From the sound of it, this will actually have a few US LTE bands, but not all. Still with that and a Snapdragon 710 SOC, it's a marked improvement over previous models. This might actually stand a chance. Figured I would share it for those out there still wanting a proper Xperia Play successor like myself.
EDIT:
They also claim that it will have Google Play support, which would be a big update and not require sideloading like their previous models. If that happens, then this will be a substantial improvement.
EDIT2:
Looks like it's being called the i7s elsewhere:

Interesting snail releases really slowly

nice but a 6 screen would be massive. i finally sold my last xplay and got a moto z2 with the gampad. pretty good, runs every game

Yeah. Size comparisons show it to be pretty huge. Even the Vita with a 5" screen would have made for a massive phone. It's also a shame that even at that size it doesn't have any L2, R2, L3, or R3 buttons.
I thought about possibly going the Moto Mods route, although I've been sticking with the Xperia Compact line since I haven't been a fan of large phones. That and it has native Remote Play support, although Sony has yet to really make this an option on the go. But since everyone is dead set on going bigger, I've been looking at what else might work. I still haven't found an ideal setup.

yeah the moto z2 is big, but it´s so thin that somehow makes up for it, it´s really nice to handle. I was the happiest guy on earth with my xperia play up to 2016, then it just couldn´t keep up anymore. and i ultimately find myself playing only on commute, and in that case i always have my backpack and the moto z gamepad and my 3ds are in there. maybe with the release of the nintendo switch we will see something moving in a not too distant future..

Hello,
I have one of these. The screen is dead. Droix will not fix it. Is there a part number? The screen does not appear special. Could it be off the shelf?
Thanks.

Price: price € 599 but is already at lower prices, I have bought at € 479 including shipping.
Aesthetics: here we lack the glassy and pure aesthetics of the little brother Z3C, but it is more user-friendly
Edges: using really good and the edges are perfect for its use
Key fingerprint sensor: a true MUST is super easy
Screen: display technology of adaptive contrast is very effective, adapting to the ambient brightness. In full sun or shade, the screen remains readable.
Applications: latest version of Android 5.1.1 and Lollipop usual bunch of pre-installed applications: Music, Videos, Xperia Lounge, etc., along with Facebook and 11 Google applications, but most of them can be uninstalled. The most important applications are Sony Socialife, LifeLog, Smart Connect and Xperia Lounge.
Radio: There is also a radio antenna for FM radio, which is easy to use and listening is good
Performance: The Compact Xperia Z5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor (MSM8994) with four cores running at 1.5 GHz and four 2 GHz with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory and supports microSD cards up to 128 GB. It seems that Sony has learned from Z3 + and has done a great job of optimizing the operating system so that the hardware does not overheat, even launching many applications, I tried everything. The benchmarck I threw it does surpass almost every cell.
Audio: I would say good but not reach high volumes as I like it, certainly distorts everything
Camera: The camera is in fact a bomb has a 23 MP Exmor RS sensor and a super-fast autofocus of 0.03 seconds. Very bright colors, showing excellent contrast between light and dark. I made several pictures and I must say that is impressive. I also tried the manual settings, but those machines already give an excellent result. Exceptional auto-focus that automatically changes the focus of an image based on the proximity to the object ... of course you have to get used to. The video camera has a new function 'Image Stabilization ", which helps to reduce flicker of classic video handsets.
Battery: I have installed all the applications that I used before with the Z3C. I set the screen brightness to 70%. After 24 intense hours, with about six hours of screen-on, the battery had not been exhausted and still had 18% (estimated at about 5 hours) ... truly portentous battery! Present as the Z3C mode Sony Xperia Stamina and power saving mode ultra.
Final opinion:
Sony has provided the same CPU, GPU, camera and audio quality as a premium device in this "little one" and again I can say it is the best around. Battery life is the highlight.
Positives
✓ Compact
✓ Stereo Audio
✓ Fingerprint Sensor
✓ Can unistall bloatware app
Bad
✕ HD screen average
✕ Less "pure" than Z3C
✕ Expensive
To root and recovery will have to wait a while, because you can not use the exploit of kitkat and schedule type iroot or kingroot
The Z5C now has an option to check / uncheck OEM Unlock (bootloader). Tap several times on BuildNumber in 'phone' and then go to the options developer
It would seem that now has a chance to keep the key that opens the DRM after BL, although the family Z5 is not yet listed on the website of the developers of Sony, so I can not confirm .... Perhaps a new chapter is on the way... (thank to shafiq01)

Nice quick review! Please post some photos on the photos thread!
I never normally go with smaller versions of phones. I had the z3+ before this and just couldn't wait for the standard z5. My oh my I'm glad I didn't. This thing is an absolute beauty.
Easily one of the nicest looking and feeling phones I've ever used. Really happy with it!
agree. What I can add here is that Z5c is more slippery than z3c so looking for some skin on the back (dbrand) to give some grip. Despite thanks a great phone, glad I bought it.

Can you compare this to D5/X3/K9 series?
Not hardware specs, but e.g. usability, battery time, feeling, etc.
It seems that this have 2 times more RAM and ROM, than D5 series. Do you find this useful in practice?
Camera can record video?

BTW I'm curious how looks completely off screen. Probably it should be grey, not black.

Parallax
I think that for such so large parallax screen should be more ellipsed - on photo it is almost circular, but maybe I'm wrong.

Very interesting because of the combination 1GB RAM, Kamera, 600mAh and 8GB ROM, round case.
But why 4.4 and not 5.1?
Most 5.1 watches have 512 Mb RAM and 4GB ROM.
Is it possible to install 5.1 on the Comet?
The specs are not correct, on the wepages is written 512mb4GB (Ram/Rom)

Absolutely if you like a front facing camera (Q1 Pro) instead of a camera that points to the sky (H5). Yes it actually points to the sky not forward or front.
Just ordered the Black/Red Q1 Pro!
Does anyone have one of these yet? Any reviews/opinions?

Yup, got mine the other day, so far so good.
The UI is really good, it even has a full 'stock' settings menu like a regular phone.
My only criticism so far would be that with stock launcher you cannot add Clock skins, however if it is a 'must' for some users then Eric's clock skin launcher on Play store works fine with it.
Only had it a couple of days so not had much of a chance to test it out much, but it seems the battery is holding up good so far.
All in all I would consider it a great purchase! :good:
Good to hear it's going well. Considering buying one for my son. He's 11 and needs a way to stay in touch with me. Don't really want him to have to carry a full sized phone around.
How's the build quality?
How small does the band go?
I've been reading about people having trouble with the magnetic charging system not working on various phones because of problems with sweat/oil getting on the contacts. Hopefully you don't run into that issue!
I can't find any reviews of the watch on YouTube. If you're quick you could be the first

Hi, the Finow pictures only shown "Frequency Band" WCDMA: B1(2100mhz)/B2(1900mhz)/B8(900mhz). Does this watch support B5(850mhz) and can we set the screen resolution size to 320 for this watch?

No idea on the band frequency to be honest, and screen resolution 320?
Edit: using MTK Engineer App displays:
GSM Mode:
EGSM900
DCS1800
PCS1900
UMTS Mode
WCDMA-IMT-2000
WCDMA-PCS-1900
WCDMA-GSM-900
LTE Mode
Band 3
Band 7
Band 20
Band 39
Band 40
Band 41
Don't know if this helps or not?
screen resolution can be set on build. prop - it is currently set at 120
Thanks for your information, I have confirmed with Finow that this watch does not support B:850mhz.
How's the battery life?

hard to answer as people use their devices differently.
But I get 2 days on a full charge with light/normal use, however I work from home, so only have WiFi on airplane mode on as I don't need calls at home, general use is checking messages, social media, a few video's etc

Hi, I just received mine and am in mixed mood state.
The watch has improved compare to the original model except the screen (240x240) and thickness but the software seems unfinished.
Some bugs are really embarrassing and I hope we will get some updates :
- Sometimes Wifi disconnect and I must reboot my net box to get it work again ! It could be related to the "NVRAM WARNING" problem (Wifi connections list)
- Phone is working but I am unable to connect in 4G/3G (France) and to set any network parameters.
- Push notifications dont come to the watch.
Did someone get rooting this device ?
Sry for my English !
Problemm !
Hi , is there any app for running that measured heart rate and distance with good visuall on the screen ?
Google fit allways crashes , and i didn't find any good app with good visual ?

OPPO Find X5 Pro Review: Part 1

Intro
As part of the OPPO Ambassador programme, I was one of the lucky 20 people to be selected to review the OPPO Find X5 Pro. I was sent the global model of the OPPO Find X5 Pro in ceramic white 256GB 12GB RAM. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and MariSilicon NPU, I’m expecting seamless gameplay experience and high quality imaging prowess. Ive had the OPPO FInd X5 Pro for over 2 weeks now and it's time for my review which I have split in 2 parts.
Part 2
Contents
So starting off with the contents of the box, we have an 80w SuperVooc charger. I’m glad to see this as Apple and Samsung don’t include chargers but OPPO has here and it’s a whopping 80w. There is a small box which includes: a quick guide, safety guide, warranty card and a transparent soft tpu case. I appreciate this being included as it offers that extra protection in case of those accidental drops.

Build Quality / Design
Taking a look at the sides of the device, on the right hand side is the power button with a subtle green accent. On the left hand side is the volume rocker, which are actually 2 separate buttons. And then on the bottom is the sim tray, usb type c port and a bottom firing speaker. All of this goodness is encased by an aluminium frame.
The phone feels great in the hand and has very pleasant ceramic finish on the back. Having the white model, you won’t notice any fingerprint marks. The camera module is very unique here, it’s like it melts into the back of the phone. Having said that, the phone is a little slippery so be mindful where you place it or just use the included case.
Display
As for the screen, simply put, it’s amazing. It has 6.7” AMOLED display (Gorilla Glass Victus) which is QHD+ resolution. The screen is curved but nothing too extreme. The screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz and you have the option to toggle between 60hz 120Hz. There is also an option manually to 1080p (from 1440p) if battery life is a concern. As for the screen brightness, it maxes out to 1300 nits so there shouldn’t be any issues in bright sunny days. As for the front facing camera, there is a punch hole camera on the top left corner. Oh and there is a pre-applied screen protector which is always welcome and will prevent any unwanted scratches.
Performance
Like some of the other Android flagship phones out there, the OPPO Find X5 Pro has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU paired with 12GB of RAM with the ability to add up to an additional 7GB of virtual RAM! The launching of apps and games are pretty much instant and just generally using the phone it is fast and fluid. The fingerprint reader is excellent, much more responsive than the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Pixel 6.The screen has LTPO Technology which means it can adapt its refresh rate from as low as 1Hz to save on battery life, or ramp up all the way up to 120Hz something which the S22 ultra does. When it comes to benchmarks, it does not disappoint. I have decided to test Geekbench 5 and 3DMark (20 mins strees test) on standard mode and performance mode.
The Xiaomi 12 (on the right) which also has the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU overheats quickly and starts to throttle. This does not happen with the OPPO Find X5 Pro
Gaming
So when it comes to gaming, it doesn’t disappoint due to packing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, which is a slight step from its predecessor the Snapdragon 888. I have tested some of the popular games which includes Asphalt and PubG. To really test the limits of gaming I have actually used several emulators, namely AetherSX2 which is a free PlayStation 2 emulator. Games have been ramped up to 3x their native resolution (which boosts graphics dramatically), this makes the CPU and GPU work hard. The higher you ramp up graphics whether it’s a game from play store or emulator, the hotter the phone will get.
There is also many gaming options; Game focus where you can block calls, messages, notifications, gesture navigations and more. You can also start screen recorder from within there, a voice changer, show the FPS, GPU and CPU usage. You can also play around with performance modes, there are 3: Low power mode, Balance mode Pro Gamer mode
Software
The OPPO Find X5 Pro comes with the latest version of Android 12 along with its custom skin called ColorOS and its on version 12.1 at the time of this review. While we’re on this subject, since I’ve had this phone, there have already been 2 small updates. OPPO have committed to 3 Major updates and 4 years of security patch updates. So far I have found ColorOS a delight to use, I have found it to be very smooth and the settings is well organised. There is no lag like I have noticed on MIUI 13 on the Xiaomi 12 which is a flagship phone. ColorOS is so thought out, for example there is a setting for Haptic feedback, you can choose between Crisp and Gentle, whichever you select, there is a small animation that plays and the haptics goes off so you can get a good idea of how it will feel. One thing worth mentioning is that there is an option to add other users to the phone, you won’t find this on the latest Xiaomi and Samsung flagships. If someone (including children) wanted to use my phone for a short period, I can just create an account for them and they won’t have access to my account at all.
