistake as i did.
After you adjust the slider to a new value you need to push the "Set intensity" before you can use the Test button with the new value.
Took me 5 min to realise that.. :|

thank you mate
Ya it works amazing on mine and I'm on stock odex with root

Yep, sorry about that, last update changed UI and UX "set intensity" is no longer needed, just select the value and done.

Yep, root is mandatory since it edits system lvl files, since apps can't write on those files, root is mandatory to do so. Sorry if it's an inconvenience. u_u
Great app. I was looking for something like this.

Hey,
I need to make something similar for my HTC one (m8) runnig gpe, the vibration is insane.
Could you shed some light on how this app works?
I'm guessing it's a kernel module which changes the vibration intesity?

Actually it does not play with the kernel at all. Turns out that Nexus LG devices have a file with the intensity, so, basically, this app, overwrites that value on each boot to set the user prefered default and from there the system takes care to get that value and go on.
The file locations it's listed on the "FAQ" part of the app. Some people told me to add support to other devices, but they don't seem to have such file, or at least, not under the same file directory. You could search for it (if it's even there) and If it is (under another directory ofc) I could try to add compatibility to my app and solved.
It actually bothers me that people is rating the app poorly just because they can't read this is ment only for N4 and 5 (since are the only 2 that i know of using that method) ... u_u
Hi All,
work this with AOSP ROM? Where can I find the apk file? I have now no internet connection on my phone, so I could not download it from Store directly.
Thanks in advance!
I use Trickster Mod for controlling the vibration because it also does many, many other things.
1. Screen brightness under sunlight: the S6 was a lot brighter thanks to a special setting enhancing colors, the Nexus is barely readable.
2. Camera software: S6 wins hands down here, on Nexus don't even have exposure compensation.
3. Headphones volume: Nexus is too low.
4. Notification sounds with headphones: the S6 was ringing from main speaker, the Nexus barely emits a sound in headphones, so you may miss notification when headphones are plugged in but non on your hear.

1. I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.hbmwidget but you need to be rooted. Got root?

Not rooted yet, waiting for Android N
U should root your phone.. after that with the apk https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.hbmwidget and a custom Kernel u will have a bettern one than ur s6
PS: I don't get why u r waiting "n"
OK will root.
Just wanted to wait to upgrade to N to avoid upgrade problems
There's a tut for headphone volume.

Also there is a free app that gets used with elementalx kernel that works great for brightness and can be found here.

As stated in previous post, you will need root for both.

I read that as only being a fix for rooted phones and I'm all aboyt the flashing stuff, so I can see how he could have thought so as well/ assumed it wouldn't be of any help in his case/ didn't bother to click the link.
That being said, I have no clue why someone would not root their 6p when it would solve 3/4 of the things they dislike about it. It's like a ten minute process max and is utterly devoid of risk or effort lol
I am rooted now.
I installed the widget.
When I run it says I am not rooted.
Read description and says it needs custom kernel.
I am lost now... Please explain

I don't believe so but High Brightness Mode widget is one of the main reasons I have root and the only reason I run a custom kernel.
And the widget works as advertised.
I use ElementalX with Tasker to achieve high brightness mode. Don't need the widget.

So the widget makes the brightness what it should be in the sun, like other Samsung panels?

I dont have a comparison but i use HBM and its essential for me to see the screen in sunlight.
Also theres a nifty tasker tutorial somewhere on xda i used and it automatically triggers HBM when light reaches a certain point. Do a search if youre interested. If you cant find it let me know and Ill see if i can find it. More convenient than a widget and it doesnt add clutter.
Found it

Hey, im looking to install a new ROM on my P8 Lite ALE-21. I currently have the stock one. I mainly want to use my phone for social media.
I recommend AOSPA or LOS 13.
Performance is great and batterylive isnt even bad.
