[App Collection] Note 9 Exynos (Gcam, etc..) Updated & Active thread

Instead of searching multiple threads and comments for which version of an app is the best for Exynos Note 9, I wanted to make this thread as a collection, and as updated as possible. Every good confirmed app I will add to the first post. I will only link to official links. I'm not a developer. Lets keep each other informed in the comments about performance of apps, better versions, ...
Here we go:

This is the most recent version. Allmost all modes work, error now and then. Includes Nightshift and working Portrait mode. No Root

This was suggested in an other thread, but I got very bad perfermance on this. No Root

To be honest I haven't fiddled around that much. Just a couple of test photos. But you can test and report here

Unfortunately I've tried every possible combination of libs+model+exposure and can't seem to find one that produces images as good as IDan one in the OP. Yes its based on the 5.1 version but portrait works, exposure works, HDR+ works. 6.1 the modes do work...but you get bleach white images, not my style, probably a minimalist filter

installation:

Can anyone share setting for the first link (Arnova & BSG)? Tried to configured but end up all seems to be over exposed photo.

This is what I did and it works.
1 if you have a Gcam installed, uninstall.
2 go to settings > device maintenance > storage > clean now
3 install APK from first link, the beta 11 version
4 open the app
5 don't change any settings!
6 then go to "more" > Night Sight
7 ..
I'm on Oreo btw

none of the versions work on android pie...either crashes or the pictures are highly overexposed

This app works for the Samsung Galaxy s9 Exynos, running One UI with Android Pie, ALSO with the latest security patch ( 1.1.2019 ). I can confirm this after a brief testing for about 1 hr.
The settings which gave me beautiful shots in the day and in the night are these...
Correction of auto-exposure hdr+ - sure shutter
HDR+ Parameters - 24 bursts
Lock HDR+ Frames - turned on
HDR+ under exposure multiplier - 75 Percent
Inside the HDR+ settings sub menu-
Denoise multiplier 160/170
Highlight saturation 1.3
Shadow saturation 1.8
Antibanding mode - auto / 60 hz
In the developer options sub menu check mark these

Thank you for this recommendation! It is really the first version working for me. The only disatvantage is lack of NightSight mode. Do anybody has it working in any compilation on Exynos and Pie?

[FIX] QR scanner bug in Pie ROMs

Hey everyone, you already know about the QR scanner bug in Pie. Well, I've discovered it's cause. And the cause is HAL3 (Camera2API). After disabling ? 2API, the WhatsApp can scan QR codes easily. This means either HAL3 is not properly supported by this device or lacks some permissions. For proof, I've attached a screenshot.
So, devs had added an "In-app focus fix" switch that's based on this theory. Turning ON the switch (disables HAL3) help to scan QR codes.:laugh:
By default, it is disabled so that gcam can work.
{This toggle is present in some PIE ROMs in Settings>System>LeEco Extras}. THANKS TO DEVS for this switch.
It's a very good switch if used wisely.

Hal3 was never supported on this device.

On pie ROMs, HAL3 is enabled by default. To disable, root your phone, download build.prop editor from play store. Grant it root permission. Search "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" change the value from 1 to 0. Reboot and check, it should scan. But gcam and sd cam will not work after disabling it. You need to download any 3rd party cam and manage with less picture quality.

Wow you're right! It indeed fixed the issue . Gcam is still working for me at full quality though!

Be advised video recording, night sight , portrait mode , photo sphere and other stuff beside Just plain Photo capture isn't working if camera 2api is disabled

Q. I'm experiencing force close in GCam and in the stock camera in latest updates of some pie ROMs like AEX, arrow, havoc etc. How to fix it?
A. It's not an Rom bug. Turn OFF the "In-app focus fix" in Settings > System > LeEco Extras.

In my havoc rom 9.0 setting ~system-there is no Leeco extras! So how to do like u?

ColorOS 7 beta Experience - what is Working and Not!

Have finally upgraded to ColorOS 7 Beta and so far I'm loving it with a few issues which I consider livable!
Listed below are my initial real life experience with the new OS. Please add yours to help warn each other.
*Note: My Reno 10x is from Australia (CPH1919), but used Seed4.Me to vpn India and managed to grab the trial upgrade. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.seed4.app.android&hl=en_AU

*Quick and snappy! - after a Factory reset (Your mileage may vary)
*GCam works perfect (ver 7.2 by cstark27 - https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog870/). GCam photos has better details and more natural looking than Oppo stock cam (see attachments)
*New Icon Style option now allows you to customise icons shapes to suit your needs (rectangle to custom including rounded)
*Dark Mode + Dark Mode for Third-Party Apps works great except for some apps (i.e. Facebook Messenger). Each app can be selectively excluded for default app mode
*Finger print scanning is faster
*Battery life is great
*Better Quick Panel layout / icons
*Settings App looks heaps better!
*No More of the USB Debugging auto 10mins shutdown when idle!

*Google Pay error: Your phone doesn't meet software standards! (Setup doesn't finish at all!)

*VPN disconnects automatically within minutes (I'm using seed4me). Have not tried other VPN clients
*Dark Mode for unsupported Apps makes reading texts hard (Exclude from the list for default app mode viewing)
*File transfer from PC to Phone storage seems really slow. Possible default driver related. Solution was to copy Phone backup data to memory card then card to phone storage
*Google Messages app cannot read backed up messages but shows new incoming messages. Setting it as a default app doesn't help. Reverted back to Oppo native Messages app.
*Office Lens app cannot access camera function so screen is just pure dark when taking photos or scanning docs.
**Possibly more that I haven't noticed as yet.

Just got an update (CPH1919EX_11_C.06) which fixes most of the issues mentioned above except for UI issues on Dark Mode. Probably more of an app incompatibility rather dark mode problem.
Happier now with the performance and features .

Congrats. I'm a little frustrated at having the Chinese model and no prompt for an update. You'd think Oppo would want to push the update to my phone first. :crying:
Maybe I need to VPN to a Chinese server to get it as I'm in the U.S. Or I wish I could just flash it myself instead of waiting for an OTA.

Just managed the get the latest beta update, c. 06. It has fixed the google pay error so that works now. Vpn trick is finicky as I had to try multiple times for the update to show. I so far the performance seems good, the animations are smoother then before

Can I ask what VPN you used and did you have the trial tab in the update settings before you tried the VPN or after. I don't have that option to even view beta updates. UK version btw

Nord VPN worked for me . I had to try connecting to nord vpn several times. It looks like it dose not like certain servers. Its a luck of the draw if the vpn works or not

Glad the camera finally has wide angle, 1x 2x 5x and 10x default and 1x 2x 5x for video on CPH1919EX_C.06 version!

I have all those on CPH1919EX_A.15 (except 5x video)

I changed the Region with NordVPN to India, but the Beta of ColorOS 7 doesn't come. I don't know, what can I do to get the Color Os 7?:crying:

Have anyone noticed the camera quality in color os7 beta version CPH1919EX_11_C.06?
It seems like the pictures are less saturated than before and images are over sharpened.

Not sure about the stock cam but I use this gcam (GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v1.8.apk) as my default and main driver and I'm very happy with the results. Wide and Tele lenses are not working but I can live with it.

I read there is dual-wifi option in coloros7/android 10, is it working fine?

[BUG] [Mi 9T] unable to post videos longer than 15 sec. on Instagram stories.

MIUI 11 - Android 10 - MI 9T - INSTAGRAM ISSUES
It's impossible to upload videos longer than 15 seconds on Instagram stories.
Only first part of the video is published.
Other parts (second, third and so on) remain pending resulting in error few seconds later.
Even Instagram video editor is bugged:
if you try to edit a video a post it, the app hangs while uploading it (and you have to force quit several times) and when the video gets finally uploaded it has posted un-edited.

I'm also having the same problem
every time I will upload long videos the error happens

It seems to be an Android 10 bug.

On MIUI it's not exclusive to Android 10, i have a Note 5 Pro, with latest MIUI Beta, but it's still Android 9 and the bug is there

Ehp, you are the first giving me this report about this bug on Android 9!
On previous MI 9T stable, based on Android 9 the bug was not present.

[SHARE] GCam 7.2.014(Android 9+) + config I DOLBY ATMOS(Android 9+) + Best Settings

Hello Guys and Girls!
I'd like to share two APPS with you to improve the experience with your ZUK Z2 Plus.
All credits go to the respective developers and i take no responsibility if something goes wrong! If you're afraid take a backup first.
First the GCam Mod by Parrot. If you are on Android 9(pie)
Go to https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-parrot043/
and download MGC_7.2.014_Parrot043-v3.apk and install it.
Open the Camera and enable advanced settings. Click save xml/settings so the correct folderstructure for the xml is created.
Download my xml file and put it in the folder GoogleCamera/ConfigsCamera7.2 on your phone.

Open camera and double-tap next to the shutter button to import the xml file.
Slow Motion and Time Lapse are NOT working(At least for me) so i disabled them in my settings! So if you need these features don't use this version.
Attached you can find my config with the best settings i figured by trial and error.
This version has a lot of features(e.g. BW Photo) and the basic things are working + nightsight. HDR+ enhanced is working pretty fast aswell. For me it is the best compromise of features and settings.
If you are on Android 10(Q) just install the latest version from parrot MGC_7.3.020_Parrot043_V7
If you want to use slow-mo, open slow-mo tab in gcam then open google photos from the preview. Now switch back to Gcam with back button. Slow-mo should be working and in google photos you can edit the video to choose where it should be slowed down.

After successfull installation go to custom page of the app and apply these settings to get the most out of it:

For me RC1 of Dolby Atmos is working without problems on Oxygen OS(PIE), on HAVOC OS(Q) it is also working.:good:

In the Version i suggested selfie is working great.
Are you on Android 10? On Android 9 OxygenOS i get green tint on selfie with MGC_7.3.020_Parrot043_V4.apk, i tried it just now

Yes I am using AospExtended 7.0 (android 10). I installed MGC_7.3.020_Parrot043_V4.apk and not having that green tint effect anymore.

I'm on ArrowOS Q. Couldn't find anywhere in the app to save xml file, nor double tapping next to shutter works for importanting xml file, and even viewfinder freezes after taking one photo.

Hi. If you are on Android Q just install the latest version from parrot. My version is mainly for pie. Will edit my post.
