What the different between 6gram and 8gram? - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi guys
I want to know is there any different between 6gb and 8gb. For flashing rom ..and for support from developers?

6gb plus 2gb equals 8gb... But like he said as far as software it's all identical. Same as how you don't need to do anything to your PC if you add more RAM it just simply works.

I bought a 6gb version but my phone says it has 8gb??! Lucky me i guess

4gb mini sd card

Before I splash out out on this card...will it work OK in my Wizard ?

I am pretty sure there are NO 4 gb minisd cards on the market. There have been a few stories of skams that would make me v wary. I have been watching the market/forums for months and seen absolutely no credible reports of one in existence.
I have magnified the picture of the claimed 4gb minisd card - and to my eyes it looks duped! the 4 is not in line or same font as the 0 - what do others think?
Yeah, there are 4gb cards
But I am not sure that the one you linked to is legit.
No branding for the manufacturer of the card itself is my biggest clue as to not believe it.
From another Forum
it deals with the sda but here is some info from HOFO

Where then - show me a legit 4gb minisd. I have followed that thread and still there no real world 4gb minisd cards. All the ones advertised on ebay etc... are scams. As the above thread stated and the above image - they have been photoedited and v poorly too.

Oh I agree with you - I am not sure there are any out yet, what I am saying is that is has been stated (presumably legitimately) that they will exist.

Ok friends now Yep they were meant to come out 1st or 2nd Q this year but I think manufacturers have withdrawn because of microsd cards and I reckon they are investing in these. I would like the manufacturers to prove me wrong though because many think 4 and 8 gb minisd cards are feasible.
sandisk's site and wikipedia both say 2gb is the max
I don't know if you guys checked but 4gb sd's are out. I don't understand the difference btwn sd and mini. They are supposed to be the same but just smaller.
I have not seen any 4.0 GB miniSD's. The font on the picture is definitely fake. The "4" is of different font type and size. My advice is "DON'T BUY IT". It's a scam!
OP: No, it will not work in your Wizard....
good lord...
It looks like a lot of people here really need to do a bit of research before flapping their lips about things they are not informed about.
4gb MiniSD cards do in fact exist.
However, the Wizard can not recognize it because of the size. It can only see 2 gigs of a 4 gig card... so it is pretty much useless until there is some type of firmware update that would allow them to see all 4gb of the card.
Like I said though... the phones only see them as 2gb cards because of firmware limitations.
Just a thought . . .
So, since there is a 2gb limitation, I wonder if you partitioned the card to 2 - 2gb partitions if it would address that (probably not) but seeing as I do not have one - it is a question that idly went through my mind.

Thanks gldrush98 for those images- do you own one? You will find i have done quite alot of research and i dont flap  The prophet - v similar firmware can manage a 4gb sd card without a problem as can the older magician. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=32265&start=25
Sometimes the card needs to be at least 2gb full for the card to be fully recognized or formatted on the device with storage tools or the like.
Best to be formatted to fat16 not fat32 - thats why its probably not working properly in the wizard. Many 2gb cards even dont work on the wizard if formated to fat32.
You can also partition your memory card - see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=52380&highlight=format+4gb
This is the orig post that those images came from http://www.bengalboy.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=584&forum=8&post_id=4043
and it looks like the poster bought the card from the same link as the first post. So it may be legit.

32 gb micro sd card

Anyone know if the 32 gb card is compatible with the jade? I've got a 4 gb and an 8 gb and they both work fabulously with my jade. Don't know if the 32 gb would work as well. Thanks in advance!
Its supposed to be compatible, but I dont think a 32gb microsd has been released yet I think they are due in 2010?

Hi, im not actullay looking for 32gb on my touch 3g, not yet anyway , im just answering the question to the previouse post . Although videos would probaby eat up 8gb of memory rather quicky.
I used to run a 16Gb card on my Jade and it worked perfectly, until I installed the official HTC upgrade! After that it wouldn't find the card or work for a while before loosing it. I phoned HTC who said that the Jade is only approved for up to 4Gb. I've had to go back to a 4Gb to ensure stability.
If you haven't done the update, there's a good chance that the 32Gb will work (haven't tried it so can't be sure) but if you have I'm pretty sure it won't work.
In short I really regret doing the upgrade as I haven't noticed any major improvements, just the lose of my 16Gb card!
hi
thanks buddy i dont load videos of any kind on my phone so look like 4GB or max 8 would be more than enough for me
thanks again buddy for the clarification

G2 Internal memory

So we all know tmobile was lying about the 4gb internal memory available (should have been @ least 8 in the first place anyways) and instead we see around 1.5 or so. I'm just wandering if the dev/hackers are looking into a way to counter this and unlock the extra internal memory were supposed to have from stock.
There is no way to unlock the extra memory, it's set like that in the factory. See the Wiki for a detailed explanation.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z
if they can find a way to repartition the 1.5GB into 4GB, which i think is impossible. The wiki explains a lot.

No, it actually *IS* a lie.
The physical part is capable of being 4GB, but half of it was sacrificed **permanently** in order to boost performance and integrity.
There is more than 1.5 available though, its actually about 2.1 total available, 1.5 of which is in the USERDATA partition, the rest is in the SYSTEM and other partitions.
Full explanation located in Wiki
If anyone wants the details on the magically "missing" 2Gb of memory, there is a good explanation in the Wiki.
The consensus is that the hardware has 4Gb but it is permanently partitioned to serve as a 2Gb device with good redundancy and speed.
Explanation: The "missing" 2Gb
Wow, this whole missing memory theme won't ever die, I wish it would already.

Free Internal Storage doesn't quite add up

Ok so I've got a 16gb n7. Got 13.2gb of storage which I understand, but I've got about 1GB of apps, less than 3gb of media and apparently only 4gb free!
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

Seeing as Samsung didn't mention a 64GB version during the official Note 4 announcement, I doubt there will be one any time soon, if ever.

Let me know if you find anything , I have googled it nothing much . Found an Infographic Stating there are two storage options 32/64 GB
Get you a good microsd card, I just got a 128 gb SanDisk microsd card...the latest versionm..it's very fast with reads and writes
Not sure why there would be a need for 64gb internal storage option when sd card can expand to 128gb as well as the fact most people have free cloud storage of many gig as well
only 24GB

As far as I know you can't move apps to SD card
That`s the reason I didnt buy yet Note 4. The internal storage is too little for this flagship.
No one`s know if will be in the next 2-3 months a 64GB ?? More I cannot wait.
The 64gig models are usually very rare because Samsung takes its sweet time to release them and when they do, its in very little quantity. If you are desperate to load 10+ huge games on your device, just move everything else to the microSD and commit your internal just for these apps. 32GB is enough really...
Maybe for you, the internal storage is used better for 4k recording, with microSD it lags sometimes (or when I modify [they are some hacks already] the bitrate to higher I dont want to think what can happen to a microSD)
