SIM 1 Without Service - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hello friends, I would like the precious help from you. I recently purchased the Xiaomi Mi A1, and like every fan of Xiaomi, I decided to change the system from Android to MIUI. I have downgraded and try to install every process. result: I lost the IMEI.
I then decided to reinstall the recent Rom through My Flash. I was lucky, because everything was back to normal.
I decided, once again (what an unfortunate decision), to redo the MIUI installation process, but once again gave IMEI error and not SIM card recognition.
in short, I made all possible processes for IMEI recovery, I installed all possible ROMs, and I was only able to enter the IMEI numbers.
but my Mi A1 does not recognize the SIM Card network, and the message "SIM 1 Without Service" appears.
When I try to make a call, "Disable airplane mode to make a call" appears.
Is there a solution?

new service provider SIM

I've bought a new S8 from T-mobile Germany.
Before initial boot, another SIM was inserted, and I restored all my apps from Google account. And set up a lot of things.
After some time the following message appeared: "Restart phone to finish installing your service provider software".
The phone needs to be reset to factory settings in order to install eventual bloatware from my service provider.?!
It seems this message appears at least after each restart.
Since I'm not willing to loose many hours for a new setup of all my logins etc., my question is how to disable this stupid thing.
Strangely, no information about it on the web.

So what happens when you restart the phone? Does it install anything?
No, after restarting everything is as normal, no installation of anything.
Just another message appears which tells that the phone needs to be factory reset in order to finis installing service provider's software.
This is because you phone is part of the OXM CSC. You can just ignore this message, when you do decide to do a factory reset (which need to be done manually through the settings) then your phone will change to the right CSC where your SIM is from. I have this constantly when I travel and change SIM's in my S8.

Problem with SIM Card

Hi guys!
I'm from Venezuela, I recently acquired a Nexus 6p (h1511), so yes, I'm a noob. When the cell phone arrived in Venezuela, I connected it to the Wi-Fi network without placing a SIM card, and there was an update notification, I executed it, anyway it already came with Oreo 8.1, the update was December, the one that had It was November. After updating the SIM of the operator Movistar, recognizes it since it says "Without service - Movistar", when trying to call it shows the error "Mobile network not available", when trying to do a network search, it gives error, sometimes to one side of the signal bar, appears an R (Roaming I guess) ... I've been doing a lot of research, believe me I would not be creating this post if I was not so desperate, I have many doubts
I took it to a technician, he looked at it and said it was CDMA that there was nothing to do, he wanted to sell me a GSM motherboard, I told him I would think about it, it was strange for me to be just CDMA, I investigate more and I realize that it's dual, and it changes from MEID to IMEI when I put the SIM card ... I did a factory reset and it did not work. I used the options in *#*#4636#*#* the default is LTE/CDMA/UMTS Auto (PRL) ... I tried to put GSM Only or Auto or any option that included GSM. Without apparent results, I think that it did not even change the default option, the radio bands are few, all from the USA (logical being the USA version of the cell phone) ...
Investigating further, I understood that the problem persists in Android Oreo ... Under the official firmware of Google 7.1.2, I follow the steps, I do the unlocking bootloader, flash vendor / radio, flashing system, in the end there is an error , something about user, I really do not remember, something like that could not erase the user partition or had no permissions ... The issue is that I turn on the cell phone, start to do an erasure, then start asking for google account, etc. ... I configure it, but I see everything the same, I enter the configuration and details of the team, it keeps dialing android 8.1.0, but I see that the base band has changed, some apps have changed, like the application of calls ...
Does anyone know what happened? (And no, the SIM problem was not fixed) :crying:
I want to install this ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/development/rom-chroma-11-08-2015-lockscreen-navbar-t3244444
According to many sites and here in XDA comment that it solves the problem, but this is 6.0.1 ... It means that I must flash 6.0 stock? To install the custom? Or can I install on 8.1?
Any other more updated custom rom that solves this problem?
Thank you! :fingers-crossed:

"No SIM card detected" & "No service"

Hi all,
I have a problem with my XC, i hope there's someone here who could help me out with this .
I get a SIM card error when i start the phone. After a while (5-10 mins) the error transforms into "No Service" as if the phone now detects the SIM card but has no service whatsoever.
Things i did to my phone prior to this:
- unlocked bootloader
- installed custom recovery
- root
- installed custom ROM
- drm fix
The phone did function properly for a few months actually after these operations without a SIM card error even once. But then i tried to install custom ROMs again (and i'm sure didn't flash ROMs not suited for XC) -actually tried to install "existenz" ROM but i did get a bootloop so i -once again- did the usual procedure with flashtool and flashed a firmware to set everything back to stock as close as possible. That was, when i started to get the SIM card errors. After several restarts (cold and warm) the phone sometimes recognized the SIM card and i could use the phone normally. But this was true only till the next restart, where i got the same SIM errors again.
Things i tried:
- flashed several different firmwares (official) with flashtool (wiping everything) - all the newest firmwares.
- *#*#72786#*#* in dialer to wipe carrier settings
- *#*#4636#*#* in dialer to go into phone settings and changing those settings randomly
- flashed another AOSP based custom ROM instead of stock sony
- wiping and formatting everything between the flashes of course
- cleaning and re-inserting SIM card (which i never took out before anyway)
But unfortunately nothing worked. Phone keeps to not recognizing the SIM card (which is working just fine in another phone). Everything else works just fine on the phone. The IMEI is displaying correct. I'm almost certain that the fault isn't hardware-based (i didn't drop the phone or exposed in water etc.) but software-based. Did i just managed to brick my phone by flashing something related to the modem which i'm not aware of?
I can't find any solutions on google, which help me, which is why i'm posting it here. Sorry for the long post.
Did anyone experience such an error and/or knows what else i could try to fix this? I hope for answers
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
I've got the same problem.
I didn't unlock the bootloader or anything prior to getting the bug.
I wanted to downgrade to nougat, because aparently it helped someone in the forum below, but I didn't manage to do it.

Did you try nougat, when flashing different firmwares?
Your post makes me question if its worth it, trying to downgrade.
Try to remove sd card if you have one. then restart the phone and see if sim card is recognized.
I had the same problem and I think it was a hardware failure in the end.
I also tried almost all the things you were writing above. In my phone it started slowly. Sometimes the SIM was detected but after some time the connection was lost.
It happened some time after I installed a new battery.
But since there are no original batteries available for the device anymore and the new battery was even worse than the 5 year old original battery, I gave up investigating the SIM issue and don't use the phone any longer.
I bought a new (used) x compact because I still like the size and I saw some development was going on for this device.
In the end I cannot tell whether the SIM was not detected because I broke something while changing the battery or due to age of the phone but I think it was a "normal" failure.
I also read from others that they had the problem and the SIM was working for some time after I switched the battery before it stopped working.
Nevertheless. Good Luck to you. Maybe it is something different on your phone.

Help does not work dual SIM and does not recognize SIM when restarting.

hello friends I would like to request your help since I acquired my redmi note 7 in TELCEL MEXICO specifically the model M1901F7H but it came preloaded with all the undesirable trash of applications of said company and also it did not recognize the second SIM although in the box of the equipment a second IMEI appeared , so I decided to release the bootloader and proceed to install the global ROM of Xiaomi 10.3.6 the whole process was easy but when reviewing my computer already running the ROM 10.3.6 new I already appears the second IMEI dialing * # 06 # but the second SIM still does not work and also when restarting the device does not recognize the SIM and I have to remove and re-enter the SIM again so that it works every time I restart in advance thank you very much for any help you can provide
First thing: Your post is too messy, there's a button on keyboard called "enter", please use it.
Second thing: You can verify if your IMEIs are legit right here https://www.mi.com/global/shield/#imei_en, try checking if both IMEIs are legit and match the same device you are using.
Third thing: Have you tried the Hardware testing on your device? Just tap kernel version(on about phone tab) a few times to open the menu for testing.
Fourth thing: You flashed the latest global Stable ROM yourself(10.3.6)? That part is not very clear, did both SIMs work before you flashed the ROM?

hello sorry for my way of writing but what happens is that I use Google translator.
1.- I have verified the 2 IMEI numbers that the team gives me when dialing * # 06 # in the page that you mention and they are correct, they belong to the same team, they are also the same ones that appear in the package.
2.- I have applied the test and with 2 sim on the team and gives me error at SIM 2.
3.- if I flashed the stable global ROM 10.3.6 since the team brings a ROM modified by TELCEL which covers the second SIM and the second IMEI.
4.- after flashing the global ROM the computer works very well, it is updated and all the only bad thing is that every time I restart the computer I have to remove and put the SIM tray back so that it grabs the network and the 2 SIM still does not work

SIM not getting detected after lost IMEI

Hello guys.
Recently, my phone's EFS files & IMEI got lost. I managed to "recover" my phone from its unusable state, but my phone refuses to detect the SIM.
My IMEI was 0, but I changed it back to my original IMEI. Yet my SIM still does not work.
The SIM itself works on another phone.
EDIT: It also seems that the SIM is indeed getting detected on my Mi A1, but no mobile network, and messages/calls do not reach me.
For the full story:
I flashed a MIUI 12 GSI (Android 9). Then, wanting to try out an A11 custom ROM, I flashed it, like I usually did.
It took extraordinarily long to load, so I force shut it down (this probably corrupted my EFS and stuff) and from then on no ROMs would work, and TWRP would give me a black screen, and a myriad of other problems
After 2 days of non-stop research, anxiety and magic I managed to "fix" my phone. The SIM was working at some point, but along the process it lost its IMEI, and even though I managed to restore it, the SIM does not get detected at all.
I would appreciate any help at all. Thanks for reading.
